Default Basement or Upstairs?

I was thinking it would be wicked to have like an underground sorta thing with all food and a pool and what not, But obviously that wont happen.

That happened in BB7 but it was temporarlly, In BB10 I think it would be a good change...
But an upstairs is a change aswell, what would you prefer...

Upstairs and Downstairs

Or

Basement

Neither. Just one level please.

I like the idea of everyone being able to see each other, and people being in the background. it would just be awkward if there was a floor above or below.

but i think they substitute this well, by having the split levels over the one floor.!

A basement is not possible at the current house as the foundations are too shallow.

A second floor might be possible but would probably require a rebuild of the front half of the house shell.

Personally, I prefer one floor houses, but I'd rather have a second floor than a basement.

Set it in a towerblock with 10 housemates on each floor. 200 housemates! Evict 2 a day. As spaces become available the surviing housemates move up a floor so there are constant new relationships being formed. In the final week all the survivors are on the top floor and it's vote to win.

Em, if I had to choose, I'd say upstairs definately, but you had to pask tasks to get the key upto there.

Actually as it's built on a water tank I think a basement is possible. I'm pretty sure the tank isn't filled in - there is just a concrete base sat on top of it, and that has made it very easy for them to move the plumbing around each year with each new redesign.

I like the idea of a upstairs, as it has never been done before on BB UK.

I think both would be good. Maybe underground hidden rooms would be better for the basement though...?

It would have to be an upstairs - i dont think it would be possible for a basement area.

you would have to think about how it would be possible for camera runs etc to be built in a basement type area. an upstairs may be ok - but, i dont think there is room??

It's much better with one large living area and kitchen, one large bedroom, and one large bathroom... everyone gets on each others nerves then.

I do think there will be mulitple rooms this year though and alot of could be screened off and certain housemates can only enter with a fingerprint button.

I don't think it is. I remember once they had a house designer or someone similar on BBLB answering questions from viewers. One asked if a secret tunnel was possible and he said no because the foundations were too shallow.

So if they can't do a tunnel I doubt they can do a basement.

They did a prison task (best BB task of all time) and the prisoners found a hide away they crawled through a tunnel and into a underground hideout with like 2/3 rooms.

It wasn't underground - it was the bedroom and garden of the house next door.

There's no way there'll be a basement, but it's possible there'll be an upstairs but I won't hold my breath.

thats what i was trying to say! it was just the house next door which was then split into two! the bedroom for the house next door was the secret luxury room with spa/treats and a beach garden from that covered in sand and had a beach bar!

so obviously wasn't underground if it had a beach garden outside. good twist tho.

must of cost a bit to covert the secret house to the prison task then back to the secret house again which was completely different again in terms of decoration!

Basement not possible.

Upstairs unlikely to be possible because of the slopeing roof.

An attick however, as was proven in BBCH is possible, but only a small one.

What I'd like is some completely hidden rooms slap bang in the middle of the house but invisible to the housemates. Maybe hidden inside a diary room sized fireplace in the living area or a large set of winding corridoors.

Here's a quick mock up of both:

I dont fancy a basement and upstairs, not enough room and would be just cramped.

I dont quite understand the 2nd picture - but i think that the house on the right is the main house and the other houses are secret rooms or houses that dont know about each other???/

Maybe - i didnt quite understnad either, needs a little bit more explaining please.
