Default Is BB10 been over advertised?

i know advertising is important to get as many people to watch but iv just been watching smash hits/the box/kiss and 4 music and it was advertised 4 times in ten minutes - is this too much or good advertising i dont know ??

I was thinking it was not enough advertising but judging by what you are saying, seems like they are picking up their game, the thing is they are doing it over TV, they need billboards and posters to get more people, by TV they are getting the same people viewing it over and over again.

Over advertising is a good thing but their over advertising the wrong sort of thing. Amazing on screen graphics and snazzy music alone wont get people tuning in. And I am mystified as to why none of the ads have made a point of branding it 'A decade of Big Brother' or 'Big Brother's 10th Anniversary' or something simmilar.

In my opinion big brother is focusing on the complete wrong area of advertisements. We say it every year that they need to branch out to billboards, buses and other tv channels (i.e. 1-5)

I think the mysterious aspect of the adverts used to work, but due to its decline in popularity, people just don't notice it as much. To regain their audience, they need to do BBUSA style ads with clips from the previous series and slogans ie. they need to tell the view WHY they should watch, not just expect them to have faith in them. As we have found out, having faith in BB producers can have some disappointing results.. :/

i think it needed a re-brand also and billboards are a good idea but i feel that people will be put off by over- advertising lets not forget big brother is everywhere all summer and for some people [usually non bb fans] it can be too much and they turn-off and we need them to turn on ........ oh and by the way 4music has just advertised it again as i was writing this!!!!!!

Theres no such thing as over-advertising as far as im concerned. Its the only way awareness will spread.

Its not been advertised enough. The advertising campaign needed to be changed and be bigger because this year the launch ratings really do count on it
There needs to be more advertising in C4 shows which will have viewers who might watch the launch not on the music channels when most of the viewers will be younger and would have decided if they will or wont watch by now

its advertising is about right but i think the producers are 'leaking' info to get the show more attention and create new audiences

yeah, defiantely under advertised as far as ono tv is concerned, the ads have been the best on tv but the billboards and buses need to make a return, even be contraversial before it starts, like cover ugly big ben up with one of the roll down baneer/paster things with the eye 04/06/2009 and channel 4 below it, with lucozade sponsoring they shud have gave away free eye keyrings or collect so many of the lucozade lids to win bb related prizes and something else.......think outside the box sorta..

I also agree with your comment splash it around every where BB 10th Anniversary along with the clips would get people watching. Also Lucosade should advertise it on the bottles.

Advertising in the wrong place methinks. I'm sure it's cost effective to advertise on your own channels but that's just preaching to the choir.

There should have been a 30 sec ad during the final of BGT.

That'd hit a target market that's now looking for something else to watch.

Im not ussually like this to a fellow fan..

ARE YOU THICK!?

Is this your first series or somthen?

Ussually they have BB over everything and everyone is talking about it, they havent even tried to advertise as much anymore.

I was speaken to my mate Dee today and we were talking about that rumoured HM Karly, and he said to me "They arent even advertisen BB this year..."

And I couldnt belive it that someone outside these forums knew that BB10 is being ignored my channel 4.
They can kiss their ratings goodbye.

The viewers they`ll get is...

Every single BB Forum member.
Most C4/E4 Viewers
And familys or friends of the BB Forum members.

Thats all!

So I dont know why you think theyre over advertisen if anything they arent doing enough!

it makes me really angry i think the members of tibb should run the whole of bb next uear. cos we know what people want and works. we could make it quite somthing. somthing c4 cant
