Anything can happen between now and the middle of September. At the time BB5 wasn't actually doing that well at the start, after a big relaunch it was still only slightly up on BB4. It wasn't until fight night that the ratings went up. Likewise with CBB5- that was down on BB7 by over 1m until the race row.
Now I'm not saying something like that will happen, but it could and it could get more people to watch. Last night could also have just been a blip. Tonight will probably be lower just because its Saturday and the jury is out about tomorrow, but by Monday we'll probably get some kind of indication how it will perform. People writing it off after last night really isn't fair imo. Series' have bucked ratings trends in the past and this one could be the same. If its only getting 2m in 3 weeks time then by all means say it will get axed etc but to determine the next 98 days based on 1 night is ridiculous imo. |
