I don't know about series, but Ireland's 'The Late Late Show' is the world's longest running chat show and has been on since 1960's. But I'm not sure how many series it has had.

I think Law & Order is one of the highest. It has been running for 19 seasons, and that's excluding CI and SVU.

Quick search and I fond out that it is in fact an American show 'Meet The Press' which has had 61 seasons over 61 years. It is a news discussion type programme.
