Turf Wars: New Shopping Task (With A Twist) |

Grab your tin hat; the House is officially at war. Turf war that is.

After enjoying a lie-in this morning, housemates awoke to find the sofas shifted and a number of clues on the table. Housemates smelt a task.
Becky was worried. She said: “This task looks brutal. There’s a place for Billy No Mates.”
Big Brother broke the news that they would be divided into two competing groups – the green and the blue teams.
Over the next seven days the housemates will battle it out in two teams – the greens and the blues. Through a series of challenges they will secure themselves different areas of the House.
Once a team has taken a territory, the other cannot enter it.
For such an important task, the teams seemed more preoccupied by the colours they were given. In camouflage trousers and hoodies, Lauren deemed the look a bit blokey.
The green team were quickly dubbed The Bogey Brigade and The Kermit Crew. Luke S proclaimed that green is best because green, "is for go," and that blue isn't even on the traffic light system.
Luke A reasoned that it was because blue was unique. He likened his team to The Smurfs because they were, “blue and quietly confident.”
"The Hulk is green," stated Luke and Conor retorted with, "Blue's Clues is cool," silencing the groups and thus winning the battle of the colours.
But who will win the war for the floor space?
Luke S is given the task of reading the rules. |

Friends will become enemies in a head to head battle for the House.
For the next seven days the House will be at war… a Turf War. Housemates will be split into two teams: the green team and the blue team. The two teams will battle it out in an epic series of challenges to win ownership of different areas in the house. After each challenge, the triumphant team will win control of an area of the House; the losing team will no longer be permitted to enter that area of the House. All areas of the House will be up for grabs.
DAY ONE
The first battle will be for the Kitchen. The team that wins this area will automatically be rewarded with a luxury shopping budget this week and will be the only housemates permitted to enter the Kitchen.
The losing team will be banned from the Kitchen and banned from eating any of the food that is currently in there, or delivered there later this week. They will be provided with their own small fridge in the living area and survival rations.
The Turf War will culminate in one team being awarded the diary room, housemates in this team will be the only one’s that will nominate on Monday.
Teams will be provided with blue and green outfits that they must wear for the duration of the week.
TROLLEY DASH – PLAYING FOR THE KITCHEN
SET IN GARDEN
For the first task of Turf Wars, Housemates will be pitted against each other in a test of sheer brute strength, in the game ‘Trolley Dash’.
Trolley Dash will consist of four rounds. Each round will see one Housemate from each team being tethered together. On the sound of the klaxon Housemates will pull against each other to try and reach their granny shopping trolley and wheel it toward their shopping.
Housemates then need to get their trolley to the shelf of shopping and chuck in as much of it as they can, all the time pulling against their opponent, who is trying to do exactly the same thing, in the opposite direction. For every item of shopping Housemates get in their shopping trolley they will win one point for their team.
The team with the most points after four rounds will win the Kitchen and the luxury shopping budget. The losing team will be forbidden to enter the Kitchen, use anything in it and will be supplied with a box of Survival Rations – a bland assortment of uncooked grub.
SOFA HOPPERS
PLAYING FOR THE SOFAS AND DINING AREA
For the next part of Turf Wars, Housemates will be battling for the Living Area in the game ‘Sofa Hoppers’. Most Housemates will be hopping around on sofas, in different orders, to rank themselves in various categories. Whilst other Housemates will be in the Diary Room, trying to guess how it’s all gone down in the Garden!
Big Brother will ask both teams to select one Housemate from each team to do the guess work. Both of these Housemates will go to the Diary Room, and the remaining Housemates will take their seats on sofas, in the Garden.
At either end of both sets of sofas are two signs reading ‘most’ and ‘least’, Big Brother will ask Housemates to sofa hop into new positions on their sofa, according to a particular category. For example, housemates may be asked to sofa hop into position from the most to the least talkative Housemate.
Once Housemates have settled into their positions, Big Brother will ask the Housemates doing the ‘guess work’ in the Diary Room to predict the order in which their teammates in the Garden, are sitting.
For every position Housemates get correct they will win one point for their team. The team with the most points at the end of the game will win control of the living area and the losing team will be banned from the sofa area and dining table from then on.
As there will be seven housemates in one team, for fairness, one Housemate from the team will not be playing and will just watch the game.

Our housemates became Sofa Hoppers this evening as the Turf Wars task went tactical. Luke S and Shievonne were picked to represent the greens and the blues respectively, while the rest of the housemates decided amongst themselves how they ranked in a number of different categories. With an odd number of housemates working on the task, Lauren sat this one out and sat on the sidelines to watch the fun.

The categories our pals were forced to rank included 'most to least attractive housemate', ‘most to least bitchy’, 'most to least annoying' and 'who wants to win the most'. While the bulk of the housemates bickered amongst themselves as they perched on the edge of their coloured sofa, Shievonne and Luke S agonised over their decisions in the Diary Room.
The green team lost confidence in their comrade quite early on in the task, unanimously agreeing that they probably hadn’t put their best man forward in the form of Luke S. Not surprising really, as he got most of the line-ups wrong and managed to a insult a few of the housemates in the process.
Meanwhile, the blue team had full confidence in Shievonne, and who could blame them - remember the impression task in week one? She’s certainly shown her aptitude for reading people. It therefore came as no real surprise that she scored higher than Luke S, and subsequently won the task for the blue team.
As a result, the blue team have clawed back some turf and are now sole beneficiaries of the living room. But all is still to play for and we’re predicting that Big Brother will be upping the ante in the days to come.

The battle continues …
Duck off – Playing for the bathroom
Housemates will be going head to head for the bathroom in the game ‘Duck Off’. Housemates will be getting a right mouthful as they stick their heads down gunge filled toilets, in a race to retrieve rubber ducks. They must get their ducks into green and blue bath tubs where they belong.
This will be a relay race, in which all Housemates will compete. Both teams will be competing at the same time in the race. Housemates are only permitted to use their mouths to retrieve the ducks.
The first team to recover and put ten little rubber ducks into their bath will win the Bathroom!
You snooze you loose – Playing for the bedroom
For the next part of ‘Turf Wars’ housemates will play for the bedroom in the game ‘You Snooze, You Lose’, where housemates have to guess which fellow housemates have been slagging them off.
Big Brother will ask the blue and green team to select two members from each of their teams to play this game. These four Housemates will then be called to the Diary Room, individually. Big Brother will then play Housemates sound bites of juicy bedroom gossip. All Housemates have to do is correctly guess who ‘dished the dirt’, to earn points.

DUCK OFF
She may have read out the task instructions, but that didn’t stop Caroline ignoring the rules.

In trying to prove herself not to be the Blue team’s weak-link, she tried to grab three ducks rather than one from the toilets.
Left to Caroline, the team may have won the bathroom but with the task restarted, the Greens lost no time in trouncing their rivals.
All housemates got stuck in, covering themselves with gunge in the process.

The green and blue team go head to head for the bathroom, which goes horribly wrong when one of the teams cheats.
The Green team are now one-up with occupation of the kitchen and the bathroom. The Blues just have the living room but with the bedroom to play for before the end of the day, they are determined to make it two all.

YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE
Big Brother unveils the next part of the Turf Wars task, housemates are going to find out exactly how bitchy they have all been so far......

Our housemates love a bit of bitching, but hate it when they find out they have been gossiped about.
With this in mind, it is unlikely we are going to get to the end of the next task without a few fireworks.
To gain control of the bedroom housemates must guess who has been bad-mouthing them.
Two members of each team will take part in, ‘You Snooze, You Lose’. The foursome will be called to the Diary Room one-by-one to listen to sound-bites of bedroom ear- burning banter.
All they need to do is guess who did the mud slinging.
The losers will have to sleep in the large task room.
Ashleigh has already proclaimed she will go AWOL (we’re not entirely sure that’s exactly what she meant to say) if the Blues lose the task and the whole team has been plotting to break the rules if they fail another task.
Scott has said the Blues were sore losers over the last task but if the Greens lose the bedroom will they be taking it graciously?

There’s been a lot of bitching going on in the Big Brother House - in fact we think the housemates could make an Olympic sport out of it. And today, BB used their loose tongues against them, as they were challenged to play ‘You snooze, you lose’ in order to gain territory of the bedroom.
The housemates chosen to listen to the bitchy sound bites were Becky and Deana for the Green team and Conor and Lauren for the Blue. The aim? To correctly guess the perpetrator of the defamatory comments.
Surprisingly, the housemates took the task very well - for the time being at least. Although Deana initially looked annoyed when she came out of the Diary Room, she was soon reflecting on the task, saying “Everyone bitches now and then. It’s natural”.
Becky similarly took the task on the chin, laughingly stating, “That was proper bitchy”.
However, drama came when the scores were tied, resulting in two more housemates being asked to take the challenge. Chums Scott and Caroline stepped up to the plate, both promising victory for their teams - but who prevailed?
After an agonising wait, Big Brother announced that the Green team had won the task and thus control of the bedroom. And as a further kick in the teeth, the Blue team were given just 60 seconds to pack their stuff and leave their sumptuous boudoir.
As it stands, the Green team have control over the kitchen, the bathroom and now the bedroom, whilst the Blue team only have the living room. Not much of a consolation prize you might say.
Housemates find out who has won the bedroom in this week's task.....
Seperated housemates, the blues and the greens compare the bitchy relevations revealed in the aftermath of the recent Diary Room based task. Ooosh. Scott in particular is enjoying his captive audience.

Housemates may get a sinking feeling….
BAIL OUT
For the next part of ‘Turf Wars’ housemates may have a slight sinking feeling as they play the game ‘Bail Out’ to win the Garden.
Two Housemates from each team will board small rowing boats; each rowing boat has two holes in the bottom of them which have been blocked with bungs that are attached to ropes.
On Big Brother’s instruction housemates must pull the bungs out of the holes, the boats will start sinking, and housemates must start bailing out using the small buckets in the boats.
The team whose boat sinks or flips over first will lose that round.
There will be three rounds and so the winner will be determined by the best of three games.
Before each round, Housemates must choose which two team members will play.
The winning team will gain control of the entire garden.
RULES FOR GARDEN DIVISION
Once the Garden has been won by either the blue or green team, flags will be placed in the Garden to mark thresholds that the losing team cannot cross.
The white walk way running from the bathroom, past the living area, then to the bedroom and down to the large task room will become a ‘neutral’ area. All housemates are permitted to travel around this walk way to get to areas that they are permitted to enter.
Housemates are not permitted to loiter in the ‘neutral’ area.
Housemates from the blue team have lost the bathroom and will be permitted to cross the threshold to the shower block. They are only permitted to shower and must then return to their own territory.
Housemates from the team that loose the Garden will still be permitted to smoke, but they are only allowed to smoke on the smoking stool which will be placed in the middle of the garden.
Only one person from the losing team will be permitted on the smoking stool at one time.
Once Housemates finish their cigarette they must cross back to their own territory immediately.
Housemates are reminded that crossing forbidden territories is forbidden. Housemates that do so will be punished.

They have been chilling out in the garden all day, splashing in the pool and working out on the lawn but one team is about to lose their outside privileges.

Today’s first task, Bail Out, is going to require skill, determination and plenty of stamina.
A pair of housemates from each team will have to board a boat with two holes in the bottom, blocked with bungs. When Big Brother gives the word, they must pull out the bungs and start bailing.
The team whose boat tips over or sinks first loses access to the entire garden. It will be a best of three and team members must be chosen before each round.
The Greens have been feeling smug, spending a few hours picking out their luxury shopping list whereas the Blues almost seem resigned to failure. With the majority of the more dedicated smokers – Lauren, Luke, Ashleigh and Shievonne on the Blue side, you would think they’d want to hold onto the outside.
BB has made some allowances but the rules cannot be bent.
Rules for the garden:
Flags will mark the threshold and cannot be crossed.
The white walkway running from the bathroom to the bedroom and onto the large task room will be neutral.
All housemates may use this area to access areas they are permitted to enter.
They must not loiter and or stand still.
The Blue team will be able to access their shower block even if they are unsuccessful.
Smokers will be allowed into the garden but only one at a time and only to sit on the ‘smoking stool’ in the middle of the garden.
Once they have finished their cigarette them must leave the garden.
Crossing territories is forbidden.
In order to win control of the garden, housemates must stop their ships from sinking. Who will rise to the top, and who will sink to a new low?

Today both teams will play a game of Chinese Whispers – but instead of whispers, they will be passing their stinky breath along the chain.
Within each team, three housemates will play six rounds each. They will sit in a row of cubicles behind ten plates of various foods. The first player will open an envelope to reveal what food they must eat first. They will eat it, and then breathe down the mask to the second player who will breathe in and attempt to guess what they have eaten. They will then eat the food they think has been eaten, and repeat the process, breathing their breath down the tube to the third player. They must then eat the food they think they have breathed in.
Within each cubicle are small placards, bearing the names of each food. Before they eat the food, the playing Housemate will place their placard on the shelf so Big Brother can clearly see what they are eating. When the third housemate has eaten their food, if all placards bear the same food on, the housemates will score one point for their team. The Blue Team will play first followed by the Greens.
Each team will play six rounds, and receive a score out of six – the game will go to a tie break if necessary. Whichever team scores the most points will win access to the Secret Room later today.

Today's task sees one of the teams winning a secret room in the House. First they must correctly guess what food fellow housemates have been eating by smelling their breath. We hope they brushed their teeth first.
It's the green team's turn to get a smelly breath. Becky, Adam and Luke S, step up to the plate to munch on some random food then breath on each other. Mmmmmm nice!
As today's task comes to a close, it's rich pickings for those that didn't get to eat the task food. Well actually it's not, but that isn't going to stop Scott trying to fit as much in his mouth as possible before he leaves the task room!

The housemates in the Secret Room chose one housemate from the Green Team for Big Brother to call to the diary room and ask a number of personal questions.
However, the questions Big Brother asked were chosen by the Blue Team – and unbeknownst to the housemate in the diary room, the entire conversation was played out on the screen in the Secret Room.
The Blue Team chose Adam for the diary room interview. The questions they chose were as follows:
Who in the House do you think is the fakest?
Who do you think will win?
Which Housemate is playing up to the cameras most?
Who in the House is not to be trusted?

And for the final part of the task....
The first team to open the diary room door will win the task, and therefore possession of the diary room.
The team who win the diary room will be the only team permitted to nominate tomorrow.

Housemates are gearing up for the final game of Turf Wars. It's more serious than it's ever been, as this time the Blues and the Greens are set to compete for possession of the all-important Diary Room.
When the game's underway, One housemate will represent each team, racing to reach the Diary Room first. The bad news for them is that the Diary Room door button has been locked inside a box and, in order to unlock this box, each team must open a series of yet more boxes.
The first box is padlocked and can be opened when the Blue or Green competitor finds the right key from a large bunch. Once they open it, they'll be faced with a question which they need to answer with a number, and they can use that figure as a code to open the next box. Opening this next box will reveal a final question and a set of fob keys bearing the Housemates’ faces on. Answering the question will tell them which fob they need to use to open the final box surrounding the Diary Room door button.
Confused yet? The housemates probably will be.
The first team to open the Diary Room door will win the task and therefore possession of the Diary Room. Furthermore, the team who win the Diary Room will be the only team permitted to nominate tomorrow.

Adam and Luke A take part in an epic battle for control of the Diary Room - and nominations. However, as is often with Big Brother, a twist ensues...
The Blue Team chose Luke A to represent them, and the Green Team chose Adam to represent them.
Luke A completed the task first by working out that his team had nominated him four times (Shievonne twice, Caroline & Sara once each), and that Deana was the Housemate who had received the most nominations. Luke got to the diary room first to claim the area and the right to nominate for the Blue Team…
However…yesterday Conor, Caroline and Ashleigh broke Big Brother rules by discussing nominations.
Therefore, as a punishment, Big Brother has revoked the Blue Team’s access to the diary room and the right to nominate, and awarded them over to the Green Team.
FINAL RESOLVE: GREEN TEAM have control of the diary room and the right to nominate this week.
