Ofcom has received over 200 complaints about Big Brother 2014: Power Trip in its first week on air.
According to The Daily Mail,209 complaints have been logged in the series' first week on air. With 79% of the complaints being caused by Danielle McMahon and Helen Wood‘s explosive post-nominations argument.The argument – which aired partially live during Tuesdays "Big Surprise" special and was shown in its condensed edited form on Tuesday’s highlights show. It began with Danielle implying she was up for eviction for not acting like a "slag". Helen jumped in upon hearing of her comments and the two erupted in an argument. The main basis of the complaints seem to come from finalist Helen mocking the model’s Catholic faith, saying that she should “stop s****ing Jesus”. The highlight show in question was deemed so explosive that for the first time in the shows 15 series history, the daytime repeats of the show was pulled due to it not being suitable for pre-watershed. Ofcom will look into the complaints before deciding whether it requires a full on investigation. |
