Another Housemate Receives a Warning

18 Jun, 2014 - 11:31 AM by Jake.
As we saw last night, Helen received a stern talking to from producers over her treatment of fellow contestant Jale.

However, after over 1,500 complaints from viewers concerning bullying, another housemate has been hauled to the Diary Room, this time being Pauline.

A Channel 5 spokesperson confirmed that Pauline has indeed been warned over her treatment of Jale during the past week. It is unclear whether this will air during tonight's highlight show.

There have been more than 1,500 complaints over bullying in Big Brother 2014.

TV watchdog Ofcom has confirmed it is now looking into the huge numbers of complaints, which are some of the biggest since the 2007 race row controversy.

It could see an investigation being launched into the show and broadcaster Channel 5.

Hundreds of fans have also signed petitions calling for Big Brother to step in against bullies Pauline Bennett and Helen Wood.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 wouldn’t comment on the complaints but did confirm last night that both Pauline and Helen had been warned about their behaviour in the house over this past week.

Last night we saw a very stern Big Brother caution Helen after hauling her into the Diary Room.

No wonder she is keeping her head down, the sly old cow. She'll keep the aggression low key now... i.e bicep workouts etc.

That always makes me laugh... "the PC brigade". What do you call the brigade who like to see people singled out and bullied? People are entitled to complain if they feel it's justified. And frankly, I'm a bit disgusted that BB waited for people to complain before talking the the two bullying ****s.

Where is the link between Helen and Pauline's behaviour and churches?

Being against bullying doesn't make someone religious.

I'll move passed the unnecessary insults about religious people and just focus on why you believe people who don't like to watch someone bullied on television means they go to church?

I wouldn't myself complain to ofcom as to BB,however I have found it is pointless to complain to BB direct as all you get is a set response, which in truth says little with no follow up.

Having said that, although I wouldn't complain to ofcom myself, I do completely echo what you say above.
Whether I liked a housemate or not, I would still expect some standard of behaviour and as to anyone sort of bullying or being bullied in any form, then I think BB should step in earlier and as you pointed out, not wait until ofcom has had complaints.

Ironically doing that would likely actually help BB carry on not ever put its future at risk, because BB themselves would be 'seen' to be handling such issues professionally and efficiently.

Oh my mistake. I didn't realise you were sent a list of all the complaints made to ofcom accompanied by a personal bio for each and every one.

Only the ones that go to church are freaks but the atheist complainers are perfectly fine? Ok then.

Mavis and her team gather to make calls to Offcom about Big Brother and that dog programme. Dog, being God backwards is in fact blasphemy.

Emotional abuse can be worse then physical. Would you rather be shoved or called a slug?

I agree........words are words are words. providing there are no racist comments made then All's fair in love and War and BB.

Pauline is not Bullying Jale merely informing her in very loud tones that she is the house alpha Female the oldest and the wisest. and that Jale and her will get on very well as long as Jale does everything Pauline tells her to do without reservation.
