Big Brother 2013: Secrets & Lies - Launch Details

Channel 5 has confirmed that Big Brother 2013: Secrets & Lies will have a two part launch show, beginning on Thursday 13th June.

The first launch show will air on the 13th at 9.00pm and last for 90 minutes.

Rylan and AJ will host thier first Big Brother’s Bit On The Side immediately afterwards at 10.30pm with a celebrity panel.

Launch night will then conclude with 30 minutes of live feed at 11.30pm, giving us all the chance to watch the new contestants get settled in to their new surroundings.

The second launch show also lasting 90 minutes will air the following day (Friday 14th June) at 9.00pm, followed by Bit On The Side again at 10.30pm.

There will also be another 30 minutes of live feed at 11.30pm on C5, as well as the first edition of daily live feed on 5* at 7.00pm.

This is the first time ever that a Big Brother launch has been split across two days and we currently do not know the reason for this.

Thursday 13th June

9.00pm: C5 - Big Brother Launch Part 1
10.30pm: C5 - Big Brother’s Bit On The Side
11.30pm: C5 - BB Live From The House

Friday 14th June

7.00pm: 5* - BB Live From The House
9.00pm: C5 - Big Brother Launch Part 2
10.30pm: C5 - Big Brother’s Bit On The Side
11.30pm: C5 - BB Live From The House

What are you expecting from the 2 launch nights?
Im excited forcthe thursday and froday launches simply cos I can see record viewing figures for five.

I also expect 12 to go in Thursday and then another 12 connected to them all the next night.

They won't break any records, maybe for normal BB on C5 (not that that should be hard), but not for C5 in general or the show, CBB8 got 5.1 million in the overnights.

It won't beat the record, CBB8 launch which got 5.1m. But it can certainly break a BB on Ch5 record, as I think the highest was BB13 launch (2.7m).

I'm confused about this. Does splitting the launch night in two parts mean the house will be filled with half of the housemates on Thursday and then the rest moving in on Friday?

Yes. This was revealed earlier, however we don't know why exactly.

Thursday 13th June
C5 - 21:00 - Big Brother Live Launch (Part 1)
C5 - 22:30 - Big Brother's Bit on the Side
C5 - 23:30 to 00:00 - Big Brother Live from the House

Friday 14th June
5* - 19:00 - Big Brother Live from the House
C5 - 21:00 - Big Brother Live Launch (Part 2)
C5 - 22:30 - Big Brother's Bit on the Side
C5 - 23:30 to 00:00 - Big Brother Live from the House

So there will be 30 mins of LF at the end of Launch #1 and 2h 30 mins of LF in total on Friday.

Yeah my first thought there was males 1 night then females or vice versa but then I remembered the 'secret' so maybe a secret house or something

Yeah, fingers crossed it's just one night to introduce all of the housemates and then the second night to introduce all the "Secrets and Lies" stuff.

Unless of course the twist is 2 houses or another split of some kind.

Yeah! 1 hour 30 mins Thursday 13th and 1 hour 30 mins Friday 14th plus BOTS and live from the house. No idea why or what may happen but it'll be interesting to see with the Secrets and Lies aspect to be revealed to us.

It could be simply a certain amount enter and then the next day tgeir secrets etc enter.

Bb have kinda done this before remember with the whole female launch noght in bb8 I think it was the blokes entered at a later date

As I mentioned in one of the other threads, I highly doubt they will stuff half the housemates in one night and the other half in the next. That would just be a pain in the ass for everyone involved having two pointless shows like that, so there must be a big twist to warrant two live shows...

Maybe there'll be two houses, maybe the second launch may be twist night - who knows, but they're clearly planning something.

I would hope so!

Given the title of the show it has to involve a secret and a lie. They will want the themes of the series to be introduced right at the beginning in the highest rated episode so viewers can be intrigued and stick with it.

I think there will be two houses but the two houses will be linked. For example one of the males in house one will be the ex of a female in house two. I know that sounds simple but you get what I mean. Then the houses play tricks etc (she leaves her pants in house two but he cant say anything cause then his secret is then revealed) or perhaps tasks one on one for money for prize funds (assuming they are individual prize funds).

Then at a later date the houses join at a later date and they have to keep their secrets secret.

Hope yous understand what I mean lol
