Glee's cover of All-American Rejects hit 'Gives You Hell' has climbed to the top of the Irish singles chart.

The song, performed in a recent episode by Lea Michele in the role of Rachel Berry, is the first individual Glee track to reach the chart summit in Ireland.

Usher and will.i.am's 'OMG' holds steady in second position, while Diana Vickers's 'Once' is the highest new entry of the week, landing in third spot.

Train's 'Hey, Soul Sister' drops one place to fourth, while Lady GaGa and Beyoncé's 'Telephone' falls to fifth following a four-week reign at number one.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed his interest in Britney Spears and Courtney Love.

Murphy, who recently said that another Madonna episode was in the planning stages, revealed that he he wants to hire the pair for cameo appearances in the Fox musical comedy.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I'm interested in the Britney Spears idea. I've always loved her. I'm entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.

"I actually ran into Courtney Love the other day and talked to her. She's interested. I would love to have the kids do a Courtney Love episode one day... The key is the songs in the catalogue have to have a certain degree of theatricality."

I think too many guest stars could ruin the show tbh :s

E4's broadcast of the much-hyped Madonna episode of Glee was seen by a total audience of around 1.9 million last night (Monday), early figures suggest.

The episode brought in an impressive 1.42m (5.7%) to E4 in the 9pm hour, helping the channel beat parent station Channel 4 in the timeslot.

I think that almost all the music on Glee is very well known and 'famous'.

A lot of it is no more famous than Hole' Celebrity Skin and Live Through This albums, which were actually incredibly successful and big albums at their time. But it's not even on the table anyway.

To be honest there's a lot of songs that have been on Glee that I would never have heard of/appreciated if it wasn't for them being sung on the show. So I would agree that there is quite a lot of less known music featured. I would love some Hole songs on Glee personally.

Kurt and Finn Home Spoiler:

Chris Colfer has revealed that Kurt's attempts to woo Finn end in disaster in tomorrow's episode of Glee.

The 19-year-old actor, who plays the openly gay singer in the musical comedy, added that his character's "deep" crush is "not going away any time soon".

"Kurt goes through a Meryl-Streep-movie-of-emotions in such a short amount of time," Colfer told MTV. "There's really not much closure for Kurt in [the] episode. I think it’s kind of a, 'Be careful what you wish for' message."

"Even though I think Kurt was brilliant for doing what he did - almost like an evil genius putting that plan together - but the result was not what he wanted."

The star continued: "I think it makes their relationship that much more complicated. Kurt's crush on Finn is a very, very deep one, and it's not going away any time soon.

"It's going to take more than his diabolical scheme backfiring up on him to stop his love for Finn."

Lindsay Lohan has responded to a joke about her looks on last week's Glee.

During the Fox comedy's 'The Power of Madonna' episode, McKinley High's guidance counsellor (Jayma Mays) said that Lohan "looks like something out of Lord of the Rings".

The Mean Girls star replied on Twitter: "#gleecast i hope that the show was referring to me looking like a fairy! with the- and the 'guidance cousellor' she's not a natural redhead. (sic)"

Critics have noted that there are no fairies in the Lord of the Rings movies.

Britney Spears could be headed to Glee - with an episode celebrating her music.

Following the success of the all-Madonna version of the award-winning show, series creator Ryan Murphy has revealed he is interested in doing an episode featuring Ms Spears' biggest hits.

"I've always loved her, I'm entertaining it - I think young kids would like that," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Ryan said he would also be keen to do Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin and Courtney Love episodes, but it would depend on the songs.

"The key is the songs in the catalogue have to have a certain degree of theatricality," he added.

Heather Morris has suggested that her Glee character Brittany will have a romance in the next season of the show.

Speaking to TV Guide, the actress hinted that Brittany is attracted to Artie (Kevin McHale).

"I know she has a little crush, but he's taken by Tina," she said.

Morris continued: "We just shot some promo images and they paired me up with Harry [Shum Jr.], who plays Mike Chang. We were pretending to be kissing at prom, so I'm wondering if they're going to build a story around us.

"I do feel like Brittany and Harry have a lot to relate to. They could have a cute little romance."

Morris also dismissed rumours that Brittany is involved in a relationship with Santana (Naya Rivera).

Glee actress Dianna Agron has landed a lead role in sci-fi thriller I Am Number Four.

The 24-year-old joins Alex Pettyfer, Teresa Palmer and District 9 star Sharlto Copely in the project, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie centres on nine aliens who escape their war-ravaged home planet and take shelter on Earth.

Agron will play a girl who falls for Number Four (Pettyfer) and becomes his confidant.

Eagle Eye helmer DJ Caruso will direct the film for DreamWorks with Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay producing.

Production is set to begin next month in Pittsburgh.

Kevin McHale has promised that the upcoming season finale of Glee is "emotional".

McHale, who plays Artie, told the New York Post that some of the cast cried after reading the episode's script.

"It's an extremely emotional one," he said. "Jenna [Ushkowitz, who plays Tina] called me up after she read the script and sounded like she'd been sobbing.

"Then I walked into the make-up trailer where Amber [Riley, who plays Mercedes] and Dianna [Agron, who plays Quinn] were crying. It's very emotional. I think it's an amazing way to end the season."

McHale explained that filming the last episode of the season had also been an emotional experience for the cast.

"This is the first time most of us have been on a TV show, period," he said. "So we kind of feel like an actual glee club that's come from being underdogs - because we went through all of these experiences too. We started with just four of us in rehearsal, then five when Cory [Monteith, who plays Finn] joined. That actually happened."

McHale added: "We've come such a long way, and now when we film these big dance numbers it's amazing - we've really done this. It's amazing to look back and think about how far we've come since 'Don't Stop Believin''."

In a huge vote of confidence for the zeitgeist-cracking drama, Fox has ordered a third season of Glee from Ryan Murphy Television and 20th Century Fox TV, EW has learned exclusively.

Season-to-date, Glee is the No. 1 new scripted series among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, and has averaged 9.4 million total viewers. During its spring telecasts, the musical dramedy, starring Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, and Lea Michele, averaged a 5.6/14 among 18-49 and 13.3 million viewers. It wraps its first season on Tuesday, June 8. “In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,” said Peter Rice, the Fox Networks Group Entertainment Chairman, in a statement.

Added Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly, “Everything about Glee – from the concept to the characters to the marketing – has been innovative and risky, but with [series creator] Ryan Murphy tapping into the zeitgeist, the risk has paid off with this truly remarkable series. Jane Lynch has called Lady GaGa "amazing".

Speaking to OK, Lynch said that she regrets not getting to meet the popstar when she guest starred on the show, in an episode that airs this Tuesday.

I liked the episode, wasn't the best though but it was good. Poker Face was just epic, their voices blended so well and I actually couldn't tell who was singing what part at one point. They look so similar too, brilliant casting on Ryan Murphy's behalf to cast Idina as Rachel's mum! Hope we get to see more of their relationship next season.

Loved the Gaga costumes, they all looked exactly the same as the original's. Tina's was the most iconic I thought but I thought Quinn's and Mercedes' were brilliant too. Found Finn putting on a dress at the end funny but it was a nice gesture to Kurt, I knew Finn never had it in him to be prejudiced.

Really liked Funk actually, I loved Loser <33 would have liked to have heard more of Terri singing. But what the **** were they thinking giving Quinn, by far one of the the weakest vocalists, It's Man's Man's World, which requires seriously vocal acrobatics and range :| terrible. I love Quinn but they sucked the emotion out of that song, not even Rachel could pull it off.
