Can't see it. It's supposed to be a 'gentlemans sport' and he's crossed the line. Surprised the greasy little turd had the cheek to play
You love him really

A cheat?? Why on earth did I make you lean towards him?
I want Trump to win now if I had to choose
Anyhoo, goodnight :)
I'd love if Judd went the whole way. Would be such a shock to the usual status quo of snooker. He needs to loose that absurd emoboy haircut though so I can get fully behind him.

Just caught the end of the match. Sorry to see Ronnie go but Judd is excellent so no qualms
Heard Ronnie's muttering about retiring..... again...
InOne
09-12-2011, 04:04 PM
Yeah that has annoyed me with Ronnie for a few years, when he loses he'll make some statement about not really feeling snooker anymore and how it's not for him.
Trump and Robinson 4-4 at the moment, should be a great evening session, they're both on top form.
Kerry
10-12-2011, 11:49 PM

joeysteele
11-12-2011, 12:25 AM
Hope Trump wins the final,I like his style of play.
What do we make of the Barry Hearn/Mark Allen controversy? Mark's a whiny git. I hope Trump batters him over the next few hours. It just screamed o attention seeking like the time last year when Shaun Murphy threw a wobbler about Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Complaining that the crowds are too rowdy? They ought to sit on their hands when Allen comes in and see does he prefer it that way.
InOne
11-12-2011, 11:41 PM
Yeah he seems a bit of a wet flannel does Allen, they summed it up perfectly when they said Allen is the most talked about player of the week and Trump is most talked about player of the year.
Was a decent final, Allen looked good at one point but didn't think Trump would let it slip when he only had one left to win. Glad he won.

Great win for Ronnie and great interview after. He seems more comfortable with himself now and he had a fair point about not wanting to be on the road anymore. 28 weeks is a long time and he's not a kid anymore. He's looking on form as well. Dunno the score of the other match but I hope Trump wins so Ronnie can get his revenge :D
Yeah it was shades of brilliance from Ronnie. Bringing back the good ol' days.

Jack_
23-01-2012, 12:39 AM
So glad Robertson won tonight. Shaun Murphy's a good player but I've never found him very interesting to watch.
Also glad Ronnie was back on form earlier on in the week, it's a shame he didn't progress but I'd like to see him do well when the World Championship comes around. Did anyone see that little piece they showed of him tonight during the mid-session interval? Showed his career highs and lows, had some interviews with some of the other players about their opinions on him, and Ronnie talked about his attitude to the game nowadays. It was quite nice I thought.
Good week overall, bring on April!
Anyone else hate Judd Trump?
I quite like him now, he's become my third favourite player after Ronnie and Neil.

Thankfully caught a bit of that Luca Brecel guy (the 17 year old Belgian) and he's very good for his age. Pretty fast around the table as well...could be a future Ronnie. Steve Davis has said on the BBC Sport website that he thinks it's 'realistic' that he'll be a world champion in five years. I'm in agreement...I think we'll be hearing a lot about him over the next few years, the next big thing in snooker. Judd Trump first, then him.
Talking of Ronnie actually...great first session. Anyone see the re-spotted black in the opening frame which took 21 shots to clear? Fantastic stuff.
Glad he's come out of it 7-2...just hope he wins tomorrow!

Again, some incredible snooker by Ronnie today. That century he made with the exhibition shots on the blue and pink at the end were nothing short of amazing.
He's playing the best I've seen for a long, long time. Last time I saw him play this well was when I first got into snooker back in 2008. If he carries on like this I think he could be unstoppable, I think he's the new favourite now as well.

Looks like Trump and Carter might go to a final frame decider here, like them both so don't mind who wins

Hope Ronnie doesn't take losing that last frame too bad. He was going well until those two shots. Got a feeling Robertson might come out and destroy him tomorrow if he's not careful

For **** sake Maguire just pots everything
I'm seriously missing some good snooker this year

Gutted Carter knocked Judd out, though he played some very good and very quick snookers in order to try and claw that final frame decider back.
Enjoying the Ronnie/Robertson match so far, it's a shame it couldn't have been the final though...quarter final seems a bit early. Anyone see that insane red Ronnie potted?
And talking of insane potting...I have never seen Maguire play so well. Gutted for Hendry but this really is quite incredible.

That last century Ronnie made in five minutes just then before the interval was incredible. Hope he can win the next one now.
He is on top form at the minute and indeed this year, I hope it continues. Love Neil but I'm rooting for Ronnie this year.

Ronnie seems to be in a great place at the moment, content with the game and most of all on top form. It's really lovely to see actually.
What do people make of the reports he may quit after tomorrow night? I wouldn't put it past him myself, would be the kinda thing he'd do. I hope not though as it'd be a great shame and I'd love him to continue with this kinda form for as long as he possibly can.
Ali's inconsistency will lose him this. He's left this way to late

Really good display from Ronnie, was hoping Ali would get more into it but really from 10-7 down he just faded. A well desereved trophy again for Ronnie but I do wish he'd end this I am coming back/I'm not coming back farce once and for all.

So, so, so happy for Ronnie. Carter put up a decent fight in the third session, and he's played excellently all tournament, but he was just letting too many chances slip away in the end.
As I've said earlier in the thread, it's been lovely to see Ronnie on top form and enjoying the game again...nice interview Hazel did with him at the end, and as John Parrott said earlier in the day, he's come across a lot better in recent interviews, more relaxed, nicer, more interested etc. I was very happy when at the end he said something like 'I'm not done just yet', and I really hope he doesn't pack it in yet because after the way he's played for the last two weeks, I really do think he has a lot more to give.
Oh, and it was great when Hendry walked out at the start to the standing ovation. Overall, great two weeks :amazed:

Thankfully caught a bit of that Luca Brecel guy (the 17 year old Belgian) and he's very good for his age. Pretty fast around the table as well...could be a future Ronnie. Steve Davis has said on the BBC Sport website that he thinks it's 'realistic' that he'll be a world champion in five years. I'm in agreement...I think we'll be hearing a lot about him over the next few years, the next big thing in snooker. Judd Trump first, then him.
So glad Luca made it to this tournament. Wasn't expecting him to progress past the first round and certainly not the second so he did really well. Excellent little player, needs to brush up on his positional play but he's definitely improved since April.
Really gutted he didn't beat Murphy this afternoon. When I got home and it was 4-3 to Luca I was quite shocked but hopeful, the couple of mistakes he made when he was 5-4 which cost him a win there were so annoying, and then once it went to a decider I knew it was in Shaun's favour. Couldn't believe how close it got at the end, and then that second pink he missed at the end was just gutting. That dull fat man always has to spoil the party.
Not quite sure how he'd have faired against Ali Carter but a potential final of Luca Brecel VS Neil Robertson would've been excellent. Nevertheless, he's done really well this week and I hope we see more of him soon
Good tournament for the English players so far ( obviously apart from Judd )
