DS "it looks quite aged for something that was built this year."

Well done, the whole point of set design. They need to make it look like it's been standing for more than five minutes. Lmao.

True, I think they meant, they've done a good job of aging it up though  I like how everything looks a little mismatched, the current area of the street can look too perfect.

How on earth is Roy still in business?

I think my problem with it is the same one I have with Turpin Road in EE. It's all crammed in a tiny corner making it look too unreal.

The tiny random garden makes it look even faker. :/

Also when did Zeedan open a curry house? I thought it was like a burger van?

That's true, I guess its supposed to be a precinct. I do think the Police Station is supposed to be elsewhere in Weatherfield, they have a big blue fence that they can close next to the station, and there's a dead end sign on Victoria Street

Looks like Robert finally got around to that refurb

also, get your Vanex and Swarvo cards ready before getting on the tram

Is the street always supposed to have been that close to a precinct?

Where does Victoria Street lead passed the park? A dead end?

Marsh.

Viaduct Bistro :joker:

Suppose it beats Rob & Michelle's or something.

What is the warehouse supposed to be? Abandoned?

The road turns right, and the set ends just beyond where you can see. I think this area is always supposed to have been here, though maybe it's just been redeveloped? Would explain the scaffold in universe, lol. It's a good idea to give the Bistro a name that doesn't include a character's name, it's changed far too many times. The Joinery, Nick's Bistro, Just Nick's then back to Nick's Bistro lol

I think the ground floor of the warehouse is the Estate agents, and there are a few apartments above it.

Yeah I liked it as the Joinery. Even though it only lasted one night. [emoji23] Good name.

I thought The Joinery was perfect, was a callback to when it was Turner's Joinery for 10 years  plus it didn't feel too out of place

Oddly, when the set was first built, this facade existed, but never appeared on screen

I don't think we did, when the show first moved, they purposefully didnt do wide shots, as they thought it would confuse people lol. I think it was soon covered up with scaffold for a few year. Which makes sense, since they first started designing the extension four weeks or so after finishing the new set, lol.

Was it only after finishing they thought "ooh we have loads of space let's make more" [emoji23]

Is it more to scale like the houses?

I think they just wanted to get the street done before thinking of doing more lol. I think everything on the street now is lifesize, whereas the old set used to be tiny

I suppose these are just photos and will expose the fakery and look very set-like. It'll probably look more convincing within the show itself as they will adopt filming techniques to hide things and we realise where, within the show, things are supposed to be.

One change that will likely go unnoticed is, the Brewery extension (that they've been building since forever!)

Aye, I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks in the show. I'm hoping they do some new titles too lol

Is that because the court facade is on the back of it?

I can't remember what it looked like before

Marsh.

I wish EE would get on with theirs.

The show could be so great but the BBC isn't interested.

I think they've made that building into a set workshop, where they build stuff for in the show

They announced they were building a new set ages ago but I've heard nothing since then

Oh cool.

Have they actually built a court exterior or is it not finished?

I think the court is on the 'Kitchener Street' side (next to the police station), but they've not really shown that area, it seems to be all about Victoria Street lol

Given the fact the characters constantly have coop bags I think they already have.

There's also an older Police station across the road from the newer looking one, not really shown in too many pictures

This seems to imply the Police Station/Kitchener Street is supposed to be in a different part of Weatherfield

The blue gate to the left, perhaps supposed to be where they bring suspects after arresting them.

The grey Victoria Court gate at the end of this little street, presumably a garage or something

That's what the entire precinct should've been IMO. Sets for different parts of Weatherfield, blocking them off with some clever editing/facades. it would've made the show seem more like a part of the wider world rather than simply giving them a little bit of a longer street for them to never leave.

Plans for a visitors centre for the tour have been announced, as well as having facilities like a pretend Rovers, a cinema to introduce the tour, the building will have a structure on the back end of it which can be used to place different facades, with these examples
