View Full Version : Why aren't Arron & Harry up?

The votes from the relatives left the housemates with these nominations:
Arron 5
Jem 4
Harry 3
Jay 2
Faye 2
Meaning Jem & Arron were the two with the highest and so they were up.
Now Jem leaves meaning the next two with the highest should be up, Arron & Harry.
But this would mean Aaron or Harry going home, BB doesn't want to lose either so instead they pick everyone with a nom :conf:
As far as I know BB have just make up this rubbish to protect Harry & Aaron. What other reasons are there for it not being Aaron & Harry up by themselves?

Has that ever happened before that you can recall, i mean a walkers noms cancelled?
I think it should either be:
Aaron vs Harry
Eviction cancelled
Whole house up
Preferably one of the latter two
Samuel.

Why is anyone up, is a better question.

An eviction has never gone ahead when it was a head to head and one walked either...they have never just moved onto the next person with the most votes. Eviction is canceled usually. :)
As people keep telling me, they are trying new things.
(I think they should have canceled it altogether, or put the whole house up personally.)

Should have been eviction cancelled for me, already a housemate has gone, there were no plans for a double eviction this week so this means 2 go in the same week. Ridiculous.
This now means all those who voted for Aaron since Tuesday have to do so again. Totally unfair.

People who voted in the Aaron V Jem eviction are being refunded...though god knows how long it will take.
If my votes from the first eviction arent refunded by friday then I wont be voting in this one.
I think some people have been refunded

Should've had the whole house up, or just canceled the eviction all together and have something like live nominations on the live show.

And Mark's noms were never discounted when he walked, not that it would have made a difference to Faye & Maisy being up, but his noms still stood. C5 never said otherwise.
So they made up this new rule to save Arron & Harry. Wow! This show is turning into a joke.

Well no, not really. They made up a new rule so that they could still rake in money from the votes...when really the eviction should have been cancelled.
It wouldnt have been Aaron V Harry, never before has an eviction moved onto the next highest number when one walks out of a head to head. So no rules were changed to save those two because they wouldnt have been head to head anyway...if they were, that would be a change in the rules in itself too

If they're trying to protect big characters they'd put the whole house up.
Sticking Jay and Faye into the mix still means a big character (at least in terms of house storylines and air time) will be going Friday.

I agree about money being the reason for this. I guess exploiting Aaron's fans wasn't earning them enough.
And I guess cancelling it would have been the fair thing to do, but that would have cost C5 a lot.

Were Marks? (He did nom before he went right..? can't remember for sure)

I dont think its happened before. But Marks might have been discounted...even if they were it wouldnt have changed who was up that week so we may not have been told.
However its also never happened before that when a housemate involved in a head to head eviction walks...the next person with the highest vote gets put up either. You would think the whole thing would just be cancelled but they clearly still want vote money this week

But we don't know about Marks?
I would be interested though to find out... it would tell me if this move to put all four of them up was intentioned to protect Aaron and Harry.
(because I do not buy into BB hating Aaron or any other HM... I buy into BB doing whatever is required at any given time to make what they want to be a interesting narrative. Sometimes this benefits a HM, sometimes it dosen't, but I don't accept that there is any other agenda or 'chosen ones')

But its not that. As never before when a housemate who has walked during a head to head eviction, has the eviction changed to being the next person with the highest votes either :conf: So its certainly not to protect Harry as he wouldnt have even been up in a head to head. The eviction should be cancelled. But they want cash...I think its really that simple :p
Plus BB told Jem that if she walked it would be the 4 up too...so it wasnt a last minute panic to try and save Harry either(was shown on BBOTS, dunno if you watch that or not)

Ever heard of them moving onto the next person with the most because someone has walked? The whole thing has never been done before...usually in this situation the whole eviction would be cancelled.
Anyway, we wont know about Marks...mostly as it would never have changed the result anyway...so there would be no need for them to show his being discounted...

Well, that one unprecedented response seems as valid as the next tbh, so that means they chose the option they did for a reason (rather then going with the other unprecendented solution).
This suggests to me they considered both options, neither having been done before, and choose the one that would shield the HMs they wanted shielded. Just my opinion though... But I guess that's all it is from anyone because we don't know.
usually in this situation the whole eviction would be cancelled.
I do accept that money is always a consideration as well, hence this oprion not being taken.

Tbf I think they had to make it up to Aaron and his fans by doing this because it was out of order having housemates family members nominating instead of the housemates who are contracted to nominate.
I personally think they did that twist this week though to protect Louise as they know that some people would try and tactically remove her.

I partially agree with this, particularly with the conspiracy types saying Jay is a chosen one etc.. I think this is particularly true with putting him up, knowing there's a fair chance he will go. If they were hell bent on having him in the final, they would have left it at Harry vs Aaron, no questions answered!
The first thing i read from C5, after Jem's leaving was anyone who received a nomination vote would now be up for eviction, and it went on to say because Louise, Tom, Alex did not receive any votes, they will not face a public vote. So it seems to me, the subtracting Jem's BF votes was actually an after thought.

I don't buy that, i think the reason why she was wanting to walk as long as she did, and never did, was more likely BB was trying to stall her (like they always do), and desperate for her to stay. Coz, the whole issuing of refunds would be a major pain in the ass for them.

Well tell me why, when ANY housemate says they want to leave, don't they just let em freely walk out the door? Why do you think they ALWAYS have em go through a stalling routine?

But how much of this "stalling routine" have we actually seen? It's so heavily edited with C5 it's how to know
Well, it doesn't exactly make for great telly watching a HM in the diary room for 10-20 mins per day, asking to leave. Following Twitter the last week or so, seems like Jem's been in and out of the Diary room every 5 mins! So, we can only summize that she was asking to leave, and BB was stalling, like what we've seen MANY TIMES in the past.
I'll answer my own questions, seeing u didn't have a shot. They stall em coz they have lots of money, time & storyline invested in each HM. The only pieces you're likely to see from the diary room edits of a HM wanting to leave, is BB running with their hippie mantra routine, of - just sleep on it, it's such a unique experience that u don't wanna give up, something to tell your grand kids about...blah blah...
When, behind the scenes the BB production team doesn't give a toss about each HM having this unique experience, it's all about keeping them there so they don't have the hassle of either replacing them, refunding voting money, writing new story lines, dealing with the fallout of losing a major cast member etc..
The reality is, until the day comes when a HM walks into the diary room, asks to leave, and BB opens the door straight away and say's "go", i don't believe they've EVER truly wanted a walker to go.

When the house was told who would be up after Jem decided to walk out. BB said it was everyone who had received a nomination. So it wasn't because Jem's votes were cancleed.
Also from Marcus (the voice of BB)

Harry would have attracted the anti-Aaron vote, which there is PLENTY of,especially after the last noms. Plenty now see Aaron as a barrier or threat to their HMs and would consider Harry a good winner of BB.

Well, you have missed the point. We won't.
We won't see what would have happened in a 1:1 simply because there are now so many up and the votes will get split. Those who would have supported Harry in a 1:1 now will be busy saying their own faves.
Sure, the Lou, Alex, and Tom votes have to go somehwre, but seeing as only Alex apparently has a decent body of fans the impact won't be anywhere near as severe as in a 1:1.
