Britney Spears will be awarded the BBMA Millennium Award and will perform a medley of hits, according to Usa Today.

The Billboard Music Awards are about to hit an artist one more time with one of their Millennium Awards — and this time the honoree is Britney Spears.

Meant to acknowledge outstanding career achievements and influence in the music industry, Billboard Millennium Awards was previously handed out to Whitney Houston (in 2012).

Spears has collected six Billboard Music Awards in the past, and had six albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 24 Top 40 singles charting on the Billboard Hot 100 (five of which went to No. 1).

Spears will perform a medley of her hits at the show, which will be hosted by Ludacris and Ciara. The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas May 22 on ABC, at 8 PM ET and 5 PM PT. The huge announcement y'all??

It's been over a year since we last hear new material from Britney - when she appeared on Iggy Azalea's summer jam 'Pretty Girls'... and now we're getting restless.

But the wait is almost over - the first track from Britney Spears' ninth studio album will be called 'Make Me' and is set to drop on May 20th!

The track, previously called 'Make Me Ooh', will be revealed before Brit's performance at the Billboard Music Awards after months of speculation. A source has also revealed that the music video for the track is also ready to go - and Britney's in the best shape of her life in the promo.


We already know that Britters will be belting out a medley of her biggest hits at the ceremony in Las Vegas on 22nd May - but could we be seeing the first live performance of 'Make Me' too?

Britney Spears is ready to give birth—to her new album.

"It's very exciting," the pop music megastar told me earlier today. "I've been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It's my baby."

What should we expect? "It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy," Brit said of what will be her ninth studio album. "It's kind of chill. Very chill."

I caught up with Spears exclusively on the set of her music video for the album's first single, "Make Me (Oooh)," a collaboration with rapper G-Eazy.

Directed by David LaChapelle, expect to see lots of skin. In a pic that Spears posted on Instagram of her and G-Eazy, she showed off her killer body in a barely there ensemble.

When we chatted, Spears, 34, was wearing a nude bodysuit with a black lace overlay and thigh-high boots. "This is just what I'm wearing to go eat lunch," she joked.

"Make Me (Oooh)" will likely drop next month followed by the full album in the fall.

My IG has not been hacked! This is actually my photo. "It's Britney bitch", is the first line from the song, and I heard that about a thousand times while working on the "Gimme More" music video that Britney Spears put out about ten years ago. An odd set of circumstances led me to be the still photographer on set for this video, and it was as strange as you might of imagined. This scene was cut from the video, but it was the best part of the day for me because Britney was not stressed out. She was going thru some overly publicized personal drama, and I realized that this is just some sweet midwestern girl who was surrounded by a small army of "industry people" with an invested interest in keeping the "drama" going, to make sure they continue to capitalize on someone else's misfortune. Sure, it's something that potentially comes with being a celebrity, but if you aren't a very strong willed person, it can chew you up, and spit you out with not a care in the world. The whole experience was very surreal and eye opening to say the least. I'll never forget the sea of vulture like paparazzi trying to get a shot of the emotionally vulnerable "pop star", and being approached by them with a sizable offer to sell them my images from the shoot. It is by far the most money I have been offered for my photographs, however, I would never be a part of something that I feel is the exact opposite of the craft I have spent my life developing. The very definition of the difference between being a photographer, and someone who takes pictures. People are free to do what they want, but exploiting people is not something that I would want someone to do to me, so I would never do that to someone else. Apologies for the long rant, it's just a subject that means a lot to me. And guess who ended up selling my photos (for a lot of money) to the paparazzi!? Hint, in the form of a quote, by my favorite m.c., R.A. The Rugged Man, "Every record label sucks dick!". Day 168.

Life Over: Britney’s Single “Make Me (Oooh)” Reportedly Delayed Due To Vocal Issues

Britney’s new single faces yet another setback..

The last story BreatheHeavy published alluded to Britney possibly releasing her forthcoming single, titled “Make Me (Oooh)” this week. It was sent to German radio, and where there’s smoke… there’s fire. Unfortunately, a new report from The Sun drenched the rumors – they claim a source has indicated the single will not be released in the very near future because record execs don’t like how her voice sounds on it.

A source says: “The single has been a nightmare for everybody involved. When it came down to the final version of the track, the label just didn’t like her voice and the producers were struggling to make it work with the recordings they had.” Team Britney desperately wants the song in rotation for summer airplay, so they’ve held several emergency meetings to discuss their options.

“They’ve tried to find someone to add some guest vocals to strengthen the track instead of finding time in Britney’s schedule to re-record – but they’ve really struggled. It’s been very stressful, the track should have been out a long time ago now.” Last month, the Las Vegas Sun reported her new single would premiere at the Billboard Music Awards, then later cited production delays as to why it wouldn’t.

“I’m reliably told that technical production difficulties outside Brit and her management’s control have caused a delay in the scheduled release of the video and single until later this summer,” they said at the time. “She is like us truly saddened that matters outside our hands have set back the hoped-for schedule. We’re told that it’ll now be later in the summer, but we don’t even know exactly when yet until production hiccups are resolved.” This completely contradicts our German Radio story. And why film a music video? Why promote “Private Show?” Perhaps they’re throwing us off their scent?

POP royalty Britney Spears looks set to finally kick off her new era in style after being lined up to perform at the Video Music Awards later this year.

If secured the gig will finalise the star's return to the top after her high-profiled breakdown in 2007.

The last time she performed at the VMA's she was criticised for being "out of shape" and her lacklustre dance moves.

However, in May this year the Work Bitch singer proved she has still got it after kicking off the Billboard Music Awards with a high-energy routine in front of a celeb filled crowd.

A source told Daily Star Online: "Show bosses are always trying to make the show bigger and better and with Britney and G*g* they believe they can do that.

"Britney hasn't performed at the awards since her infamous 2007 performance so signing her will be a ratings slam-dunk.

"She was on bosses hit list anyway, but after her Billboard Music Awards medley she is their number one target."

It is believed Britney's long awaited new single Make Me (Oooh) will finally drop on Friday June (:skull: ) 15.

The track which features G-Eazy was initially set for release earlier this year though reports suggested issues with the production are to blame for the single being pushed back.

A rep for Britney Spears and some other woman has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
