You clearly do not understand human nature. It's incredibly naive of you to not recognize that for a large percentage of human beings, significant political and social environmental decisions are made largely based on group identity/commonality. This is especially noticeable in Britain where the majority of British people vote based on what class they belong to - and I'm certainly not saying that this is a good thing. Just that it happens. It also completely explains why in the last two U.S. presidential elections, black Americans almost exclusively have voted for Obama.

In Big Brother Canada, Topaz is unquestionably the most inattentive individual in the house. The only time that she has ever bothered to talk game was to support the one person in the house that she most identifies with. It is absolutely no coincidence that they happen to share the same ethnicity.

Another problem with this is that surely this could turn into a really easy backdoor of a big player? Tom won't even have had to have planned it throughout the week, he makes a big move and sticks someone like Alec (or someone else idk I haven't watched the feeds in two days) and hopes that everyone takes the opportunity to get rid of them, which seems awfully unfair. Then again I think Tom's support in the house is slipping so it might put a big target on his back.

I think Gary's gone if he's not immune. Awful.

The upcoming downfall of Tom being plotted by his own allies is coming and he hasn't got a clue, and that is far more interesting than bringing back a whining nobody who adds nothing to the show other than being unable to handle being nominated in what was nothing more than tic for tac until she made it out to be much bigger.

It would be quite funny if the HGs all get really pissed off and all still vote to evict Suzette, not recognising Canada's Veto.

On the positive though other than the final couple of minutes it was a great episode, even if this twist pretty much renders the whole week pointless. Loved the bad meal task.

People (and producers) just aren't seeing the big picture here. It would be far more interesting to let this play out naturally and far more rewarding in the end when Tom gets the boot, likely down to a betrayal by an allie rather than a vendetta by an enemy.

I'm going old school here but the reason BBUK was a success was because the Nasty Nick situation played out naturally. Had producers caught him earlier, warned him, turned off the hot water and then possibly ejected him without the housemates finding things out for themselves it would have been far less satisfying to watch.

It's not a boring storyline. It's literally the only conflict we have going on at the moment so there's no need for terminate it. It wasn't even a tic for tac considering the circumstances were completely different. Tom sucks so good for Suzette sticking it to him, she's righteous and is the only person doing something about it. Everyone plotting Tom's downfall isn't even that exciting because it's going to happen. He never had a chance to win this game and we need the instant gratification of Suzette being saved just to see the look of horror on Tom's face when someone else walks out the door. It's going to be a BB classic, just like Jeff getting evicted in BBUS and Conor crying over Arron's eviction in BBUK. If you're still complaining about the fact that it renders this whole week pointless, welcome to Big Brother. This isn't the first time it happened and it's not going to be the last time.

So true - they handled that completely fairly and making them have nots was a real punishment that punishes those responsible, not everyone.

AJ and Talla have both come close, it's not totally out of the question! :bigsmile:

That said as much as I'd like those three to make some sort of underdog alliance, Andrew manages to pull in Emmett and in turn, Jillian, I still think that a "predictable" final 6 of Alec, Peter, Topaz, Gary, Emmett and Jillian would still be a really decent and complex endgame.

Maybe I'm just super optimistic, but I've enjoyed this season probably more than the last 3 seasons of the US show combined.

Pretty boring. Obviously gave AJ a task to make him more interesting. Topaz has never been up once but she has the nerve to attack Suzette for being down when she has been up 3 times. PoVs are always strength based and Emmitt wins every one. The whole every one must go with what the house says is quite boring. It just shows how much in this American format someone can control the whole house, that's why maybe the public vote twist was put in, but it just isn't used enough. Peter is so aggravating in the DR and he seems to revel in it. If the winner of HoH or Veto was anonymous they could then decide whatever they wanted without consequences perhaps. With the whole gameplay aspect it can just make some of them look a bit cold and boring. I thought the cast was good at the start but maybe it's getting weaker as time goes by.

Doesn't affect the live feeds. Slice is a cable channel in Canada either available as a standalone channel or as part of a package (I'm not sure which). Since BB began they've been airing a "Free preview" - but will encrypt the channel again at the end of the month so are hoping BB fans will be hooked in to subscribe. Must say looking at their schedule BB is probably the only thing worth subscribing for.


A little moan here (and BBUSA do it too) but I wish the recaps at the beginning of the show didn't go back so far. Tom and Liza's eviction weren't really relevent at all in tonight's show so why spend the first minute recapping them - all they need to recap really is the HoH comp and noms.

I don't know why any one is complaining, AJ was a waste of space, I'm glad he's gone. Here here - and chances are he'll bloody win this thing. Really hate to how the show almost solely comes from the diary room - we see how the HMs react to things away from each other but don't see enough of their reactions when the events themselves happen - for example we had Peter SHOUTING how unusual it was for Topaz to be called to the HoH room alone yet didn't really see how she and the HMs reacted to that announcement.

Good show tonight though that instant eviction could easily have been done in the last 15-20 minutes of the "live" show on Thursday, avoiding a blackout on the feeds.

That announcer is always like 'AND TUNE IN FOR A BIG TWIST THAT WILL CHANGE THE GAME COMPLETELY' on weeks and with people that really are totally irrelevant and aren't at all important and it's just like :bored: they've wasted all the twists when they weren't needed and now we're about to lose the most entertaining houseguest...what a joke
