View Full Version : So Dexter Can't Have Children

Ace

In another of their heated relationship conversations Dexter said he would happily marry Charlie and have artificial insemination with her.

This would mean he can't have children unaided. Well this would explain the thing he was trying to tell her secretly last week and his bits do seem to be very small.

Dropping it into a conversation like this at such a late stage in the show must mean he wants the public to know and the only reason for that is he wants sympathy votes.

As a PR person (allegedly) I think he could have played the entire game better with this Pièce de résistance up his sleeve.

Its Charlie that can't have children, she had to have an ovary removed due to cancerous cells and even if she did conceive she doesn't know if she can carry a child to full term.

Jackie spoke about this in the heated argument with another hm (Jemima?) very early on.

It was the same one where she said that Charlie's grandmother died in her arms or somesuch.

It is creepy Reece, very.

These people don't know each other, not really, they know very little if anything of each others backgrounds, families, they aren't even in a relationship ffs.

Callum would have been ripped to shreds on here if he said that to Charlie

Would this be the secret he was gonna tell Charlie before she got on the sofa for eviction, and then didnt?

Or would it be the secret that he told everyone they would find out when he gets out?

His 'secret' seems to be that he doesnt have a secret lol

And more importantly than that.....why would anyone care? Do you really think Charlie wants to have kids with him when she clearly doesnt fancy him??

This is just another attempt at trying to make him a sympathetic character

I for one, dont care whether he can have kids or not? why would I?

He knows Sam has destroyed him and he is desperately trying to hold on to what he thinks is a sure win
I wouldnt be surprised if he tells the HM's tonight that he has a terminal illness

he seems to have no barriers when it comes to other peoples personal space, the girl has said she doesnt fancy him and not only is he insinuating that she is lying, he is now talking about her medical issues in the context of being prepared to get her pregnant through a tube????

OMG as Gina would say

It doesnt matter what context this was in, even if she brought it up and said I will have to do it like that if I want kids, he has NO right to say that to her at all, dirty little weasel!

Its Charlie that can't have children, she had to have an ovary removed due to cancerous cells and even if she did conceive she doesn't know if she can carry a child to full term.

it is possible to get pregnant with only one ovary? I had an ectopic pregnancy many years ago and had a fallopian tube and ovary removed and I got pregnant again, I miscarried but all the same it is still possible.

Big Brother contestant Charlie Travers has opened up about having her cervix and an ovary removed after two cancer scares, saying that she "100% would not be alive" if she had waited to be screened at the recommended age of 25.

The receptionist, who entered the house with her mother Jackie, said she auditioned for the show because she wanted to "embrace life to the max" after her health issues.

"I've had quite a tough time in the last seven years health-wise and now I feel I can embrace life to the max," she told New. "When I was 15 I had my left ovary removed because I had a gigantic cyst that was about to explode.

"During a smear test [at the age of 24] in 2011, they found my entire cervix was covered in pre-cancer of the highest grade.

"I had most of my cervix completely removed, but three or four months later I went for a check-up and it had all come back, so I had to have it all taken out.

"If I hadn't gone for an early smear and had waited until I was 25, I 100% would not be alive."

Charlie and Jackie Travers enter the Big Brother house

Asked if she is still able to have children, Travers replied: "I can conceive naturally, but I'm not sure if I can carry a baby full term."

59-year-old Jackie echoed her daughter's comments about why they went on Big Brother, saying: "We had been through quite hard times with Charlie's health problems and now we're over that we wanted to start afresh".

Sorry to hear that Tozzie

Was going to say this ^ Having an ovary removed wouldn't mean she can't carry to term either. It's a tough thing to deal with (I've been there) thinking you can't have children but the reality is no one knows if they can have children until they try and although she may have been told she might not be able to have children doesn't mean she can't and it is a bit creepy and a little patronising of Dexter to bring it up on national TV.

Dexter - If I don't think of you in that way then why the **** am I still bothered and why am I still chasing you like a little lost puppy

Charlie - Because.......I (the I is dragged out in normal Charlie style)

They are still talking here but the shot goes to Gina and Sam in the tree house listening to them

Charlie - I care because I adore you

Dexter - I don't I don't care, I would quite happilly be in a relationship with you, ****ing possibly even ****ing marry you you can have ****ing artificial ins....

Cuts back to Gina and Sam laughing and Sam says he wishes he had some confetti to throw over them.

20 Minutes later..

Charlie - What a waste of time then, can't believe I even wasted my breath talking about that again to you, to the housemates, up there.

Dexter - Thanks

Charlie - What do you mean thanks, shut up.

Charlie goes on to say they are incredibly lucky to be here and screw worrying about things, Dexters intentions how he feels about her etc....

Dexter - Do you want me to end it? end your confusion here and now

Charlie - No - Yeah actually no I do want to hear it, is it what you were going to tell me before we sat on the sofas because that ****ing pissed me off aswell

Dexter - At the end of my speech whatever what I was going to say was that, that I truly love you Charlie Travers

Charlie - Ohhh shut up

Right after pausing and playing that constantly to type that up ^^^

I'm wondering if Charlie was the one to initially bring that up, that's what this could mean:

Charlie - What a waste of time then, can't believe I even wasted my breath talking about that again to you, to the housemates, up there.

If that's the case then that could be why Dexter said what he did about the artificial imsemination....

He goes beyond the pale in his effort to win.
If he is a Public Relations man he needs not to air someone's personal life in this way and that goes for Charlie's mother too.

Also he seems not to be aware that Charlie is not interested in him sexually, she has said there is no attraction that way so why is he talking about having babies with her?

'She doesn't think she can'. This means she has no idea.

Having one ovary does not make a woman infertile... she will still produce an egg every month with her good ovary, so God knows why Dexter has brought up artificial insemination ... he could get still get her pregnant the conventional way (god help us). As many other people have said the whole convo is very strange indeed. No-one in that house knows each other well enough to even consider being parents.

We girls are born with the amount we get which is why as ladies get older they have problems conceiving as the ovaries start to deteriorate.

It's also possible to produce more than one egg (fraternal twins) plus there are drugs that can make you produce more. (During IVF the drugs can make you produce up to 30ish).

Ah right yeh that makes sense. What I don't get though is why are there 2 ovaries? Cos are they those things at the top like at the end next to the Fallopian (sp?) tubes? Do they take it in turns or something? Is it possible for both to release at the same time?

They don't take it in turns really, one ovary can release several times in a row. It depends which one has te maturest egg to release. It is possible they will both release in the same month but it doesn't happen that often

Yep it could happen and they would be fraternal (non identical twins) and in essence it can happen on different days. Eggs are only viable for fertilisation for 24 hours but sperm are viable for longer (up to 72 hours) so if two eggs are released 48 hours apart they could theoretically both fertilise and implant.

Sleazy slime ball. Definitely the biggest creep this year in fact possibly of any year. :yuk:

We girls are born with the amount we get which is why as ladies get older they have problems conceiving as the ovaries start to deteriorate.

Actually no.

Girls are not born with eggs per se but follicles. Once they reach menstruation they release thousands of these and only one will actually mature into an egg.

Older woman release more of these which can result in more than one ovary being created, which is why it is pretty common for older woman (35+) to fall pregnant with twins. (Non-identical twins btw).

So older woman are more likely to create 2 eggs at a time, without fertility treatment, than just the one when they are younger.

I think Dexter has merely misunderstood the situation.

Charlie seemed to find the artificial insemination comment very funny. :D

What chairlie has, well what it sounds like to me is Endometriosis. And you can have kids....I have it....I have also had a massive cyst and my ovary removed...you just loose about 30% of chance of getting pregnant....you just have to plan it right. Thants what the Doctors told me! :D
