It's k, I only planned on making it, but whatevs.
Rumours are Geri Halliwell as of writing, but I doubt it will be true, no doubt it'll be ****e. I rarely support UK songs these days. Last year with Marry Me, Gravity
And ew that Albania song sucks, I bet it does better than last year when that slayed.

Some years I just watch casually, some years I really get into it. Not sure yet which it'll be this time. I do kind of miss watching it with friends and keep our own score for all the songs.
Italy has selected an artist called 'Emma" but the song has not been released.
I hope the UK get someone good this year, last years D:

Oh and I don't know how much of a legit source they are, but our act has been selected and is Scottish apparently (Chvrches pls, lol won't hold my breath) so it will most likely be the Proclaimers or SuBo with the way we are sending acts these days.

I believe it's an unsigned artist, rather than somebody who has had prior success from it such as Florence and Marina.
Either way, this could be the UK's turnaround in Eurovision if it all goes well.

MARINA?! *cries tears of joy*
Black Dagger

Florrie is gorgeous.
tbh, not many songs so far sound like winners at this stage, it seemed obvious that Loreen and Emelle would go on to slay it as soon as they were chosen. I'd hardly be surprised if we got top 5 if the song is good, from the blog it sounds like they are making a big deal out of it and are determined to win over the public and win the contest as well, rather than it just being a waste of their time so they just send whatever..
If a current artist does well, it'll encourage others around to want to do it next year, the year after and we can make a real stamp on the contest again after so long, can't wait for Monday.
Lily would be good but idk if she was in bbc introducing :/
What if it's jake bugg? D:

I'm always excited to hear Greece's line up of songs as normally they are really good but this year 3/4 of the choices are s*it, theres only one song the public can pick on the 11th of March that has any chance of doing well!
Crystallia - Petalouda Stin Athina (translates to Butterflies to Greece)

Black Dagger
06-03-2014, 11:07 AM
Really wouldn't be surprised if they dropped out tbh, they've still not chose a song or made any reference as to when they plan on doing so.
They've also switched to internal selection because in their competition they thought that none of the songs entered were good enough.
Talk about being despicable...

is Russia going to get kicked out
Very unlikely, them dropping out by their own choice wouldn't surprise me though, they cut a national final this year because they felt the standard of the entries weren't up to scratch and they've not even made it clear what they are doing now, I'm going by Wiki saying they are choosing today for them, which says it all.

Gives Molly a better chance though tbf, although I doubt a Big 5 country will ever win again since viewers only get to hear their song once.
And Azerbaijan just buy all their votes, so no they're not winning lol. The rules on voting were tightened but I can't remember exactly what it was all about. Something to do with other countries helping each other gain votes and vice versa.

Lena won a few years ago, so they still stand ~some~ chance, just not as great.
Molly' chances depend on her draw tbh. She has 2 more chances of being in the 2nd half. So hopefully she gets it, or is late on in the first half.

Look at this eurovision-based poll that users from all over Europe get to allocate points to their favourite songs (ESC voting style):

http://www.tummiweb.com/scorewiz/scoreboard/view/86210/scorewiz-poll-2014-all-vote-for-all
They got the winner right in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. In 2008 they picked Sweden and in 2011 Hungary.
Looking good for Molly :amazed: And apparently she confirmed on BBC Radio 2 and on Twitter that she's going on a promotional tour! She could win it this year if everything falls into place.

That is brilliant news Hayden
It really does depend on her draw, if she gets a late slot... 19th/20th with brilliant staging and stunning vocals then I'm confident in saying she has top 3 sewn up. But I do believe the draw is vital. A late first half wouldn't worry me either tho.

So Lucas, do you think Molly has a chance of taking it this year now that we know all the songs?
It's hard to say at this stage, I think she's got more of a chance than we've had in years, more so than Jade imo. But like I just stated above, she needs a late draw just to really benefit, I think the juries are going to love her though and she seems to have Europe on board. And she's actually my favourite this year, and I haven't liked an entry since Scooch, so she's doing something right, I like to think we stand a good chance. Top 10 really shouldn't be out of the question, would be disappointed with any lower than that, unless she's ****e live on the night like Jemini bad, then she'd deserve it I suppose.

San Marino need to learn to stop jamming in the same artist every year, they only started in 2011 with a different artist and since 2012 they've had valentina  seriously, if you want to qualify, don't put someone in that have a shockingly bad start. Its because they are having sex there is why, Straight couples tend not to do this. When they do, like dogging, most people find it revolting and would drive by a bit quicker if they thought it was going on.

I feel it is vital for Molly to get a late running order to have any chance of winning like someone mentioned before. You just have to look at the pattern the last number of years!
2013 - Denmark - Performed 18th
2012 - Sweden - Performed 17th
2011 - Azerbaijan - Performed 19th
2010 - Germany - Performed 22nd
2009 - Norway - Performed 20th
2008 - Russia - Performed 24th

Yeah, I really hope she gets drawn second half but she only has 2 chances to get drawn in the second half since Denmark were drawn in the second half already, and the rules state that 3 of the 'big 6' must perform in the first half and 3 in the second half.
And looking at our previous luck with the draw, it doesn't look so good.

Prepare yourselves! Eurovision rolls into London this weekend as 21 of the acts participating at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest will be performing at the London Preview Party at Café de Paris on Sunday night. Eurovision preview parties are a growing phenomenon that began here in the UK back in 2008. They have become a major part of the Eurovision Song Contest preparation and promotion circuit.
Broadcasters and record labels across Europe flock to get their acts on stage, woo the local media and try to pick up a few extra votes that could make all the difference as they wait for a douze points or two on the big night in May.
If this weekend’s event in Amsterdam is anything to go by, all eyes will be on our home-town girl Molly and former British X Factor finalist and London-based Ruth Lorenzo representing Spain. Over 1,500 fans from across Europe travelled to the Netherlands to see some of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest entrants perform their songs.
The two stand-out acts on the night were Ruth and (let’s not get carried away yet), Molly with her anthemic entry, Children of the Universe.
Molly has been having a ball in the last couple of weeks, signing a record deal with Warner Music and rising up the betting charts ahead of the competition. Judging by the reaction of the crowd in Amsterdam, Molly is set to take the United Kingdom back towards the top of the scoreboard in Copenhagen. Hot favourites Armenia and Norway failed to match her in terms of crowd reaction as the concert hall erupted for Molly.
Latvia’s entry went big in the hall and there is a chance the Eurovision winning song could be about how to bake a cake! Who said Eurovision grew up? And to be honest, who really wants it to?
Another of Molly’s biggest rivals is set to be Ruth Lorenzo, who was mentored by Dannii Minogue in the UK’s X Factor where she placed fifth. Ruth won the right to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest and her powerful ballad ‘Dancing in the Rain’ has already hit number one on the Spanish charts. She lifted the roof in Amsterdam by hitting every big note and sending the crowd euronuts!
Other acts heading to London from Amsterdam are Greek representatives Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd (who is also a born and bred Londoner), Austria’s Conchita Wurst who is quickly becoming a fan favourite as the drag queen with a beard and a brilliant voice and Norway’s Carl Espen with his big ballad ‘Silent Storm’.

Her music video is the best of Eurovision 2014 imo, so I have high hopes for her staging, she definitely needs to use it. She needs to move around, get the audience participating in the 'POWER TO THE PEOPLE' bits and she's ready to slay that top 5.

I agree! I'm thinking her outfit should be a flowy white dress, loads of jewellery with and no shoes just her barefoot.
Think something like this...

Confirmed news -
The armenian representative for Eurovision (the bookies favourite) will perform alone on stage with no backup singers or dancers.
Source (http://armenpress.am/eng/news/759702/on-stage-of-eurovision-2014-aram-mp3-will-be-alone.html)
also..
Russia complain that Austria is turning Eurovision into hotbed of sodomy. There's even petitions calling for the performance by Austria's Eurovision entry Conchita Wurst to not be broadcast, they have gained thousands of signatures.
The choice of bearded lady Wurst has caused outrage among some competing nations including Russia where a petition has been launched that complains she has turned the show into a "hotbed of sodomy". Other similar petitions have also been launched in Ukraine and Belarus, countries where like in Russia anti-gay sentiments are common.
The Russian petition reads:
"The popular international competition that our children will be watching has become a hotbed of sodomy at the initiation of the European liberals. Russia is one of the only European countries that has managed to maintain normal and healthy family values based on love and mutual support between MEN and WOMEN.
That is why we are against the Eurovision 2014 to be broadcast in Russia."
The petition follows the angry statement made by Armenia's entry to the competition, 29-year-old Aram Sargsyan, better known by his stage name Aram Mp3, who described Conchita Wurst as "abnormal" and "unsuitable to take part in the event".

About Armenia's rehearsal (first rehearsal on this amazing stage)
Armenia
Aram MP3 - Not Alone
The stage floor was rather like the night sky, awash with blues and twinkling stars. The screens behind him were alive with graphic imagery, replicating the stage floor with swirling astral patterns and shapes. His act begins with him standing centre stage in what looks like an energy orb, with six blue rays shining down over him and camera angles that make it look like a ring of light from above.
The backdrop changed dramatically after the build up and once the thundering drum beats kick in, changing to vibrant reds with boxed images on screen.
The stage itself is cavernous - with the backdrop resembling an open book behind the acts.
After the colour change from blue to red, Aram almost becomes lost on stage for much of the time, with only his silhouette being visible. The staging would greatly benefit with a toning down of the backdrop, more in fitting with the moody feel of the song.
