New market trader Donna Yates. Will take on Kat and Bianca.
EastEnders is to introduce a new disabled character.
Former Grange Hill actress Lisa Hammond will play tough market trader Donna Yates, who declares war on stall holders Bianca Butcher (Patsy Palmer) and Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), and the 31-year-old star is looking forward to playing a 'bad' character.
She said: 'I'm really excited to join EastEnders. Donna is a bit of a handful but they are always the most fun characters - it feels good to be bad.

I think a new tv trope that's become a cliché is to have characters in wheelchairs who are unpleasant/ spikey/ nasty to avoid the old nicey wicey person in a wheelchair trope. However, I am glad the actress won the role on merit so no one can say EE is being PC.

OMG:D.
Hopefully her character won't be defined by the disability, but it is nice to see a disabled character on EE.

But you have just defined her by her disability: "....it is nice to see a disabled character on EE." Rather than defining her by her persona! :joker:
