I don't watch Hollyoaks but I always tune in for the stunts. I can't quite believe how many there are and how much money gets spent on a show that only scrapes about a million viewers.
The bus crash was sensational though.

Kim is a great addition, Big Bob is really cringeworthy so I hope he dies. Grace and Esther are amazing together, we'll probably lose Esther though to give Grace more wallowing in self pity scenes at the fact she's been robbed of another chance to have a baby.

I agree. I think it helped that Carmel was Bryan Kirkwood's original creation, it's the first death he's done since he returned which you can tell he's really spent time on.

Jennifer Metcalfe says Mercedes' exit is 'amazing' so I doubt it's a cab/bus job although I'd prefer that to be honest. To have two of the McQueens leave at similar times, they either both should have left together in a big plot or one should get a big one (Carmel) and the other should get a smaller one (Mercedes) as consolation for having a job to return to.

It doesn't say anything else apart from Freddie murdering someone because they threaten to reveal all about his and Lindsey's affair, and Mercedes knows about it so perhaps we're led to believe she's been murdered until the ending scene of an episode when she walks through an airport or is on a plane, ala Clare and Myra.
