There's not much competition tonight, apart from Skyfall on ITV which was played only a couple of weekends on ITV, so unless people feel the need to watch a film the watch only 2 weeks ago! James Bond is pretty boring once you have seen the film once! So hopefully it can get maybe 2.5-6.
Way too high can't see it getting more than 2.2m being a Saturday even with tonights explosive episode

An explosive and controversial #CelebrityBigBrother pulled in 2.25m/11.6% to Channel 5 from 10pm. Great numbers for a Saturday

Fantastic figure and share for 10PM.. must be one of the most viewed Saturdays in the past four years?

It managed to get higher than the Dappy/Luisa argument, and i think that aired at 9PM last year on a Saturday

Brilliant.

This might make me look like an optimistic fool, but I think tonight could get near 3m. We saw a inflated figure the day after Daley was ejected too

Confirmed by bigblagger last nights cbb was the highest rated episode on a Saturday since cbb8 in 2011

Last year CBB 13 first Saturday got 1.85 (9.3%), so it is up by 400,000.

An CBB 11 first Saturday got 2.07 however a (9.3%)

Very impressive. I reckon around 2.7m tonight. If the events happened tonight, I would have guessed a 3m rating.

Any news on what the papers are saying? Any coverage? I think The Sun is covering it judging by a tweet I saw.

If the show was to get an 11.6% share tonight, based on last Sundays's 9pm slot it would get 2.77m!

Yes, front page on the Sun which is a huge newspaper, and front page on the Daily Star. Those two and the daily Mirror are covering it a lot, and of course all the websites like Digital Spy, Reality Box, etc. However In disappointing I'm the Mail online, they have not made a big story considering how many articles are on there.

I will check what jump the rating got in the Daley thing got in the after math.

Will.
11-01-2015, 10:02 AM
The aftermath got 1.77 which is very high for BB, which normally gets like 1.1 -1.4, so about 2.5 maybe for tonight.

Always the way isn't it. The massive arguments take place on a Saturday lol.

I agree if this episode was on tonight it would break the 3 million mark. Such an impressive share for last night and the highest rated Saturday in 4 years!

When people were saying the ratings were going to tail off and would be below 2 million by now I had every faith the show would continue its success.

This year seems to have a dedicated following already.

If you all say that not many people watch on Saturday, (not disagreeing, I just don't know these things), why didn't BB just put last nights show on tonight seeing as the arguments were technically yesterday.

They were at 2AM or something if I believe correctly?

It may have made for a boring show last night, but there was things like face to face noms, Nadia and Perez hating on Katie...I'm sure they could of made something out of it

So annoying Channel 5 was 150k from being the most watched channel at 10PM last night, unfortunately a bloody repeat of Skyfall got 2.40 on ITV.

Not much competition tonight apart from Last Tango In Halifax on BBC One at 9PM.

Well it Defo beat Channel 4 by 1.25 M, and it beat BBC Two, it beat BBC one from 10:20 onwards as Casualty was still on with 4 M until 10:20. And it didn't beat ITV, so yeah.

+1 (322k/1.9%)

2.6922 - 12.5%

It's clear that a lot of people thought it was on at 10PM judging by +1.

Pretty sure we'll be getting some 3ms in the officials :clap1:

Tonight it's against broadchurch however. Could be an issue though I don't know if the two shows really share the same demographic- but it could just mean a larger plus one figure.

Just so you know I've done my latest post on the site (awaiting conformation of post) which I'll add here! and I've tried to include demographic facts to make people aware of the show's current success. From what I suggest, TellyMix are frequent to put down the show's ratings, however as my article will show, this years Celebrity Big Brother is on set to be the most watched in recent history (and that's without the 11 repeats, AND official ratings!)

Do you mean beginning on the same airing e.g. This year's Wednesday launch, in line with the previous CBB's wednesday, or just day for day, e.g up to day 5 for both series, as these will probably produce different results.

Great for CBB! Well, I could even say fantastic. It's up over 350,000 on the equivalent of last January.

What makes it better is that I read the Broadcast write up of the ratings and they said something along the lines as "The only thing which came close to BBC and the ITV dramas was Channel 5s Celebrity Big Brother, pulling a crowd of 2.7m". It makes CBB look really good and a success for those reading the Broadcast site.

That's very decent. CBB actually dented Broadchurch and SW which were done quite a bit, as was The Undateables. However, all 5 channels did well. All 5 main channels did well in the 9pm slot. The lowest was BBC2 with 1.9m, then 2.1m for CH4. So everyone did well in the slot anyway.

I predict 2.6m tonight.

Why do you think it would be so high? I think the peak would be 2.7m (as it got that for the Jeremy aftermath)

Jake.
13-01-2015, 10:54 AM
I see your point, but the Jeremy aftermath didn't make headline news on 3 papers (it's also on the front of the metro).. Still, 3 million does seem a bit high.. 2.6-2.8 I reckon

daniel-lewis-1985
13-01-2015, 11:05 AM
I don't think the Ken Morley thing will make people tune in in fact I think last nights episode has the possibility to turn viewers away.

I for one got very angry and close to switching over due to the constant talk of political correctness and it just wasn't an enjoyable episode.

Controvercy doesn't always do the show favours seen after the drop off in ratings after Jade left CBB and the many series that followed.

Kai Anders
14-01-2015, 03:14 PM
such strong ratings for this series. I'm hoping, when official ratings are released it tops the 3million mark. Last year's winter edition of the show got 2.99m viewers for it's first week in officials. I think it's also impressive that the current run hasn't gone below 2 million for a night, that happened on only the second day for CBB13! Remember to check out http://bigbrother247.co.uk/category/ratings/ for all the latest!

Kai Anders
14-01-2015, 03:26 PM
Celebrity Big Brother's first week in overnight figures are as follows, with CBB13 figures opposite;

3.26M (3.4M) -
2.35M (1.85M) +
2.55M (2.33M) +
2.31M (2.43M) -
2.25M (2.31M) -
2.69M (2.63M) +
2.44M (2.34M) +
2.53M (2.54M) -

CBB 15 = 2.57M (11.5%)
CBB 13 = 2.48M (10.8%)

So it's up nearly 100K on the previous run, and with an increase of 0.7% viewing, despite the fact that more than ever, less people are watching TV Live, and are catching up on demand services, I think the series will storm in both overnights and officials!

daniel-lewis-1985
14-01-2015, 03:42 PM
These are strong and with a lot of people watching on TiVo to skip the ads I presume the officials will be the highest we have seen since the channel took over.

I allways record the show and then start playing it at 20 past does this count me out of a live viewer and will be added to officials?

Jake.

Wont name names but theres a certain TIBB member who is seriously doing my nut in.

They are constantly on Twitter saying they don't watch the show as its terrible yet slating how bad its ratings are on a daily basis and slating the show itself saying Viacom will not be happy with this.

How anyone can say ratings wise this show is failing needs their heads checked not only is it outperforming CBB13 but its also helped the other shows on the Channel and on occasions beating ITV! and winning its time slots. One day it was even the most watched channel overall.

Their shares have gone from shows which hold 2% of the viewers or whatever to a show that's getting 10%/13%.

Im stumped how people come up with the opinion that the show is a flop. I see Tellymix backtracked after their scathing report on their ratings aswell.

These figures genuinely make me so happy, to see once again that the show we all know and love is fairing so well against competition. The fact it's beaten ITV almost every other day is just fantastic! Okay so the ratings aren't as they used to be but IMO a show that's in it's 15th run, and after such a poor previous year, whilst holding between 10-15% of the market, most of which are young viewers, which means stronger advertising revenue is FANTASTIC! Long live CBB! Let's just hope Viacom's directions take BBUK the same way!

CBB is holding up amazingly.

With the renewed press intrest, now Des hasn't got his claws on the exclusives, i think it will continue to rise.

I think it's fab that the sun are now covering it as front page news regularly. First time in years its had this kind of publicity from the country's best selling newspaper.

I'm pretty sure, the figures will be very good tonight.

Even if it doesn't break a 3mil average, i reckon the peak will smash it and be around 3.2million.

They seriously need to look into making live from the house a nightly thing as it beats every other show it usually has in that time slot.

Are these officials higher than usual due to the repeats on MTV or are they not included?

If that Thursday time shifted half a million then the likely hood is most episodes will be near or over the 3 million mark.

I'm sure they're not included and the 3.04m is just on those watching on Sky+ and catchup. If you add all the MTV repeats together they would probably amount to over half a million anyway! If they add them in it'd be closer to 4m (I think).

And yes, if Thurs timeshifted half a million, then if we added half a million to the current overnight average of 2.64m it'd be ~3.10-3.15m. That's IF they by average add by half a million and if it still does as well as it has been (there is usually a drop off during series except CBB13!).

Yeah, especially since there are often Irish housemates.
The show still gets featured in newspapers most of the time; every day with the Celebrity series (Ken was on the front page last week) of The Mirror, The Star always provide good coverage (still).

I think they really should have aired it when Jedward went in; the series was back from the dead - Ireland's basically most famous people at the time were in - but TV3 saw it as not good enough then, now they want it when they're struggling.

But yeah, most people who really want to watch can through Channel 5 on Sky/Freesat or online.

Going on the amount of users of my app, and screen-views, I'd say tonight will be at least 2.85 million; though I wouldn't be at all surprised if it hit 3 million.

That's amazing I was thinking it may drop off as to me it has become slightly boring since Katie entered I think the real test now is to see if tonight sustains these ratings seeing as the dynamics have changed dramatically since she entered, the last 2 days on Twitter live feed has been full of the housemates sleeping and having nice conversations lol I will be confident these viewers are here to stay if tonight rates high again :) fingers crossed!!!!

Very very impressive though and I cant wait for the officials :)

What did it come in its slot? Wouldn't be surprised if it came 1st that's also an amazing share.

Hoping tonights twist brings in the viewers again!

The twist is tomorrow night (Tuesday). Tonights show will focus on the task mostly I think.

Also, there may have been rows, they don't really tell us during the day on Twitter. Remember they said that Saturday was a quiet day in the house, so we all thought last nights show would be dull, but there were more rows!

I agree, but the producers seem keen on shooting themselves in the foot with twists constantly. The only reason I think there isn't so many ridiculous twists this series is because the HMs are providing so much.

Yes it would be the highest by far.

I reckon tonight will be down by quite a bit against Silent Witness and Broadchurch. CBB got 2.40m last week and was the lowest rating of the series (bar the first Saturday). So I reckon 2.6m tonight.

Outstanding ratings for a highlights show, can't believe it's the most watched non launch or finale in 5 years.. it just goes to show.. a programme can have rough moments, just air out the creases and let it get back on track.. now if BBUK could do the same, that would be excellent!

3.22

I literally have to keep saying 3.22
It sounds more like an official figure, rather than an overnight!?
So is that gonna be like 3.7/3.8? I missed it last night so will be catching up in 10!

*mazedsalv**
19-01-2015, 12:47 PM
First 5 officials released, these all include +1: (in brackets are what the overnight was)

Weds 7th Jan Launch- 3.65m (3.27m)
Thurs 8th Jan- 3.05m (2.55m)
Fri 9th Jan- 2.76m (2.31m)
Sat 10th Jan (Jeremy ejected)- 2.84m (2.25m)
Sun 11th Jan- 3.23m (2.69m)

The average after those 5 days- 3.11m incl +1

Some very large timeshifts there! 600,000 added onto that Saturday!

The Fridays Live From The House got 2.15m at 10pm! Bear in mind this was before the Ken ejection (when we saw another spike).

MTV reruns are also doing very well and in the Top 5 of the channel:

1 TEEN MOM 2 (WED 2002) 241,000
2 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (FRI 1859) 78,000
3 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (SAT 1801) 61,000
4 AWKWARD (WED 2100) 59,000
5 CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER (THU 1859) 58,000

when CBB is on, C4 tends to get half the audience, yesterday's 13% share for CBB went against 7% for channel 4, good, but pretty beatable!

DEAR MTV, PLEASEEEE put a few hours of live feed on the channel!

It's weird, 78,000 was about what Secrets and Lies Live Feed got from like 7-9PM on 5*.. interesting that they dropped that because it was well down on the normal 200,000 for shows at the same time beforehand, I wonder if CBB Live Feed could give 200K, making it highly watched for the channel.. it'd be the perfect match on MTV! Though it's probably too heated and argumentative! Would be nice to see it on a saturday or sunday, instead of where BOTS used to be

Channel 4 would never buy BB back anyway imo they have to much pride and it would be like accepting defeat.
