Its a good ratings and brilliant share though it is 600k down on the previous night why do we think that is? Maybe the competition from Broadchurch and Silent Witness? Channel 5 should move it to 10pm on Mondays.
I imagine it will stay around the 2.5/2.6 mark and comfortably hit 3 million in most officials.

Probably because of the competition it had, plus the fact that it had such a dramatic episode that pulled in the viewers on Sunday, with the follow up last night being totally boring. They should have tried to edit it in any way they could to try and hold on to the viewers.

We should get a more accurate rating to see if it actually hit 3m (as we don't know if the 2.7m on excl +1 is 2.66m or 2.74m!).
I will post when it gets released via DS.
Tonight will be difficult, NTAs tonight and CBB is up for a nomination. Will expect a huge +1 figure because the awards have a lot of younger viewers.

Tonight I reckon will plummet as it's against not only the NTAs (which has a history of having CBB drop a lot when it faced it in CBB11 and CBB13) and Wolf Hall which is already trending on Twitter and has huge buzz. I do reckon a huge +1 figure for BB, but I still think overall, that it will barely make 2.3m.
Fantastic. Good to see it's staying strong, but yeah tonight is going to be crap. 1.5 maybe? It's annoying because there's arguments tonight :(

When looking at last 2 years ratings when it clashed with CBB11:
NTAs- 5.9m
CBB- 2.1m
CBB13:
NTAs- 6.2m
CBB- 2.3m
Oh maybe not too bad then? Low 2ms then. Let's pretend it's Saturday

Another amazing rating for last night I was so sure ratings would have dropped due to the series slowing down a bit but thankfully this series has a strong following. :)

The ratings will be low tonight. Twitter was absolutely dead during the show. However, there seems to be more tweets now as people are watching on +1 than there was on at 9pm. So I expect a huge +1 figure, over 600k maybe? It managed 510k on +1 on Monday when it was against Broadchurch and SW, so I reckon it would be more.

Ouch that's hard to see but it was expected I did expect a plus 1 figure of 500k so it only fell slightly short of that. I imagine a lot of people recorded it.
What did CBB13 get up against the NTA'S?
Thankfully there's drama in the house tonight so lets reel them viewers back in.

So the first set of officials added around 500K to the overnight ratings...
3.27 - LAUNCH - 3.64
2.55 - 3.03
2.31 - 2.76
2.25 - 2.84
2.69 - 3.23
With that in mind I've predicted what the other overnights will look like when they're officially announced...
2.40 - 2.90
2.52 - 3.02
2.57 - 3.07
2.63 - 3.13
2.92 - 3.42
2.56 - 3.06
3.22 - 3.72
2.62 - 3.12
2.96 - 3.46
2.30 - 2.80
Looking at a current series average of 3.15 est. Hope this is helpful to anyone.

No, that's Banana. There's three in total, Cucumber on 4, Banana on E4 and Tofu on 4oD, and somehow they're all supposed to inter-connect with each other.
Getting back to the ratings though, I can't predict which will have the higher rating..

If +1 can add 400/500k then spot on but if not then I think people are defo strating to switch off.

Yeah we're just waiting for the +1 figure, but it's a shame it's a bit of a dip, so would be great if its a big +1, but not too sure! I'm just hoping for a 3m+ official, so that would mean, it would need to average ~2.6m overnights daily. So for me, as long as it gets around 2.6m a night, then we are all good!

Although the figures are defo dipping, they are still good but not as good as we thought given the supposed boost to the series in the shape of KP.
She seems to have been a brain fart and its hard to see how they can make her relevant unless the rumours of Alex going in are true. Dane is totally irrelevant as he is scared to speak up against her and \I doubt Alex will put himself up for a ridicule. I think they have a CH5 documentary on the table somewhere for her in the future, hence her inclusion on the show now because her reported hot topic and massive storyline has dies a very horrible a wet death.

23-01-2015, 09:34 AM
Personally I think the dip is due to KP fans coming on board but slipping away as they are not CBB fans and Katie is no longer a show storyline anymore. She has gone to bed counting the 500,ooo smackers she got for 2 weeks work doing very little bar slagging of her x partners and present hubby.

The thing is they only really dipped on Wednesday up against the NTA's Lets not forget Tuesday pulled in almost 3 million viewers again.
The +1 figures have been adding up to 500k so I think we need to see what the rating is then before we can really judge it.
Will.
23-01-2015, 09:40 AM
That's a good rating without +1, if it can get like 300-500k then thats 2.7-8, which is excellent for CBB.
*mazedsalv**
23-01-2015, 09:46 AM
Broadcast has this rounded up figure:
Celebrity Big Brother was next in line with a respectable 2.7m (11.8%) for Channel 5, ahead of ITV’s Bring Back Borstal, which slipped by 200,000 from last week to register 1.7m (7.7%).
So added quite a bit! Will post the more accurate rating when it comes out!
For the 3rd week running, CBB came 2nd on the Thursday in its slot beating ITV. To be fair, Bring Back Borstal is good, it's odd that it's flopping so hard.
Last Thursday got 2.63m and a share of 11.5% so higher share last night!

BBC1: Death in Paradise- 6.50m
BBC2: Winterwatch Unsprung- 1.47m. Surviving the Holocaust- 1.24m
ITV: Bring Back Borstal- 1.72m
CH4- Cucumber- 1.23m

It really is slaying last years ratings they seem pitiful in comparison.
I do think now that that after a quiet few days and a fickle audience who tuned in to see the drama we will be seeing more 2.5/2.6 figures from now on.
Cant see it pulling those casual viewers back in and getting 3.2 again but the fact we got those ratings is amazing. Last nights should in my opinion have been higher due to it being an explosive episode and I would have thought people would want to tune in to catching up after the NTA'S the night before.

They have promoted the **** out of it this year and are showing repeats of it on MTV twice a day.

I think they are taking regular BB seriously, they upped the prize fund to £150k and they are plugging the auditions website more than they did last year. If anything they will cancel summer CBB and focus on one of each series (focusing more on CBB)

^^
I doubt Endemol will ever agree to reducing the format to just a celeb version.
While the celeb version continues to be a heavy hitter (which it appears to be rating very, very well). I'd argue that Endemol have the ball in their court. They could effectively threaten to pull the plug and then five would be without all these mega ratings the jan version brings in.
For as long as the civ version can pull in 1million viewers every night it won't be going anywhere. That's still on par with slot average, plus i highly doubt endemol will ever agree to that, as they would essientially be putting themselves out of work/money.

It didn't get 1.89m against NTAs, it got 2.29m on Weds against it.
But I can guarantee that tonight we will have our first sub 2m rating. I reckon 1.8m.

I knew it would settle around 2.6 that's the core following for this series it seems obviously then when there's controversy the causal viewer dips in out of interest/nosiness lol.
Good share again and the very random 90 minutes of BOTS did well

Week 3- Around 2.2m.
Lets bear in mind that in BB10 Saturdays were getting around 1.5m.

I agree, we need a fun new house, with a comeptely new design and layout, a great bunch of HM with wacky and diverse personalitys, something like BB 14. A few mega twists here and there, but no twists that effects who goes and stays unless the public influences it. Ryan should be axed, and BBOTS needs revamping and rebranding, and we need some live feed during the day, not at midnight. I liked when we had 2 hours of live feed before the eviction in BB14, would help hype the eviction.

Everything about the show last summer felt horrible to me, I gave up on it after a couple of weeks. I hope this year they completely rebuild the house interior, give us better housemates, and have less silly weekly twists in exchange for just one or two big ones. I miss when the twists were a big event in the old C4 days like with the house next door, golden ticket, surprise BB9 eviction etc. They used to be a million times better than the rubbish they give us these days. The only time I've genuinely been excited by a C5 twist was the end of the White Room one, it sucks that Conor got £50k but it was still amazing tv.

I don't watch IAC nowadays, but even when I did I always thought it felt flat in comparison. It's usually quite boring imo, apart from some of the trials and Ant and Dec.

Because it's on ITV. Having stuff like Corrie pulling 9m as a lead in.. compared to Ch5 getting a lead in of around 500k!
The last series was dull, I can't believe it won the NTAs over CBB... actually I can, because it gets like 6m more viewers! There were only two people I liked on IAC this year (Jake and Foggy) and they ended up being Top 2. But had IAC been on Channel 5, it'd be getting less than CBB is getting. You can't compare the two quality wise. IAC was like BB4 in comparison to what CBB is like at the moment.

Its down to one thing and one thing only.....Ant and Dec.....they make the show. Emma is great at times but her giggly ways and blatant bias is killing her style and Rylan is just pure nonsense. I said it before and will say it again, get a decent presenter for Bots and censor Emma, and we have a decent show to look at. BB needs to stop meddling and treating the voters like idiots and that will boost the ratings.
Everyone says BB is dead....no it isn't....other countries are steaming ahead and the one thing they all have is a production team that think about tasks and fun. BB Uk are all about sex and confrontation which get boring after a while.

As a fan of the show I agree that 2.9 mil is great but its nowhere near IAC. The difference isn't in the shows contents as they are similar, the difference is that the shows producers target different demographic groups. IAC is for the mainstream and these idiots on BB are aiming the show at the Chavvy side of our society.

No matter where Channel 5 aimed it's demographic at, CBB is never going to get 10 million viewers. Never has (apart from Jade Goody's eviction during the whole racism scandal which got 8m+). IAC has always attracted higher ratings, simply because it's on ITV.

No the difference is its on Channel 5 and IAC is on ITV its that simple. IAC is far worse production wise if you ask me and only comes across as polished and well put together because of Ant and Dec. They cast their celebs terribly, the trials include eating live animals and cock is not only morally wrong and cruel but somehow the stuck up viewers of ITV find it entertaining yet slam BB as disgusting and for low lives? They basically ripped off BB as they needed their own reality show back in 2002 when BB was at the height of its fame. All they did was rename their diary room, change their trials to something disgusting and even had live feed back in the day.
What bugs me is when fans of the show are even calling it chavvy....That baffles me. Its like the fans watch but they bash it continuously and mock it for being trash then what does that make them?
Anyway 2.9 and a 13% share for last night is brilliant and after the drama of last night I wouldn't be surprised if it hit 3 million with the eviction and more fallout that continued yesterday on tonights highlights. The only problem I have with tonights eviction is its a big one but only on for 60 minutes!!!! Imagine if Perez is evicted im sorry but all hes going to get is a 10 minute interview? We seriously need a good 20 minutes atleast!
I thought that the main highlights would be stuck around 2.6 for the rest of the show but it continues to surprise.
Well done Channel 5 :)

Just concentrate on Winter CBB and Summer BB. They will save so much money, and CBB summer never does as well, it gets like 700k lower than usual generally, this year it CBB15 is currently 1.1m up on CBB14.

It's looking like 17 out of 22 episodes will officially rate above 3.0m which is phenomenal.

I'm a Celebrity is 100% a BB rip-off. A group of people forced to live together who perform tasks and are eliminated by the public one-by-one. They even have a diary-room style hut. The only difference is that it's set in the jungle.
Big Brother is the original, the ultimate and most real reality TV that we have. IAC is awful, IMO. why people have switched off over the years, whilst that show maintains strong viewing figures, is beyond me.
I do have qualms with the BB producer's decisions in recent years, but I will always love it.
Oh, and yes, drop the summer CBB. It's RUINS the civilian series. Channel 5 will bleed BB dry if not careful.
Worth pointing out that last night's episode beat BBC1 which only pulled in 2.72m in the 9pm slot! :o
It was beaten by Midsummer Murders which got over 4m.
This series really has been gold dust for channel 5.

Well said ITV wanted there own big brother

Any final rating predictions? Lowest rated Celebrity Big Brother final was 2.41m and the highest 3.71m. I'm putting it out there, I'm hoping for 3.80 officially. If the 'bombshell' is decent then it could set the final week up for some good peaks. Any thoughts?

4.2 for the final with Katie H, Katie P and Michelle fighting for the victory...

I'd absolutely love for the final to at least peak around 4.0 Million - that would be amazing! However, I'll be realistic and say an average of around 3.7/3.8 Million.
It will be boring..
No it ****ing won't, Perez isn't even entertaining
The final will be around 3.8/3.9 with maybe a peak of 4 million

I'd love to see Celebrity Big Brother do some sort of Jungle theme almost to annoy IAC, and show where and how it can go to great lengths with the right cast, only downside is that it airs right after, so people could get bored!
The way I see it, Summer CBB is there for the die-hards, most people I know who watch winter often forget summer. But who know's? Viacom have done good with this series (okay, so we still get the sh*** twists and tasks and need to allow celebs to go out of the house etc. the diehards hate, but it's pulling in the punters! Just had a haircut, and Perez and Hopkins were the topic of the whole place, it was so bizarre!!) They had a good theme, good design and good publicity. I truly believe all the show needs is a strong cast, not necessarily A listers, but A-egos!
imo the only downside to this series is the lack of laughter, watching it every night for 2 hours (inc. BOTS) just get's me frustrated. And I HOPE CBB doesn't become stuck next year because we're now becoming so used to the show's drama, controversy and conflict..

Interesting to note.
22 of the 22 aired episodes have increased on the previous summer edition.
15 of the 22 aired episodes have increased on the previous winter edition.
Comes 2nd and 3rd in it's slot most nights.
Viacom's clear aim was stated to beat Channel 4 ratings wise. In terms of the 9pm slot, Channel 4 has nearly always rated 5th against the Big 5, while CBB was on.
Just 240,000 behind BBC One last night. (Will it EVER happen!?)
More than double the social interactions on twitter this series than compared with CBB13.
BB AIN'T GOING NOWHERE HONEY
It's great to see how the ratings are doing for this season. I hope that it keeps the show on air for years to come, however Kai you're right, it is just two hours a night of arguments and controversy, it would be nice to have some laughter and fun in there for a change!
Also, am I right in thinking that the launch show got 3.65 million viewers in officials? I was reading this article and noticed that it claims the launch got 6 million viewers... http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/19b36cda-a646-11e4-9bd3-00144feab7de.html#axzz3QEf19ZLB

Just incase anyone is interested.
Since CBB has begun airing (up to Jan 18th)
- channel 5s average share has accelerated from 3.7% (pre-CBB) to 4.7%
- channel 5 is now just 0.1% share away from beating channel 4 with 4.8%!
