Elimination #12

Good evening everyone and welcome to the twelfth and final Elimination of the game!

After a 24 hour endurance battle, Jay won Part 1 of the final HoH competition and progressed straight through to Part 3. And after multiple incorrect answer submissions from both Jersey and Lostie in Part 2 as they scrambled to get a spot alongside him, Lostie eventually came out on top.

In Part 3, it all came down to the final question and Lostie became the final Head of Household of Elimination 11.

He will now cast the final vote to eliminate of the season, sending either Jay or Jersey to the Jury House and in turn determining who sits next to him in the final two.

After eleven eliminations over thirteen days of competition, it all comes down to this.

Jay's Statement:

My Statement

Okay, so I’m just going to start writing this and say whatever comes into my head I have no idea how long it’s going to be or if it’s even that good but here goes;

I had never really seen a full episode of BBUS/BBCAN before starting the game. Liam and Luke taught me the rules before it started. But I still didn’t understand it. It therefore took me a while to get to grips with how things worked, which is possibly why my ‘big moves’ of getting Luke and Tom evicted, will probably not work in my favour. Although, I think I’ve done really well in the game, for someone who became a fan of the BBUS/BBCAN format, after playing it.

Throughout the game my main loyalty has been with Liam (Lostie) we’ve worked together really well throughout the game, leading us to becoming the final 2. We also worked closely with the other Liam at the beginning of the game, before he was taken from us </3 We strategized really well throughout the game, working out who was working together, who to vote out and we even took turns in deciding which of us should try to become HoH. I don’t think I’d have got as far as I did, without Liam. We trusted each other and our final 2 deal worked well. Thank you Liam :flutter: And for his first game, he’s done really, really well!

Other than the alliance with Liam, I also worked with Tom and Lucas (with Liam). Tom made a forum and we spoke about our strategies etc. within it. But it wasn’t used very much. As I’ve already said, my main alliance was always with Liam. Myself and Liam used this to see what others were doing in the game and it worked well in our favour. It also meant, if one of them were to put us up, we could stop it. For example, at one point in the game I managed to stop Tom putting up Liam :laugh: so it did indeed work well in our favour.

I also had an alliance with Luke. But I heard from Liam that he planned to get rid of me, which is what informed my decision to vote for him. Which has me thinking that, perhaps, I got a little bit too into the game, voting out my friends etc. But, at the end of the day, it is just a game, not the end of the world. But still, I do feel really bad about it. Although, I think, given the chance, Luke could have easily done that to me. He understands the game really well and played quite a good game! We did have a final 2 deal, but as I’m aware this game is about backstabbing and game play, I decided that my only real final 2 deal would be with Liam. I felt really, really bad for this. Maybe I shouldn’t have done it, because I was wayy too into the game.

Although, I have made some bad moves, like being the reason Tom, Luke and Josh were eliminated. I do feel bad for this, all three of them were really good players, but myself and Liam decided that they were both threats and could easily have won. They could have easily done that to me, but I believe myself and Liam remained strong and we were able to influence other players.

Probably the worst point in the game for me, was when myself and Liam (not Lostie) were both put up by the DPoV twist. It could have been either of us leaving, at such an early point in the game. It split our alliance in half and meant that myself and Liam had to work a lot harder now.

Overall, I think anyone of us deserved to win and hope that none of you take any of my decisions made in this game personal. I know it’s easy for me to say that without being in your position, but no hard feelings, I hope! We’ve all tried to get each other out at some point, it would have been boring if we weren’t able to mix it up a bit. I’d personally vote for Liam at this point, but it’s up to you all. I’m not saying this because I don’t want to look like a sore loser or anything, he’s worked really well for his forum forum game and he deserves it! I really wouldn’t mind either of us winning, we worked so well together. I’d also like to thank Jack for being such a great host, the games been so full on and I got so into it, perhaps a little bit too into it :laugh: but thank you so much! It’s been so tense at times, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve got in the game. And if anything good has come of me playing this game, it’s that It lead me to watch BBCAN, and I love it :flutter:

Lostie's Statement:

A big thing that I knew I wanted to be an aspect of my game going into Elimination was that I wanted to have one solid alliance that I'd keep my word to for as long as I remained in the game, as opposed to instantly making alliances with everyone and keeping / breaking my word when it suited me. I'm happy that I was successful in this, forming an alliance with Jay and Liam very early that remained my one true alliance for the duration of the game.
Another “alliance” I'd been involved with sometime after Liam's eviction was a four-person group with Jay, Lucas and Tom. However, I never truly felt that I was fully integrated into this alliance, which was confirmed to me when I found out Tom was intending to nominate me, something which Jay managed to prevent by convincing Tom otherwise. After this, Tom became my main target until he was evicted.
I never approached anybody else for an alliance because I didn't want to approach another player with the specific intention of using and betraying them. However, I of course remained open to “accepting” offers made to be by others, as denying them would only make myself their number one target. This happened when Jersey (my main target in the game at that point, simply due to how big a threat I saw him as) approached me for a Final 2 deal shortly after Luke's eviction. I accepted the deal, while really intending to keep loyal to my Final 2 deal with Jay, but decided that not targeting Jersey at this point would be beneficial after realising that Lucas and Iceman were very likely working closely together and, for the benefit of me and Jay, needed to be separated. Another bonus of keeping Jersey around would be that, if Jay happened to be evicted, I'd have another Final 2 ally to fall back on (providing Jersey intended to remain true to the deal).
During the week that I intended to get Lucas evicted, I nominated Jersey alongside him simply because I didn't want to nominate both Lucas and Iceman together and risk exposing my hopes to split them up.
My desire to stay completely loyal to my true allies put me in difficult positions at times, mainly because I've been friends with various members of the cast prior to the game, not all of whom worked together. At one point, during a discussion with Luke (who I have a very good friendship with away from this game), I learned that he was intending to target Jay at some point. Because Jay was my one real ally at this point, I told him this, just as he did when Tom planned to target me, so he could make an informed decision on who to trust / not trust. Luke later found out that I'd told Jay, and I was forced to lie about when I actually did in an effort to hide our alliance. That week, me and Luke were both nominated, so I told Luke that I only told Jay after nominations in an attempt to win his support and survive, because the fact that we were working together would likely be exposed if I admitted that I told him before nominations took place. I regret that this happened because I genuinely value Luke's friendship, but I wanted to play the game with loyalty to my alliance and not being compromised by personal feelings from outside of the game.
A similar incident happened when I nominated Daniel, an existing friend here, when I first became HoH. My nomination was based on two factors (I was unsure if nominating an un-banned player instead was exactly fair), and as we hadn't formed an alliance within the game, I assumed he was working with others and knew he'd be a big threat in the game, along with Germyle who was my second nomination.
I hope I played a fair game, and definitely tried to be as fair as possible throughout the experience.

I think I played the game a little bit too strongly in eliminating two people (Luke and Tom) who were both in the jury. This could possibly stop me winning. But saying that, as I've said, I'd be more than happy with Liam winning!

I think it might be that I didn't make an effort to form other alliances other than my main one with Jay and Liam. As said in my statement, I'd accept offers from others, but I didn't take the inititative to begin possible alliances with others, simply because I wanted to get as far as I could through the game with the alliance I joined at the start and that could easily be seen as an error of judgement, and could have backfired had things turned out differently.

I always wanted to stick to my alliance with Jay and Liam for as long as I remained in the game, so turning on either of them wasn't ever a realistic consideration I made. I already had moments where I had to make moves against other friends I have on here, so I wouldn't have wanted to do that with people in my main alliance too.

For me personally, I have two: nominating Lucas and evicting Jersey, two people I liked a lot on a personal level but feared just as much on a game level. Those were two of the ones I thought were among those with the highest likelihoods of winning if they got to the final two. I'd also been nominated by Lucas the round directly prior to me nominating him, so I felt like I was possibly removing a big threat to my survival in the game.

I definitely felt overly-paranoid throughout most of the game. With the exceptions of Jay and Liam, who I felt I could completely trust, I was constantly wondering who might be hoping to get me evicted, including people I had good friendships with away from the game.

As for my statement, that was just based on information I received, and in this sort of game as soon as you hear someone might be nominating you, your mind (or mine, at least :laugh:) jumps straight to assuming you're on their hitlist.

After this, you remained someone I'd have likely nominated again just because I thought you might target me in return for me nominating you.

I was actually intending to vote for Jersey initially, just because I knew he was a big threat, but Jay had suspicions that he was your main target, and for all I knew that could have extended to me if people were sussing out our alliance, so I evicted you to both stay loyal to my ally and lessen the risk of you coming after both of us, while I didn't even know if I was on Jersey's radar at that point.

Certainly. I think some players like Calderyon thought I had it out for him, but we spoke about this later and stuff. Other than that, the big moves I've made, I was stupid in doing so and the backlash was immense. But like I said, I took the game wayyy too seriously and got caught up in all of the drama and backstabbing. Probably didn't help as I hadn't watched BBUS/BBCAN past the first few weeks.

I've tried my best to play a loyal game true to those I promised my loyalty right back at the start, and I did that to the end and I think having alliances that you did stay true to and not just backstabbing everyone is a big part of a worthy winner. That said, the same applies to Jay, so I'd just say give your vote to the one you think gave more to the game and deserves it more.

Lostie who do you think you betrayed most in this game and why did you do it? (not including myself if it's me)

I'd say Luke. Prior to this game, I had a strong friendship with him, and exchanged some PMs concerning game talk during the game. When I found out through these PMs that one of his targets was Jay, I had to break that confidence, just as Jay did me the same favour earlier in the game.

I felt really bad, and hope that he understands it was simply a part of the game and not intended to be malicious.

Both of you- What is your biggest regret in game?

Not winning one of the Diamond Powers of Veto and having the opportunity to take one of Jay or Liam off the block. If one came down and was replaced with someone else, there would always be the possibility of the other nominee receiving enough votes to be evicted and our alliance remaining intact. Having one of us leave so early, specifically during my HoH round, was quite a big blow.

Omg, that made me livid! Honestly, I was fuming that I was HoH and my allies were the on the block. I was like "Oh, so I'm not really HoH anymore". :joker:

After it sunk in I could appreciate it as a big, and entertaining, twist, but at the time I was really annoyed just because when I won that HoH, I assumed me and my alliance were safe for another round. That's my fault for being complacent, I suppose. :whistle:

Honestly, that's difficult because we equal each other in HoH wins and gameplay I think, the only thing that I think I have over Jay is that I went un-nominated for a longer period of time, but considering a few of the HoHs were Jay I think a fair bit of luck was involved there. :whistle:

Honestly, I think the second. What constitutes as good gameplay is subjective, and if somebody deliberately decides to be the floater and sneak to the end, and it works, they've played a more successful game than somebody who played too hard too fast and got themselves evicted.

If somebody is a floater unintentionally then I'd say the first because it just means that they haven't really found their place in the game, but I actually respect people who do it deliberately and have it work out for them.

I'm gonna answer this just based on the game and not personal feelings because there are several I class as friends. I'd say Jersey, because he was always someone I thought of as a major player in the game and I love how much enthusiasm he brought. It was always especially fun against him in competitions because you knew you had a fight on your hands.

I also love how he took the eviction vote from me earlier, completely understanding it and not taking it personally. :)

I don't get involved in the "anti-weave" thing because people are individuals. Case in point, you and me have always gotten along really well on here.

I nominated you and Germyle against each other because I was pretty certain you'd be working alongside each other, and considering we'd never talked game, you weren't working with me so I had you both pegged as dangerous players. It was the only other alliance I felt sure of at that point.

And honestly, the other part of my reason for nominating you was that you were banned and I'd feel bad nominating somebody who wasn't banned at the expense of someone who was. If I remember correctly, that was early in your ban so I was unsure of the extent that you'd be able to get involved in the game.

I can't speak for anyone else, but that was my personal thought process.

Sometime in the future? I'd definitely consider it, it was a lot of fun.

Honestly, during the game it did. My opinion of Iceman changed at a later stage in the game after his angry reaction to me nominating him. Before this, we'd gotten along really well and I was pretty taken aback by it. I'm just saying this because I want to answer honestly and I'd be lying if I said no.

That said, I'm not holding on to those feelings once the game is over. It can get heated and intense during these games I guess, I'm not gonna carry any negative feeling forward, so the slate reverts back to clean.

Originally it was Germyle, and after he left it became you just because of what I'd heard about you considering nominating me one of those times you won HoH. After you left, it was Jersey, but then we made a deal and my target became Lucas because I wanted to split up him and Iceman, who I figured were a duo and on track to get to the end.

Then I formed a fake alliance with you (the legendary HIMYM) sorry, I just didn't want us to have a real alliance, I wanted to play with people who others won't suspect at all and people who I pretty much don't talk to a lot. Then me and Josh became an alliance. Tom asked me for one, but I don't think that was real as I found out he put mine and liam's(lostie) name as a suggestion who to put up (which I'm not annoyed about, I still like tom)

That's on me... and tbh I didn't want to play this one b/c Coach Trip had been so all encompassing...It was really a timing issue.
But it was actually seeing the last Elimination that made me want to even try out forum games... and I could see myself playing in the future ... maybe :wink:

But overall Jack you have put on a smashing competition here and I think you are my fav host of 2015 so far for games :thumbs:

Did anyone know me & Tom were secretly working together? I don't think I told anyone that but I hope me using DPOV on him didn't make it obvious... I tried emphasizing that I did it to make a big move on Liam.

One of my regrets now is not using the POV again on Tom when people were telling me they wanted him out. Could've saved him and maybe things would've ended differently. I just felt that would've gotten messy for me especially since my own (main) alliance member wanted Tom out too. :laugh: And if Luke got put up in Tom's place that would've been a disaster.

No I had your back especially because people would continue to target you but I didn't really consider that an 'alliance'.
