Chelsea... What happened? How can a team that hardly anyone beats go to a team that loses to Crystal Palace of all teams?
Locke.
05-10-2015, 02:02 PM
That was 6 weeks ago, and Palace are a very good side.
They'll recover anyway, table is very tight at this point of the season. 2 back to back wins and they're back in the top half, 3 and they're probably about 7th and a couple of points off the top 4

It´s just odd, because for the last two seasons they have pretty much dominated the league without anyone rising up to challenge them.

Too much pressure from Mourinho, obvious why he has a max stay of 3 years at a club. Used all the excuses in the book to deflect blame from him and his players so they don't work anymore. And they need a fit striker

Jurgen Klopp has agreed a three-year deal to become Liverpool manager.
The 48-year-old German replaces Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked on Sunday after three and a half years in charge with the club 10th in the Premier League.
Klopp has been out of work since May, when he ended a seven-year spell at Borussia Dortmund to take a sabbatical.
He is expected to have Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz - his former assistants at the Bundesliga club - as part of his coaching staff at Anfield.
No contract has yet been signed but that is viewed as a formality when Klopp arrives in Liverpool later on Thursday.

Still don't see them doing anything. It's not a manager that's keeping them from the top four, it's the players they can attract
Happily eat my words though. He might get Reus
Locke.
08-10-2015, 05:15 PM
There are plenty of players at this club that are not performing as well as they could have been, the hope is that Klopp can get that out of them. Plus we're only 3 points off 4th having already played Utd, Arsenal, Everton, and Stoke away. The fanbase is completely rejuvenated and behind the manager, the players' morale will be up, and he's got much more connections to top players than Brendan had.
Not expecting a miracle but we'll definitely see some big improvements over the next couple of months

I really hope we get rid next summer.
Leon, our defence isn't even all that. It's made to look that way due to keeping the ball for the sake of it. Palace, but for poor finishing, could of put 2 or 3 past us. If we play a top team in Europe we'll be absolutely destroyed.

It's a lot better than what it was made out to be in the pre season though, which was my point of irony lol. A lot of it depends if Shaw can come back properly, but if he does then I would say we are a partner for Smalling away from having a decent one in terms of personnel anyway.

I'm still not confident myself in it, mainly because I don't trust Jones. Smalling has been immense since he was sent off at City last season. Darmian started well but has struggled recently, especially at Palace. I'd rather have Valencia at right back at the moment.
I still find it ridiculous how we didn't sign a centre back in the summer. Instead we sold Evans, loaned out Blackett and initially played Blind there ffs. All because of the stupid need to have a left footed centre back... yet we chased a right footed centre back in Ramos.

Locke.
06-12-2015, 06:22 PM
Sigh. So typical of us to drop points against a side at the bottom of the table when the opportunity to close the gap to the teams above us comes along. A seriously bad performance from all 14 players, didn't create anything and were just generally so ****ing awful. Moreno's goal wrongfully being ruled out didn't help but even so, Newcastle deserved to beat us.
To be fair though, missing our best player (Coutinho), the legs in our midfield (Can & Hendo), and our star striker still isn't fit. Our next league game being at the morgue won't help though.

This is the best chance we've had for ages. It pretty much UN-presedented for Wenger to state he's gonna buy in January. His track record in Jnuary is that he bought Gabriel last year and Arshavin many years ago but he very very rarely buys first team players in January, let alone state he will buy in January.

Best game of the Premiership seasons by far. The first half was one of the best games of football I'd seen in many a year. Shame we couldn't hold on to lead and with so much football being played in the game it was a shame a Benteke knock down set up the equalier
You need to see the Giroud miss. Possible miss of the season. Score was 2-2 at the time and we could have gone on to secure a good win. No matter what the stats on how Grioud is the most efficient scorer in the Premiership, he misses good chances in vital games. Having said that his 2nd goals was a beauty.

Benteke, Mignolet, Lallana, Milner, Bogdan, and Skrtel are all far from good enough to be anywhere near the starting 11. That's not including a few that are out on loan (Balotelli, Wisdom, Alberto), deadwood (Enrique), and players that have put in a few good performances recently but probably should still be moved on (Allen & Toure). Not many teams in the league that can have a list of players that long that should be sold/upgraded.
Ideally next season we'll see
New GK, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Hendo, New CM, Coutinho, New ST, Firmino/New AM. But with Mignolet supposedly getting a new 5 year deal it looks like we're stuck with him.

We don't need a new goalkeeper Ward is more then capable to be #1 we have already signed 2 players who will arrive in the summer we just need a world class cente back and a goal scoring striker
Locke.
17-01-2016, 06:53 PM
Ward is a 22 year old who has never made an appearance for the club and until this season had never played top flight football anywhere, he is far too inexperienced to be starting league games for a team that want top 4. And centre back is fine, Sakho and Lovren have got a decent partnership going on. It's just their fitness that needs to be worried about.

Ward is highly rated and they will unlikely go for another young goalkeeper so they will either keep minolet or get a aging goalkeeper to steady the ship until he is ready.
The defence is terrible it has let it far to many goals and can't settle on 1 partnership

Our defence has conceded 19 goals in 22 games since Klopp has been in charge, keeping 8 clean sheets in the process. It's fine. Defending set pieces has been terrible, but that is a team problem and not down to the 4 defenders that are playing.
Ward will take Bogdan's spot as our cup keeper and will hopefully develop into a top keeper, but he's not going to be first choice in the league for some time.
