I watched BB6 launch the other day and it was quite a good premiere tbh, excited to find out who each HGs are playing with. Ashlea </3 I really liked her and I thought she had potential as she made all the gals fume for some reason. We nearly had a Janelle Of Household :rant: if only she didn't get the last question wrong and now Eric is HOH :bored: I just hate him for some reason and I don't even know why tbh he just gets under my skin. Janelle vowing revenge on the hoes who got Ashlea out <3. I would never have guessed some of the pairings tbh I guessed Eric and Maggie because of the way Eric reacted to when Ivette brought up Maggies name but that was the only one. Rachel and Howie are such an odd pairing but I love both of them.

God Eric of Household is awful, him calling house meetings over nothing and after Janelle volunteered to do the eating challenge he had to take her glory and tell her that he was doing it instead :bored:. When he told Kaysar 'There's no need to raise your voice!' when Kaysar was doing no such thing :umm2:. I like Maggie but she went down after ratting to Eric about Sarah telling her she didn't like all the lies and deceit Eric was up to. Janelle is already great her giving drags in the DR was the best thing this episode 'Your ghetto slip n slide Ivette :umm2' 'God he just has to have all the attention on him! I hate him!' 'Howie is so touchy freely it's like get off me!'

Glad Kaysar won HOH. I really like him and his whole positive and calming outlook in the house it's refreshing when you have the likes of Janelle (whom I love though) basically dragging everyone in the DR :love:. Ewww @ her and Michael though he's ugly and creepy, Jan can do so much better. Like all the gals in blue they just need more airtime especially the likes of Sarah and Jen who both show potential but are rarely shown.

Idek why but I just LOVE Maggie, like she's so down to earth and lovely and I like that she puts Eric in his place when he's in the wrong like when he brought Kaysar being Muslim into the argument. Hmmm, I like the girls in the new Janelle/Sarah/James/Kaysar/Howie/Rachel alliance but I don't know I think together as a group the boys and to an extent Janelle come across quite smug and annoying. Hoping my little Maggie gets herself off the block!

Me and Natalie discussed watching BB10 for the first time so I gave the first episode a watch tonight. I thought t was a really good premiere, definitely want to carry on with the season.

Angie's still pretty under the radar and quiet but she took a big jump because she seems really sweet and likeable. I always support nice UTR people who others probably find boring. :laugh:

BB12 was pretty solid (mainly because of Enzo :fan:). It was also the first season I watched live (partly) after seeing 1 or 2 seasons earlier that summer on youtube.

BB8 was my first season (while or just before BB12 was airing live) and I only found out about it because of that episode where Daniele & Amber went on a game show (The Price Is Right?)... randomly found a video of it on youtube and then decided to watch the season. Now it's one of my favorite shows. Weird how some things happen. :joker:

Completely agree. What I love about BB2-5 is that the format develops every season with simple but significant twists to the core format.

Obviously BB2 had the complete overhaul with the introduction of HoH and the removal of viewer voting, but otherwise still has the innocence of an early BB. The format then develops with the introduction of the Veto and then changes to the rules each season, but sadly after BB7, when they introduced the random element to the Veto picks, the format hasn't really been developed at all. They did try with Battle of the Block but didn't quite get it right.


BB2-BB5 are BBUSA at it's peak. You'll either love or hate BB6 (I hated it), whilst after there there isn't much to choose between them really - it's familarlarity which is the shows biggest problem so if you're watching a season cold it probably doesn't matter hugely which one. My personal choices would be BB10, BB12 or BB16.

Okay, so instead of continuing to lament over the fact that BB18 is on track to be even worse than BB16 somehow, and considering that I'm still on such a high after watching an amazing BB17 episode yesterday, this post will include a mini-ranking of everyone's contribution to Bowlerinagate (there needs to be a better name for it, no?)

6. John McGuire - boring MOR townsperson. Surprise surprise.

5. Steve Moses - another townsperson, but he gets the nod for being HoH and nominating Austin and Liz in the first place.

4. Liz Nolan - I love Liz (honestly, everyone ages super well except John and Jace. Yes, even Austin) but she was definitely a passenger in this debacle. Her contributions were entirely reactionary -- being disgusted by Austin's celebration, thinking Julia's a ****ing idiot who tanked their game, sobbing in bed and yelling at Austin to get the hell out of the bedroom, etc. Great stuff, but still only lands her here.

Austin "Judas" Matelson - I know benevolent sexism is definitely rampant on this subforum but Austin definitely Mattered not only to the quality of this episode but to the quality of the season too. He was the indirect victim of Vanessa's ploy but he took it well! JK, he reacted like a madman :love: he took Vanessa mind****ing Julia as another assassination attempt on his life in the house, put on a clinic as to how to win the Bowlerina POV, and then celebrated his win very humbly and graciously! JK, he went OFF, screaming about how Judas is here and everyone better watch out. The aftermath of it all was pretty great too because Vanessa convinced the twins that Austin wasn't going to throw the comp to Julia, and somehow that led to Liz sobbing in bed yelling at him to get out and Austin screaming that he ruined his life to be with her because he has a girlfriend back at home -- oh yeah, Liz was under the impression this whole time they were on break!

2. Julia Nolan - poor Julia. Contemplating Vanessa's whispers in her ear sealed her fate and she didn't even see it coming. However, the fact that she didn't see it coming is exactly what this saga needed. She never had a chance with Vanessa's game theory and probabilities, although Vanessa did present a ridiculously good case that Austin can't win or else the twins will be nominated against each other. Once the Comp ended and Liz let her realize how badly she ****ed up, she still let Vanessa get in her ear and was pissed at Austin. This all culminated in Julia throwing Austin's clothes around the bedroom, putting on his tophat and mocking Judas before throw his hat across the room, and then commenting on how ugly he and his ponytail beard are :love::love::love:

1. Vanessa Rousso - duh, how could it not be Vanessa? How could it not be the girl who launched a split-second whisper campaign to turn Austwins against each other? How could it not be the girl who had a weepy meltdown to Austwins after she got exactly what she wanted? How could it not be the girl who defended her decision to the twins by citing that she's a game theory expert and was trying to coach the twins to maximize their probabilities? How could it not be the girl who effortlessly swore on her girlfriend's life, her mother's life, and her own life while choking on her own tears due to a situation she entirely engineered herself? How could it not be the girl who after reading Austin for filth to his girlfriend and her sister, earnestly told Austin that she was defending him even though she thinks he's a piece of **** for what he did today? How could it not be the girl who after turning Julia against Austin, guilt-tripped Austin into apologizing not to Liz or to Julia but to herself? You can say what you want and have your opinions on Vanessa, but she was the sinister catalyst of this amazing episode and the amazing endgame of BB17. Vanessa had it all -- excellent game-awareness, remarkable social manipulation, weepy theatrics, emotional blackmail -- and she put it all on display in this episode.
