Now this, on first impressions, I really like. Sounds very interesting, if they pull it off well.

Pete.

Lowkey here for it if they keep it secret all series long

Blood vs. Water teas?

Headie
26-05-2016, 06:10 PM
I'd be here for a Blood vs Water type twist as long as it meant no celebrities

Only thing is there's no way they wouldn't know their relatives were living in that big massive new house next door :joker:

Jack.

So basically the family members will be the dark force then if this is true?

Oaker
26-05-2016, 06:14 PM
There will obviously be a fake eviction where the fake evicted housemates move into the other house .

I hope this confirms no celebs too :fc:

Ross.
26-05-2016, 06:14 PM
surely there will be at least one fan in there that's going to know about this second house

Will.
26-05-2016, 06:15 PM
That would be quite cool

Bosses are still working out how they will be shown on TV, with an insider suggesting that they could be shown in separate episodes.

Doesn't that sort of defeat the whole purpose

Jake.
26-05-2016, 06:18 PM
i'd rather this than the celebs

Shaun
26-05-2016, 06:19 PM
unless it's Jackie and Charlie who cares

Marsh.
26-05-2016, 06:19 PM

They could have the houses aware of each other, but they don't meet so don't know who the other housemates are.

But then history tells us the walls are paper thin so the secret would be out within a day.

MB.
26-05-2016, 06:20 PM
Yeah, I'd take a series of housemates against their relatives over housemates against minor Ladies of London cast members any day

thisisdanny

two separate episodes ok then

Natalie.

Samm

This sounds way better then celebs

Jamesy

The second house is hardly going to be a secret, even if HMs are in hiding now. If they've seen the show they will notice the huge two storey extension stuck on the side.

Also

Bosses are still working out how they will be shown on TV, with an insider suggesting that they could be shown in separate episodes.

Given we only get one episode a night, how would they do this, we would get two days coverage of one house (in an episode)... The only way this could work is if episodes were two hours long, unless they really want to chop down the editing so it is more of a Ex on the Beach/Geordie Shore style of editing. This is also where live feed is important and should be a part of the format.

See I'd much prefer this idea to celebs and it might be interesting, but I don't see what the point of it would be?

Surely if you're putting relatives in you'd rather have them living together to watch the dynamic? What's there to gain if they exist without knowing each other are there the entire series? It'd be one 'shock' revelation and then back to normal as usual

TomC
26-05-2016, 06:57 PM
I think one would know the other was there, and one wouldn't in each pair, which would be interesting.

And I'm sure the 'big reveal' would be a huge event.

Niamh.

ugh as if the relatives won't no the other is going in

Josy
26-05-2016, 07:12 PM
Meh not interested in this tbh

*mazedsalv**
26-05-2016, 07:19 PM
IF they are already in hiding and haven't read papers, i think this would be quite interesting.

But, surely they are still around, so they would know?

thisisdanny
26-05-2016, 07:23 PM
Think we can safely rule out the relative twist then

zakman440
26-05-2016, 07:24 PM
Would much rather this than Celebs vs Civilians (though Live Feed will be needed). Obviously it's not perfect and a switch to a different (US or AU) format would be better but at least it's not speeding up the process of Celebrity Big Brother eventually taking over the civilian version.

"According to the paper, a pair of relatives could secretly be split up and placed on opposite sides of the divide"

They're not saying that all the housemates in one house will have a relative in the other house, just that maybe there will be one pair of relatives.

BTW, I don't know/remember if it has been done somewhere else on launch nights, but in Israel they did something along those lines (just without a second house).
They originally went on putting 15 housemates in the house, but while they were filming one of the young female contestant's VT, they also interviewed her dad which turned out to be quite an unusual old character and they asked him to secretly enter the house without his daughter's knowledge.
He was the last one to enter the house as the launch twist.
It was really good, and yet again it depends on the hms' personalities (and the 2nd house thing), it might as well fall flat.

It all depends on the casting and what they then decide to do with the cast. The worrying thing is that we all loved the start of last year but it wasn't reflected in the ratings. All the Twitter and Facebook knobs were going "wahhhh its borin weres the fgts no argumnts not gnna wtch" and then it all went to **** from there.

This wont work obviously the relatives will tell each other they've been chosen as housemates, secondly they don't go into hiding soon enough so that was probably read by half the new housemates and thirdly the walls are paper thin I also agree why put relatives in a new house the whole point would be to se the dynamics which from past experience when relatives have entered hasn't been that gripping if anything they should have a house full of exes or rivals .

Not here for Big Brother: Ex in the House.

Well it would caus emore entertainment than Jackie Travers and Charlie or Jem and Faye.

Now maybe an over protective dad and daughter would be interesting but usually it just ends up with the housemates not being able to have fun and getting told off by their parents which as a viewer is enraging.

Charlie/Jackie and Jem/Faye were interesting storylines to watch tho

Nnn they clearly both knew since they were both filmed having dinner at the dinner table together with their family in their VTs
