View Full Version : Tickets reportedly cancelled at random, new set capacity less than 200

Apparently an email has gone out to some ticket holders for launch saying:

"It is with MASSIVE REGRET that we have had to cancel your tickets for tomorrow night's Big Brother Launch.
After a health and safety inspection this morning our audience numbers have dropped dramatically - in fact, we are unlikely to get 200 audience members into the new audience area versus a previous expectation of 350!
Due to the above we have had to cancel tickets entirely at random. - Sadly, as you may be aware, all tv audience tickets are free of charge and subject to change at any time.
We would hate for you to travel all the way to be turned away at the show! - Please do not attempt to use your tickets at the launch as your QR code will now be rejected resulting in a wasted journey for yourself and your party."

Makes sense as the new area is tiny! Wow though... less than 200 spaces!

How big was the old crowd? It makes sense that the crowd capacity has shrunk after the embarrassing lack of interest last year

470 was previous capacity.

60% less capacity.

The old set could hold approximately 470 people - although I doubt they filled it all given that massive empty chunk where the crane camera was and often the stands were half empty too like during Janice's and Jenna's eviction in CBB16.

I agree, C5 staging has had probably some of the emptiest stages ever. Especially in bad weather cause those parts what you say about (Left side of the spinny eye) was closed when it was wet cause made it all slippery whereas ground was just stone.

Omg how sad if they try to get them to make some noise at the beginning and there's like three women.

"whoop..... whoop"

Jason.

I imagine the booing, chanting, and WOOP WOOP will still be present tbh, it just won't be as loud cause there's half the people there was before, but it won't be gone.

RichardG
06-06-2016, 07:10 PM
the chants and booing and stuff probably isn't going to end but with less than 200 people it'll be so weak i'll bet it's even more embarrassing to watch than usual.

I really don't understand why nobody wants a big as possible audience it's good for the shows image and gives fantastic atmosphere. The best ones where the bb2/bb3 days which had ****ing thousands and I remember Davina calling it a rave once. :joker:

Fair enough I don't like it when people chant "who are ya" and off before they've even gone in but ngl you're all looking at it really pessimisticly.

Because they refuse to exercise even the slightest bit of crowd control.

Our evictions are anything but good for the show's image, they're an embarrassing mess.

Thing is, it was rare to see them fill all of the crowd like people mentioned, and there were empty seats. As least it should look full now with the set being smaller, and a smaller capacity. Less doesn't mean that the atmosphere will be any worse, if anything it could be better. More doesn't always equal louder/better.

I don't think c5 was rarely filled because of low tickets though it's just they were very bad at filling in the crowd as apparently they turn quite a few away when there's massive spaces that are just for the camera. Besides, Celebrity Big Brother has become more trendy in recent years especially more than regular BB so I'd be suprised they can only have 200/300 going to shows when there's millions of viewers watching.

06-06-2016, 07:56 PM
Every time I went to CBB they had to turn people away. I know more people watch CBB but the guys at applause store target people who they know will turn up with guest list tickets. I hope they get the health and safety sorted soon. Must be lack of evacuation or something for the audience. Less that 200 people is rubbish for a space that can hold 400.

Yep and I am quite sure that Jade didn't receive a single nomination for the first few weeks and then every single person nominated her the week after they heard 'Get Jade Out' chants.

The crowd influence should stop tbh.

Mess. Ever since it started all those years ago with GET GRACE OUT, the whole chanting/booing/cheering is apart of the BB experience. While it's irritating as **** when they chant "OFF", it's gonna feel like a bit of a non-event if we don't have lively crowds anymore. Ugh.

You can have a lively crowd without them shouting over the top of the housemate trying to do an interview.
