We deserved a year of storylines for Sam and more development and her to go off on a long holiday before coming back like, some other time

Ant.

What is interesting is how Ruby questioned Iain for sitting with someone, talking, and having a cuppa a few weeks ago

But then today she's pretty much telling him to stay and do what they did a few weeks prior and he didn't listen

****ing gutted that Sam died </3 She was my fave character back in the day and I'm sad that not only did she get no development, she had romantic connections with the worst s character (Jacob) and was a right bitch to our Ruby.

I was ready for ha to survive this and then have her redemption arc but NO!

Morgan.
11-08-2018, 09:38 PM
I'm just glad that Alicia, Iain and Dylan are all still standing. But Sam living would've topped it off.

it's pretty tragic how Sam's return seemed to have no purpose beyond making Lily feel jealous of her and Iain and dating Jacob

'I dont want to die'

Hmmmmmmm so why known yourself off a bridge into a speeding ambulance?

It's not real

Ant.
11-08-2018, 11:30 PM
Sometimes it takes an actual suicide attempt for the suicidal person to realise they want to live.

^

Like I remember seeing similar situations and the same thing being said in other shows

and then I saw this video:

"the millisecond my hands left the rail... it was an instant regret"

You gotta love how the ED staff always insist people get checked over in the most simple of scenarios regardless of whether they're physically injured or not, yet Iain and Sam weren't asked. So basically the one time they didn't want to check if two paramedics who were at the scene of an explosion (one of which was involved in a crash) resulted in death

DrunkerThanMoses
13-08-2018, 09:36 AM
It was a waste of her returning tbh. I can see why she did it as she had a baby in real life so easy money for her... But they never did anything with her. Hope they bring Tom back for her funeral... Might happen as she is married to him in real life

Morgan.

Thing to expect in the new series.
- Tackling bigger issues
- Dark times for Iain
- Lots more of Ruby
- Massive strain on Charlie and Duffys marriage
- Jacobs past
- Romance for Dylan
- The return of Zha Zha (Sharon Gless)
- More Holby and Casualty Crossovers
- Experimental Episodes
- Two new student nurses with a rivalry
- 'Some' new doctors
- Sarisfying end to Alicia's story (not a jail sentence)
- More between Alicia and Ethan
- Less of Connies vulnerable side, more feisty
- Lots of surprises
- A new style of Xmas episode

I'm pretty sure the stock footage ambulance crash in last night's "previously" section was the first time we actually saw the accident from outside!

Overall a good episode, I liked Mr Morris and Hoke!

Christmas storylines for casualty.

1. Charlie and Duffy struggle in their relationship
2. Duffys Dementia ordeal
3. Iain makes a pass at Ruby
4. Marty continues to pretend Robyn's baby is his
5. Ethan and Alicia stuggle in their relationship
6. Jan has a series of mysterious calls and pays someone a sum of money over the phone
7. Dylan has a lonely Christmas

And then things we can assume or hint at from the trailer.
1. Charlie and Duffy breakup
2. Iain faces jail time
3. Elle gets a promotion (she begins wearing her own clothes)

Yeah it's hard to see where the shows going tbh, gutted to lose Louise. Had a love hate feeling towards her but I really liked her these past few months.

Although with her resigning I'm not sure how that'll help her financial situation? The whole storyline was a little dramatic tbh, I doubt she'd be depending on foodbanks. She wouldn't be living a life of luxury - but she'd have enough to support herself surely?

Are they really gonna kill off another paramedic? They've been leaving one after the others lately - and this year is meant to focus on the paramedic team. Idk it doesn't seem right.

Tonight is Elle's last episode,

Rather sad as she is one of the best characters

To be honest probably for the best, the character never shined in any way, I mean she had potential but she never worked. Nothing against the actress, she is a good actress, I just dont think she put her mark on the show like others have. I mean she has been there for 3 years and the only storyline i remember her doing is revealing her sons father was Jacob. I cant remember if Connie took her to court blaming her for Graces care in the hospital, but it sums Elle up that shes had like 2 storylines in 3 years.

Shame as Casualty has been brilliant lately and the people who have gone have gone at the right time and new blood has been brought in and they seem to be working. Archie and Will have been great additions so far

i'm 2 months behind and I can't say I'm too fussed about being spoilt (I knew full well to be spoilt coming into this thread), but I'm a tad miffed about WHY so many great characters are leaving. I can't remember, did Archie survive? I'm glad she saw Ciaran for what he was. He hoisted himself by his own petard by forcing the ED to take on more than they could handle to make Connie crack, and then making the death of a patient seem like a convenience when speaking to a caring doctor!

Did we find out what David's son wanted? I can't remember? For a while I thought he might have been involved in the terror attack haha

I liked the way it was never specified who carried out the attack, but everyone assumed it was a muslim - statistically it probably was, but doesn't make it definite. It was interesting to show those scenes from Kash's perceptive - from the well-meaning but accidentally mildly offensive old lady, to the suspicious bus passengers.

I dont really understand why they are going with a PTSD storyline for Ethan when we just had months and months of one with Connie, Rash dealing with his ethnicity and how people treat them after terrorist attacks would have been a better long term storyline

I'm not warming to any of the newer characters apart from the paramedic Ruby. Shakil from Eastenders and the girl who joined with him are both meh and offer nothing, the Irish guy just makes zero impact and the newest guy is annoying.

Then you've got them almost ramming Archie down our throats.

Morgan.

Ruby, Ian, Dylan And Rash are carrying this show at the moment ngl. Archie would be great if toned down ever so slightly.

I don't get the hate for Archie, I think she's been great and been pretty much righteous in all of her storylines. Connie is trash for framing her, Duffy and others!

A bit too righteous for me, like the writers are desperate to make her likeable. It's coming across very forced to me at least.

Gonna give casualty a break for a couple months again - finding it really hard to get through the episodes at the moment. I dislike the majority of characters and the ones I do like have crap stories.

The only good characters in Casualty at the moment are Ruby, Duffy, David, Rosa, Rash and Dylan.

The rest are either awful or just plain boring. Charlie gets a pass he can stick around for Duffy and hes added so much over the years but why are characters like Robin and Noel still around?

Ethan is really pissing me off at the moment. He's being pretty unprofessional, and his expressions piss me off.

Might sound heartless but the actors who play Charlie and Duffy are god awful. Duffy was
Slightly okay last few months but Charlie is a woeful actor
