I actually thought that Chirstmas episode was pretty good. Nowhere near the best but nowhere near the worst. An improvement on the last two years I think.

I think Max was basically saying it was going to be Phil's last Christmas as in he was going to die. Max was poking fun at him dying I think idk.

The scenes at the end must be what Jake Wood meant by the show looking like a movie, it does look different.

I'm guessing the Cinderella reference is drug related... I'm almost certain that it's only Roxy dying.

I think he was talking about the colouring when the power cut happened
Instead of just filming when it started to dark it was clearly daytime and they darkened the screen

They've been worn out and I agree they should leave now but I don't think they should be killed off
.
I actually think Roxy could have something done to her if they gave her a proper storyline, but Ronnie has been stale since she came back. Ronnie's character has been ruined in her second stint, in her first stint she was one of my favourite characters as a kid and I much preferred her to Roxy.
Marsh.
27-12-2016, 11:34 PM
I completely understand the decision to write both out, they are exhausted and are in dire need of a break. Especially Ronnie, the writing for her and taking her down the murderous route for seemingly no reason whatsoever has ruined her.
But killing them off is a waste. After a long break they could easily make a big return.
Especially Roxy, she's never really lived up to her potential as a character.

Well yeah it was always going to be either one or the other though, wasn't it? I doubt they'd put the Mitchell's through twice as much grief and leave Jack with three kids to look after.

Yeah I don't think he was axed, his contract just wasn't renewed so we'll probably have his recovery then he'll leave in April.
The only thing I dislike about this story is Whitney's complete ignorance to Lee's condition when she was the first to know that he was suffering from depression before... but I suppose they had to do this so they could build into the "you're not a man; Whitney's going to leave you" routine.

I suppose that's one of the reasons they had the Vic raid. It was such an extreme thing to do that it would disgust anyone and Whitney may not immediately make the mental health connection and her disgust at his actions then feed his feelings even more.

I think Whitney is in denial (and a bit ignorant) so doesn't really know how to cope with it
I don't think she understands that the depression is at fault. She probably thinks whatever tablets he's taking have cured him.

Something's off with it because, from a writing perspective, what's the point in her miscarrying, to then get pregnant again within a short space of time when Lee's leaving either way.

Which is why I think it could be phantom
Whitney's so scared she's losing Lee that she's convinced herself she's pregnant in the hope he stays
Which in itself makes things worse because he doesn't think he can look after a baby
She's definitely not going to give birth. I would've assumed she was faking but then she was secretly looking at carry-chairs.

He didn't take the tablets though, did he? I seem to recall him pretending/refusing without his family knowing. DTC dropped the storyline quite fast before SOC took over so I'm not sure what happened there.
Do we know if there was a direct cause for Lee's depression the first time around?

Perhaps she can get pregnant, but can't have kids? Wasn't that what Bish Bash Tosh had, with all those miscarriages? Either that or everything turns out fine and Lee and Whitney both leave in April.
