Facebook is in full meltdown mode right now :love::love: 75% of the posts are threatening to quit if the goats get killed/demanding that Sandra gets ejected bc "THIS IS NOT NAKED AND AFRAID" and "she can afford to miss a few meals anyway" and other ridiculousness, and then the other 25% of the posts are people melting down over Caleb because "IT'S STUPID TO GET RID OF YOUR STRONG PLAYERS" and "5-1 tribe switches are unfair" even though Caleb wasn't on one of those tribes :joker:

If they're gonna quit, do it now and do it because of Saaaandra.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Caleb get destroyed by Hali at tribal council. That wasn't even a fair fight though on one side you have a moron and the other side is a smart young lawyer.

I liked last night's episode.

Nothing really special happened, except maybe Hali's clap-backs at Caleb (but tbh Caleb does a good job of making himself look stupid anyway). I'm happy they let the goats go, I would have went bananas if they killed either the baby or the mother—I still love Sandra, though her ruthlessness of wanting to eat the goats has tainted my adoration of her quite slightly.

I thought Troyzan was one of the best from the episode tbh. I thought his response to finding the clue was rather sweet, and I'm weirdly compelled by Brad and his game-play.

I'm just amazed that the whole tribe is walking on their tiptoes bc they're so afraid of going against Sandra  like JT's entire motive for catching the goat was to please Sandra since she wanted to eat, and everyone was so delicate in trying to break the news to Sandra that she's literally the only one who wants to eat the goat :joker:

MESSS at Caleb going home because he went to Tai's wedding and him exposing someone from before the game trying to tarnish Sandra's name!

After attending zero Tribal Councils on his first season, Caleb Reynolds went to every single one during his time on Survivor Game Changers — which, admittedly, wasn’t that long. The so-called Beast Mode Cowboy once again parted ways with Survivor on Day 9 of the game, although this time, at least he walked out on his own two feet. Once again, Caleb’s Survivor downfall came within view of Tai Trang, his best buddy from the Beauty beach days. But this time, Tai was directly involved in Caleb’s exit, casting one of the five votes that sent the Big Brother alum packing after his third consecutive Tribal.

In this week’s exit interview, Caleb talks about what wasn’t shown at Tribal Council, how his recent wedding was used as an excuse to vote him out, why he has no hard feelings toward Tai, why he was so harsh in his assessment of Sandra Diaz-Twine before the season (spoiler: it involves a phone call with an unrevealed third party), Sandra’s secret immunity idol, and more.

Josh Wigler (Survivor press, Parade): So much for the Kaoh Rong Four, I guess?

Caleb Reynolds (Kaoh Rong): Yeah, so much!

Wigler: What happened here, Caleb? Talk me through it from your perspective. Why did they vote you out and not Hali?

Caleb: In my perspective, I believe… I’m just going to say this. I believe what was said at Tribal Council, which they did not show — obviously there’s a short amount of time to add everything in — but I remember Sierra at Tribal saying, “Why would we want to keep these two together? He was at your wedding.” That stood out to me. It made me think, “Hold on. So you’re telling me I’m going home because Tai was at my wedding? I’m going home because of that? That’s why? Not because of anything else?” Because I didn’t do anything wrong. So I stood up to her and said, “Wait a minute. So I’m going to go home because Tai was at my wedding? So Hali should go home because you have matching tattoos, from the last time you played together.” They played together on their season and afterwards they got their little tattoos. When she called me out on Tai being at my wedding, and how it would be stupid of them to keep us two together, we’re too good of friends? I honestly think that’s what happened, on the girls’ end of it. Then Brad Culpepper was just scared of me. He was a big, strong male on the tribe. When I came in, I think he thought, “Wait a minute. There can only be one alpha male here.” I believe that was probably his sense: “There’s another alpha male here, which means they can just kick me out because Caleb’s a better competitor than me. If they got him, they won’t need me.” Maybe that was his way of looking at it. But I’m sure there were a few reasons.

Wigler: I can’t believe inviting Tai to your wedding got you into so much trouble. What an argument for the private ceremony. Get hitched, don’t invite anybody.

Caleb: In all honesty, I don’t think the life outside of Survivor should affect how you play the game. I do believe that having Tai with me was a curse. But then again, if we wouldn’t have gotten together so early, I believe it would have been fine.

Wigler: Well, from that perspective, were they wise to be worried about your connection with Tai? Maybe their reasons come from outside of the game, but are they right in thinking that keeping the two of you together could be dangerous for them down the road?

Caleb: In all reality… possibly. It could be. I came into this game to play different. Yeah, Tai’s my buddy. He’s my friend. I’ve talked to Tai since, and I do believe that he tried his best. He’s upset that they didn’t show all of his attempts. Basically Brad just went up to him and straight up told him: “Tai, I know you and Caleb are friends, but we have the numbers to send him home, and if you vote against us, that shows us where you’re at.” And that scared him, you know? It being so early in the game. If you don’t vote for Caleb, you’re going next. That’s kind of how Brad came at Tai. It’s an individual game. You have to play for yourself. That early in the game, Tai had to do what was best for himself. That’s why I don’t take it personal. I don’t think I should’ve went home because Tai went to my wedding. That’s the only time I’ve seen Tai outside of Kaoh Rong. I don’t believe it was a good excuse. But that’s what everybody seemed to want to think at Tribal Council.

Wigler: What were your conversations with Debbie like? She’s another one from your season, and in the preseason, she seemed to have a lot of respect for you and what you went through during Kaoh Rong. Where do you think she was coming from with all of this?

Caleb: Do you want me to be honest with you? I didn’t talk to Debbie one time. Debbie and I didn’t have one conversation the whole time. I explained to basically everybody why I should stay and Debbie was against me from day one. Debbie chose Hali over me all day. And go figure. Girl power. It went from three and three to three and two, and I believe that’s probably what the girls wanted and that’s what they got. From what I was told from Tai is Debbie had it out for me. The moment she came on that island she said, “If we lose, Caleb’s going home.” It didn’t make any sense. Isn’t this about winning challenges? I understand later on once you hit the merge, I understand how the game changes. But is it not about winning and getting to the next level and keeping that group you’re with further longer? That way you do have numbers when you hit the merge and you outnumber everybody. … I think they felt that Brad was enough. I think Brad convinced everybody that they didn’t need me. When in all reality, I feel Brad was scared because he’s an alpha male, and when he sees me coming in, it’s like an alpha plus male. I think that scared him a little bit. He wanted to get rid of me, and he convinced everybody to do it.

Wigler: What were your thoughts during the tribe split? You’re with Tai, you’re with a familiar face in Debbie, you have Hali from Mana. What are you thinking of your chances when you see your new tribe?

Caleb: I still felt I was down. I felt I had to find an idol. I didn’t care about anything else. When I get to that camp, I need to find an idol. Because Jeff said it clear. No one had to count for us, because Jeff said it: “Caleb, Hali, you’re outnumbered.” But I have Tai, he’ll try to save me. If he finds an idol, he’ll save me. And Hali is from my tribe. Maybe we’ll be… although we didn’t really converse much. We talked here and there about who should go home, and I told Hali I wasn’t coming after her and she said she wasn’t coming after me, and that’s about as mutual as it was. But then you look in the back row and there’s Brad, Sierra and Debbie. I thought maybe with Debbie? I thought I could be good. I have two people from the last time I played, I have Hali who I’ve been with since day one, she’s here, I think we can team up and send one of the other people home. That was my initial thought. Then again, when you have pre-game alliances, all of those numbers go down the drain. That’s what I think happened with Hali and Sierra. They probably connected before the game: “We played once together, let’s do it again.” Sort of the same as me and Tai: “Hey man, I’m going to try my best to keep you safe.” It happens.

Wigler: So you’re not buying it when Hali and Sierra say they have no relationship? Because I found it surprising that everyone seemed to just accept it as a fact.

Caleb: Her defense was: “Caleb, that was three years ago!” Okay! It doesn’t matter, the time. It’s this simple: y’all have matching tattoos from when you played. You can’t tell me you’re not friends. That’s stupid. I don’t go get my wife’s name tattooed on me thinking I’m going to divorce her tomorrow, you know? It’s that simple. Don’t sit over there and tell me I’m going home because Tai came to my wedding, and yet you have matching tattoos with the girl sitting right in front of you. I honestly feel that they wanted girl power. And I even said it at Tribal. I’m not going to talk too much about production and editing — but they didn’t show it. I fought my butt off to stay in that game. I looked for idols for several hours. They didn’t show it. At Tribal Council, I was fighting and fighting until they read the votes. I stood up on my feet. I did everything I could to stay. They didn’t show that. They have a story they want to tell. I’m sure they wanted it to look like Tai stabbed me in the back and I was heartbroken. But that’s not the case.

Wigler: You kissed and made up at the end. That was pretty clear.

Caleb: Of course! Of course, man. I don’t take that stuff personal. You can’t let that stuff get to you and change who you are. And I believe everyone knows that’s not who I am — to be malicious and back-stabbing and manipulative and all that stuff. It’s not who I am. Tai did what I feel was best for his game, and I would have done the same thing. I wish him the best of luck. I kissed him on the head and walked out with my head out high.

Wigler: I want to ask you about something from the pre-game. You were pretty salty about Sandra going into the game. I know you have changed your opinion since then; you said so on Twitter, that you have a lot more respect for Sandra now than you did from before the game. When did that shift happen for you?

Caleb: This is what happened before the game. The only thing I knew in my mind… I did go back and watch one of her seasons. Sandra seemed like a strong player, but she did it in a way that’s almost hard to recognize. What did she do? She’s nice to everybody and she does a lot around camp, but what the heck does she do behind the scenes that got her all the way to the end? It’s not like she won any individual immunity challenges, so what was she doing? She’s not being a big asset to the team as far as winning challenges. So what, socially, is she doing? But in all honesty, there was a person from before the game — I don’t want to say any names, but I’m sure people can probably figure it out — I’m not going to say names on it. They basically painted Sandra out to be the devil: “She has to go. She’s this. She’s that. She’s going to come after you. Blah, blah, blah.” Almost a twice a week deal where I would have a counseling session on why I should get Sandra out. It seemed like this person maybe had a personal vendetta against Sandra. I talked to this person so much before the game, that this is who I wanted to go home. It was almost like they wanted her gone, so she wouldn’t get to play the game — and it wasn’t me. So just like I said in my tweet, I was completely wrong about who Sandra is. Sandra is nice. She’s bright. She’s fun. She’s a good player. She deserved to be there. Everything I said going in, I don’t say now. She has my respect. She was very respectful on the island, very nice and sweet. It’s one of those game plays that makes you wonder… how does a woman like that get to the end? She’s just so nice. But I did catch her trying to make a fake idol.

Wigler: Wait, stop. Tell me about that. Sandra made a fake idol?

Caleb: She basically was taking the beads and stuff off of the torches. When you would come back from Tribal, there were these little beads, and she cut one of the things off at night. She was trying to make a fake idol out of it. She was coming out of the woods, her and Troyzan. Right in between her breasts, it basically showed four or five big knots. And I was like, “Uh, Sandra? What’s going on?” It just stuck out, clear as day. It looked like an idol or something. I said, “Sandra… what’s up with you? What’s up with your… chest? Is that…?” And she was like, “You caught me, Caleb. You caught me. I was trying to make a fake idol to try to hide it and get somebody to use it.” So needless to say, you know me. I ran around telling everyone, “Sandra’s trying to make fake idols!” I straight up went and told on her. She came out and told everyone: “Caleb caught me. I was trying to make a fake idol.” But needless to say, she’s great. She does deserve to be there. I hope everyone enjoys her game play and enjoys watching her. And I want to say it again: I was completely wrong about who Sandra was going into the game.

Wigler: You have to stop taking these phone calls, Caleb. It’s not a good idea!

Caleb: Yeah. (Laughs.)

Wigler: Misinformation! You can’t trust it!

Caleb: That’s basically what it was, man. But you go in and you do your best and you play with the cards you’re dealt. When the buffs dropped, I didn’t receive a good hand of cards. I did my best. Obviously I was seen as too big of a threat.

Wigler: Like you said, you went out on your own two feet. Is it easier to live with getting voted out than the way you went out last time?

Caleb: I would much rather be voted out. I’m not such a guru of these types of games that if I lose, my life is over. I see it as an opportunity. It’s going to be fun. It’s for a big check. But it’s not worth my life. I don’t see it that way. I would much rather be voted out and shake everyone’s hands on the way out, and thanks for letting me play. Being voted out is much easier. Last time, I was in a helicopter and a Cambodian hospital ICU for five days, and I get flown home, and six months later I’m still battling heatstroke and I’m taking medications to fix my stomach because the liner melted. I was just all jacked up. I dealt with it for several, several months. Even now, when it’s 75 degrees outside, I feel like it’s 150. I still feel from it. This time, you get voted out. It’s just one of them things. I was outnumbered and I’m going home and good luck to Tai. It was a lot more simple.

Wigler: And you got to go back to Ponderosa and get a big hug from Tony, I hope.

Caleb: Oh yeah. (Laughs) I sure did. Tony and I are really good friends now. We talk dang near every day.

So that was a... fun? episode? I think? Recent swaps have been pretty mind-numbing, so stuff like, well, both Nuku scenes were very much welcome. Plus, Brad's actually doing really well so far, and not just because he's constantly invoking the spirit of Monica by hanging random **** everywhere in the name of interior design. <3 Also, Debbie's standing confessional <3 Also also, the Make-a-Wish challenge that killed Missy Payne returning <3 Also x3, the fact that after 34 seasons they're finally doing a three tribe double boot episode (Ausvivor ha impact?) <3

Nothing remarkable, but my incredibly low expectations going into this season have been matched, and it's nice to see some characterisation - however brief - in an All Star season after the horror that was Cambodia. Plus, the great boot order that we've had so far has helped. Good job! Ish!

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I’m not going to ask you if you were happy with the results of the tribe swap because I know you’re happy no matter which way it turns out. However, I will ask what it is like for you and the other producers once you walk away from that beach after a swap. Do you all break down the most intriguing storylines as a result of the new tribes, and if so, what were the things that struck you most about this swap?
JEFF PROBST: Yes, that’s exactly what happens. The minute they begin to take their spots with their new tribes, all of us are evaluating the impact. Who is on the wrong side of the numbers? Who is reunited with someone they’ve played with before? What is the division of men vs. women? How evenly are they divided in terms of strength? Sometimes it’s really even and sometimes it’s very uneven. If there is one tribe that is clearly going to struggle in the water or doesn’t have any strong people to do heavy lifting, you will probably see John Kirhoffer (supervising producer in charge of challenges) start to squirm because he is thinking of the next challenge and how it will play, but the rest of us just take note and move forward.

The big story on this tribe swap were the people on the wrong side of the numbers. It’s a game-changing moment when you go from being a part of a strong alliance to being all alone. We tend to focus the story on those people for a moment because the decisions they make in those first few moments with their new tribe are critical.

So, let’s get into the whole goat situation. I realize it’s difficult to answer this on a full stomach, but what would you have done in that situation: eaten the mommy goat or let her go? And how much would your vote have depended on how the other people were voting?
No question I couldn’t and wouldn’t kill either of the goats. I know it’s hypocritical given I’d be happy to eat one of the chickens. And I know it’s hypocritical given I’ll be having sushi tonight for dinner and steak later in the week. I am well aware that I am full of annoying contradictions, but in this case, it just didn’t seem fair. The only reason they caught the mom was because she was protecting the baby. It was an uneven playing field. But if the entire tribe wanted to kill the goat, then I would go along with it.

One of the things you learn being around Survivor this long is there are times to make your point and times to just be quiet. If the rest of your tribe is going to do something you disagree with, stating your apprehension only causes more separation. It’s happening either way, so if you can’t stop it, don’t waste the chip. Again, I’m talking only in a situation like Survivor, not in real life where the stakes could be much higher. I have no problem sticking up for what I believe in those situations. But in a game of social politics, you gotta know when to go with the flow.

BONUS QUESTION: I just want to touch on this quickly because it’s worth clearing this up for people that did not watch the Second Chance season: In terms of an idol being hidden at a challenge, you only hide it if someone has found the clue, correct? And as these idols at challenges now become more common, do you expect players to start looking for them even without clues?
The answer to your first question is there are no rules that are hard and fast when it comes to idols. But in this case, yes, we placed it only after we knew Troyzan had found the clue because in this case it was only meant for the person who found the clue. As for the second question, maybe some people will start looking for idols at challenges, even though we’ve never just outright hidden one without a clue, but it comes with a heavy risk. If you focus more on an idol than winning a challenge and you get caught, you’re probably gone.

It seems to me that Brad really got one over on Tai here by telling him that keeping a strong ally in the game could hurt him later at the merge. (If that was the case shouldn’t everyone just vote out their strongest partner?) What was your take on Brad’s move and Tai going along with getting rid of Caleb?
Brad is a very good player and I am so happy we are getting see his strategy. We knew when we met him he could be very good, but playing with his wife the first time around was complicated. I don’t think there is a universal approach when it comes to how to deal with past relationships. I think the Tai and Caleb alliance is a very unique situation because Tai was so open about his fondness for Caleb. So you do assume they would vote together, even though I’m not sure that’s the case from Caleb’s point of view.

So yes, I think Brad made a great move and one I would have looked at as well. As for Tai, we all know he is a very fun player to watch and a top 10 fan favorite. But I still can’t fully figure out his game. Does he make mistakes at times by being too honest about his feelings? Or is he putting on a bit of a show by playing naive? The jury is still out on that one!

Looks like we have a Tribal Council double whammy in store next week. What can you tell us about what’s coming up?
What I can tell you is that’s not all there is to that twist… it’s another game-changing moment and another amazing episode. Anything else would spoil it..

- 5-1 and 4-2 are basically the same thing realistically. 3-2 is a different story because you just need one person to flip.

~keeping the tribe strong~ is such an old school mindset, especially after a tribe swap when people are coming in with different backgrounds and allegiances from their previous tribe and especially in a season of all returnees who have presumably pregamed and cut deals before they left the country. Not to mention that for all his alleged strength Caleb went to every Tribal Council this season so  and 5-1 and 4-2 are nowhere close to the same alol. Plenty of people have overcome a 4-2 deficit by actually ~playing da game~ and seeking out weak spots and exploiting them. Caleb's only strategy is to fall backwards into a majority alliance and pick off everyone else while gleefully taking orders from the alliance's leader.

That hardly makes her a queen... The fact you think that makes her seem a 'queen' for that action is questionable and says a lot about your character.

Because killing both a baby goat and it's mother [so all the other baby goats starve to death] is so funny and hilarious - when they have plenty of food and egg laying chickens available.

That made me feel disgusted and put me off Sandra, she was my series favourite prior to the episode.

Unless you're vegan that's highly hypocritical. Even eating those goats would be 1000X more ethical than where we get our meat from. Also it's probable that that baby goat was its only child.

Just watched the premiere and I didn't think it was great TBH. It felt far too rushed and it feels like there's way too many players this season (I've watched plenty of seasons with twenty players in before but this one just feels incredibly messy). The first episode was REALLY rushed but the second one was better. Only really bothered about Sandra and Michaela at the moment.

I don't eat meat, but I just fail to realise what makes her a 'queen' for wanting to slaughter a baby goat and it's mother - It's not like they're starving which I could understanding, it's not even as if She was willing to do it, she was wanting someone else [who didn't want to do it] do it. If she really needed the meat she should do it herself.

I just find it unjustifable and it really hurts her character, all the other survivors even said they're not hungry and they have plenty of food it'd just be cruel to kill all those baby goats just for the sake of it.

It felt far too rushed and it feels like there's way too many players this season (I've watched plenty of seasons with twenty players in before but this one just feels incredibly messy). The first episode was REALLY rushed but the second one was better. Only really bothered about Sandra and Michaela at the moment.

Have to agree, something missing from this season, I mean apart from Sandra and Tony its kinda been crap so far. It needs some good blindsides, hopefully it will pick it.

Hali played well in the last episode and deserved to stay for that regard, but Mana tribe is being stupid and just asking for trouble getting rid of their strength. They are still at least a few eps before back to two or a merged tribe and i´m pretty sure that with this Mana team they are going to lose most of them.

The theory of "we need to keep x because they're strong and muscular" is so stupid - like if you're not winning the challenges now with them in the team what makes you think keeping them round will make your tribe suddenly start winning?

Surely it's better to get the strong threats out early so they don't snatch all the individual immunities at merge

DrunkerThanMoses

Every vote off so far has been unanimous votes against one person. Yawn. I think the fact we have a spoilered boot list as well as a rumoured final 3 it just sucks all the fun out of the season

MB.
20-03-2017, 08:11 PM
Except the non-unanimous Tony vote (granted, that was Sandra making sure she didn't get idol'd out, but still)

And as long as this season is better than MvGX, which it currently is - as if that's a high bar to reach - then I'm happy!

But Caleb's 0-3 track record this season would've helped Mana out so much!!!

Nobody is strong enough as one person to win every challenge if the team aren't working well together/as strong as they could potentially be. Losing Caleb just isn't going to strengthen them because it's highly likely he would be more help than Hali. It's a team effort and Caleb seems to be a lot more driven/motivated than Hali. She pretty much sat there and 'hoped for the best' at tribal and she got lucky.

Macie Lightfoot

I just think the idea of keeping the tribe strong is laced with sexism, especially when Caleb's strength is just his physique. Hali swam against Ozzy in the first IC and held her own from what I remember  then again, Eliza @EOrlins Orlins has been on this absurd anti-Hali crusade and furiously retweeting anything involving her dropping the snake in the second IC

It might be that Mana is just the tribe that sucks at everything, loses a lot and is somehow cursed. Most Survivor seasons usually have that tribe and this time it´s Mana. Don´t like that name being tarnished though.

It's not sexism :idc: It's just a fact they usually cast way more fit guys than girls. Caleb is absolutely going to be way better at challenges than Hali, it's ridiculous we're going to pretend he's equally responsible for losing as the others .

They need to cast more Michaelas (strong + competitive females) or at least cast more guys without 6 packs and muscles

"Keeping the tribe strong" is really code used by certain players/the Survivor Facebook page for "keep dudes with big muscles and get rid of the women" and if you want to say that that mindset isn't laced with sexism then you're just lying to yourself. Like I said, Hali held her own against Ozzy in the first IC when they had to swim, and the Survivor Facebook page continually jerks itself off to how great of a swimmer Ozzy is. The only thing I can think of that Caleb did in a challenge this season was lead his tribe through the thickets as opposed to crawling over them in this week's challenge. That quickly put Mana in last place and they ended up losing  I don't see how losing Caleb is going to hurt Mana when he hasn't done anything at all to help them. Having big muscles doesn't meant you're keeping the tribe strong, especially when the tribe is weak as ****.

this show is becoming Paradise Hotel/Big Brother US levels of introducing convoluted twist after twist every single week. Like, yes, you Played The Best Game for working your way through a medley of dumb twists that are not interconnected in any way, shape, or form. Well-earned million for you.

Not to mention that we are BOUND for another tribe swap within the next two episodes, since we need to mix things up every third week roughly (how much longer until Survivor drops the entire concept of tribes?), making the whole notion of ~KEEPING THE TRIBE~ strong even more ludicrous, since in another 8 days you'll be at a different camp with different people.

That tribal council was a ****fest, but I was LIV-ING throughout the whole thing.

I understand that the concept itself would be potentially ****ty if they rehash it for future seasons, but it was entertaining to see everyone scramble at their most vulnerable. I would have preferred Sierra to go over Malcolm, but only by an inch. He's not a major casualty to the season considering what he's provided.

I'm excited to see how things will unfold next week. It seems like J.T. is a dead-man walking, but Debbie seems to have it out for Brad for some bizzare reaso so who knows. I'm not really keen to see Tavua at tribal because I want Cirie to be as safe as possible till merge.

Still finding this season a tad dull, they could have really not done a reward challenge in this episode as I want to see more of the Dynamics; I mean the green tribe is invisible, I have no idea what is going on apart from Troyzan has a idol and that Ozzy fishes/him and cirie.

I actually liked the twist, it is probably the best tribal this season so far, at least it was not a unanimous vote again, Would have liked JT to go though.

Good episode. Such a crazy tribal.

Was looking forward to seeing Sandra voted out, but alas that didn´t happen. Instead Malcolm went which hurts Nuku quite a bit. In the end J.T effed up and most likely screwed up his game completely by revealing to Mana who Nuku was voting for (which was Sierra) allowing them to use the idol to save her and send home Malcolm, Nuku´s biggest challenge asset imo. Sandra´s head is getting a tad too big at the moment.

Wigler: You lose this immunity challenge. You already know two tribes are going to Tribal Council, and then Probst drops the bomb that the two tribes are going to vote out one person. What’s going through your head as you’re chewing on this twist?

Malcolm: Fireworks are going off. This is fantastic! I loved it. In the immediate aftermath… I’m better at counting than Brad. I can count to six. I know that they have five. We loved it. I’ll tell you this, too. Varner was bawling his eyes out after the challenge, because he cost us a huge lead and knew it. Don’t quote me on this, someone do the research, but I think this was the same day he got voted out last time, and that was a big deal for him. He knows this, and he blew a huge lead in the challenge. I don’t remember exactly how he got stuck in the last role for that, but he dropped the ball like three times and really blew the challenge. He was bawling his eyes out. Immediately, me and JT were looking at each other thinking, “I think we might need to get rid of Varner.” And you’ve never seen somebody so heartbroken in your life. And then Probst says: “We’re only voting out one person.” And you see Varner just light up. He knows it. He’s perfectly good again. He goes from crying his eyes out to the biggest smile of his life in a window of sixty seconds. And I thought it was great.

Varner

What happens is with Hali… I don’t know where the hell Hali’s head is at often in Tribal Council. She has a habit of saying things that get her into trouble. She wanted us to vote Brad, but we knew that JT liked Brad. We thought we needed JT. We didn’t want to go that way. Our other thought with Hali was, and we obviously didn’t know what happened with the Caleb vote; we had no information on that vote. We don’t know her standing on that tribe. We just want to keep her safe. If we’re trying to play along original tribe lines, then our idea was to keep Hali safe and give her plausible deniability in her tribe and keep her out of this. Then it’s JT running back and forth. I don’t know if he knew about the idol. I don’t think he did, but I don’t know. He runs over there and he doesn’t tell us that he told Brad about us voting for Sierra, just that he was keeping Brad safe. Then about two-thirds of the way through, and we’ve already been through about a dozen of these huddles, his demeanor shifts big time. You didn’t see this in the episode, but JT knew something was wrong, two-thirds of the way through this Tribal Council. He’s sitting there saying, “Guys, we need to change the vote. Guys, we need to change the vote.” And that’s why it stretched a lot longer, because he was trying to convince us to do something. But we’re all sitting there and thinking, “Why? Why, JT? We don’t understand.” And he wouldn’t tell us that he told them exactly who we were voting for. He’s telling us to change the vote, but not telling us why. It’s like a kid who wants to admit half of what he’s done wrong, because it’ll mitigate the punishment later. If he just told us that everything is different… but because he didn’t want to own up to it, he just sat there with his head in his hands, before the vote even started. He knew something was wrong, and that was a big part of what happened.

what.a.mess.

Malcolm: Sierra is my good buddy in real life. You know my Dirty 30 connections. I think I grabbed her leg, because she’s my friend, and that’s why she gave me the kiss. And then I think she said, “I love you.” But they cut that out. And Culpepper said something too, over-the-top. Sandra got furious and started bitching while I was on my way out. There was a lot of mumbling and grumbling. They showed some of it after I walked off, people talking on their way out of Tribal. But the minute my name popped up? I think Sandra and Varner both squeaked. I got the kiss. Culpepper said something nice; I don’t remember what it was. But that doesn’t really make it any easier. (Laughs.)

Brad: "We in the business call a mexican stand-off, potentially. Our guns are pointing at them, their guns are pointing at us. The question is: 'is one of their guns pointing at themselves, and is one of our guns pointing at ourselves?'

Sandra: "Jeff, all of our guns are pointing at them."

Sandra:"She said the magic words: USED! TO!"

*

Jeff: "Debbie, what are you thinking right now?"

Debbie: "I have two questions: Does HE (points at J.T.) flip, does SHE (points at Hali) flip.

-Chaotic scrambling and whispers ensue-

*

Sierra: "You know where you stand with us, Hali."

Michaela: "Yeah, on the outside right, where they put you."

*

Aubry: "I feel like I showed up at the wrong wedding or something."

*

Hali (raises hand): "I wanna say somethin'. I think this is a stupid time to be thinking about anything except physical threats. You asked me where I am, that's where I stand."

*

Hali: "If that's how we're gonna do it."

-storms over to Sandra and takes her whispering embrace-

*

Hali: "I didn't consent :/"

*

I didn't mean to spam throughout that, but as you can tell I enjoyed that tribal council a lot. It's going to be hard for another one to match that.

I'm astounded by Debbie in the preview: "I was loyal to you completely...AND YOU CRUSHED MY HEART!"

I haven't seen the episode yet but holy sh*t this boot order is a travesty. :yuk: I probably should've just waited to watch it rather than read the results but I'm probably not gonna watch it tonight yet either and I just had to know. :joker: It sounds like the TC was crazy though so I hope I didn't ruin any kind of unpredictability that made it good.

Yeah, Malcolm even said at one point that JT looked really suspicious and kept telling NuNuku to switch the vote, but they ignored him and kept it the same.

Malcolm was one of the main people saying 'keep it the same', 'don't change anything', when I watched it back last night. He only has himself and a few others on NuNuku to blame, really.

The entire boot order and winner?

The original list has the pre-merge boots, who made the final tribal council, but no clarification on merge placements.

There are entire lists floating around but there's obviously no certainty to them at the point.

- LOL @ the point in the IC when Tai & Debbie weren't able to hear Brad at all and were just mindlessly walking around.

- Sandra saying if someone messes this up they're gonna get their ass beat back at camp. :laugh3:

- Tai the newest Survivor idol king :clap1:

- Sandra is killing me this TC/episode even more than usual. :joker: "I know I'm not going home tonight, how bout dah"

- Malcolm: If they send me home I'd be cussing my ass down the ramp.

- Lol @ the chaos at TC now with the tribes huddling up. :joker: JT is sooo dumb tho  This would've been soooo good with a Brad or Sierra boot for me personally although definitely more anti-climactic after all this. Brad sucks so so much.

- This wasn't a very good episode, and I hate that Malcolm went :fist:, but that was a very solid tribal council at least. :joker: It probably would've been even better with the unpredictability of not knowing who goes, especially because I probably would've never guessed Malcolm.
