Ok so the 2-episode premiere for S29 wasn't all that to me :think: There were arguments and drama already but it felt kinda empty and not that entertaining. LOVE that Tony & Kailah are guaranteed a spot to the Oasis already though. Those two are up there among my faves :clap1:

Glad I watched the next episode too because even though it wasn't that eventful either it got me more into the season. Kailah was GREAT and I'm once again happy with the result of Cory & Jenna advancing.

The fact they come back over and over is why I love this show. The on show and off show rivalries is what makes it interesting.

Day missed the mark on this one because The Real World got renewed and is filming a new season soon. Also, The Real World paved the way for Big Brother to even exist, so no gurl. However, I totally disagree that it should exclusively be people from The Real World casted.

One one hand, having watched the show for as long as I have, I get where Johnny is coming from. The reason I kept watching was to see relationships like CT and Diem, and rivalries like Wes and Bananas continue on... like a soap opera. That being said, at around season 23, it seemed like the show was on it's last legs and I actually thought it would get canceled sooner than later.
Flash forward to today, and the show is gaining momentum, followers, media, and it has increased it's grand prize to 4x what it was then. How are they doing this? By stealing off the fan base behind BB and Ex on the Beach, and the Bachelor etc. The Twitter and Instagram followers behind these other reality shows are now all about following their favorite reality star onto this new format. 75% of the people posting in this thread now wouldn't be interested in this show if Day, Josh, Paulie... and others weren't apart of the franchise.
Also, the real world format was never enough to pull cast from for the challenge. At first they used road rules, which doesnt exist anymore, then they used just random people they thought would be good competitors under the fresh meat banner, and then they used the MTV dating show that Corey came from but I don't know the name of lol.

So in summary (as if anyone read this), Bananas is just a whiny baby who is sad he is past his prime/winning days... but we already knew that!

S29 is getting really good now. It's picking up steam / improving as the episodes go on (despite a decent amount of people I like going) whereas S28 kept getting a bit worse as the season went on. S28 still probably > S29 atm but it's a lot closer than I was thinking earlier.

The Amanda & Camila fight :joker: Looove Amanda & Camila is funny for bringing some drama I guess even though "The Camilanator" can get kinda annoying and..... loud, to say the least :laugh:

Darrel vs. Johnny for elimination coming up... battle of the Challenge legends with 6 combined wins :omgno: Johnny has been pretty good here in this season, somewhere in between how I felt about him on S28 & how I feel/felt of him on the current season... But I'm rooting for Darrel here.

Hunter sucks... I've yet to like him at all through all these episodes so far. He seems different on the current season as well (but I haven't really liked him in that either). Anyway, I haven't liked Shane either but I TOTALLY prefer him in this blowup between him and Hunter.

FFFFFFFF the "time buster" challenge in the finale... all 6 of them calling a truce and giving up on the beads to go eat food lmao

Definitely preferred the S28 final challenge over S29's. I also prefer S28's elimination format where the best team in the challenge sends 2 teams to elimination against the team that did worst in the challenge. And the luck-based picking skulls was a nice little twist to it as well. (furthermore I didn't like that this was all about bigger teams of champs vs. underdogs rather than the same 2 teaming up throughout)

With that said, entertainment & quality-wise the seasons are close though but I give it to S28 overall as well. It had a slower finish but overall better season (with little things that I preferred which I mentioned above).

CT & Ashley winning though. :love: S29 has MUCH better winners. It would've been better to see the champs vs. underdogs settled in another way where it didn't basically end in a draw lol but still the two I wanted to see win most in the final actually won so that was good. :clap1:

I was pretty happy with Cory saving Tony out of the guys anyway (but I liked literally all the guys that went as well). - Kinda weird because he was literally my favorite of S28 but Devin is a tad on the annoying side in this season so far :laugh: (eh nvm, as I've watched more of this episode I'm feeling better about him)

It's only been 3-4 seasons but so far the Challenge has to be the first RTV show where I pretty significantly prefer the girl characters over the guys and find a bunch of the guys to be annoying/dull egomaniac types :skull: (then again the girls on this show are pretty damn nuts, and sometimes with big egos or nasty as well, but they tend to be a lot funnier and more charismatic than comparable RTV shows :shrug:)
