The emergency services have admitted catastrophic errors in handling the emergency, sadly it is too little too late for the victims of the bombing. All we can hope is that if there is ever another situation like this, lessons have been learned.

It must be horrific for the families knowing the failings and they will be devastated and angry.

I think we're all fed up with the standard 'lessons have been learned' when we all know nothing changes.

I still don't get how the MI5 were apparently watching him but did nothing to stop him killing people?

they are watching thousands of people. Keeping tabs on individuals every movement is a very labour intensive activity that they just don't have the manpower for, we are not Russia.

There were failures at every level, that led to the devastation of the manchester bombing

I just feel that if they're claiming to have been watching him, that surely his plan should've been caught before he successfully pulled it off?

Exactly..

If they have evidence/information on people plotting like this they should deport them immediately on the grounds of National
Security.. maybe it would act as a serious deterrent as well

We are just too soft …

Do yall have metal detectors/ check all bags before a concert over there? I genuinely can’t remember

I mean there’s a little bit of security if you’ve got a biggish bag

I think most of our stadiums and concert halls etc already have weapon detectors in them. I think it’s been like that since 9/11, but I’m not 100% sure.

I’m kinda surprised that the UK doesn’t have as much security but then again, I do live in the US where we eat bullets for brekkie

i don't think they would be able to process people fast enough at stadium entrances if we had proper security.

They search people at West Ham home games. You'll see a big long line of Asian and middle-eastern security guards searching a big long line of mostly white men and if asked why, the Asians will tell the white guys, "terrorism".

if someone wants to commit a mass terror event, they will. They will just adjust the target locations to less secure targets. The frequency may go down which is obviously good, but the threat will always be there

At Ibrox the security detail is 100% Asian and middle-eastern and the attendees are 99.9% white

does that really matter if the venue proves to be secure? The asian community in scotland, in many cases, is more scottish than the whites

The fact is that the terrorist threat in this country is currently is 100% Asian/middle-eastern and to have mostly white football fans searched by Asian/middle-eastern "security" breeds resentment.

White blokes should get of their arses and apply for these jobs. They've already got jobs. That's how they can afford to go to the football.

Obviously referring to the ones who havnt..but even so, it would be a weekend job to pay for a holiday.
