Why is Raph just sitting there and listening to her deluded bull****? His passiveness is starting to irritate me deeply.

I understand it's his gameplan, but it's an annoying one.

Their mission is to win the money...

When she speaks to Raph it's the pre-arranged 'speak to everyone in the house so we don't get accused of not mingling'. She of course will donate her precious time to Raph by warbling on about her very own self.

Raph knows this and sensibly takes the line of least resistance (nodding and smiling). He won't agree necessarily but he knows how to handle neurotics.

Her children were watching (in horror) over a small bread bag - obviously that was not considered when she was offering free porn to stay in...

I think Raph is diplomatic rather than passive. A seldom seen skill in BB.

I am finding Raph to be passive and calculating so far, even sneaky. Not a fan at all at this stage.

I agree that the Suhks are full of ****, but at least it's entertaining, I guess. When you are presented with an open goal of someone waffling on like that, like Raph was, and still just sit there like a nodding dog without challenging it I am not sure what value you have as a HM.

Yeah have to agree with this, what's he supposed to do start an argument with her because of a stupid conversation?

Well, that would be BB in a nutshell, so... Maybe?

But, no, the two choices are not start an argument and sit there like a wet tearag.

Raph is just coming across as sly and calculating. Even a bit slimy in his effort to fence sit :nono::nono:

I do think Raph is playing a game, a clever game and is managing to be a nice person with it. That to me makes an interesting HM to watch. the loud, argumentative for the sake of it, foul mouthed ones who have to have an opinion on everything are the HMs i dislike but each to their own

Maybe showing an opinion at all would be a start?! Doesn't have to be an argument but at least show you don't agree with someone else and you have opinions on things.

The only time we've seen him talk out so far is in the Diary Room for nominations. He seemed more than confident and comfortable doing that so why is he so timid in the house?! In fact he was quite cutting in the Diary Room with nominations. We just haven't seen that side of him other than that. We need it more.

because he is playing a game imo and a good one at that, I find him fascinating to watch, knowing how much he knows about BB, it's really interesting to see how he's playing this. It looks to me like he's biding his time and choosing his battles. He's one of the most popular HMs right now with the public so so far it's working

I don't know him in r/l like Shaun and them do but any dealings with him I've had on the forum, he's been really pleasant and inoffensive, like we see him but I also think he has a game playing strategic side

Yes I agree that so far it is working but how long will it work for him when people keep seeing one person in the house. Then as soon as he is in the Diary Room it's someone completely different. I don't think the general public will go along with that for too long.

I for one was shocked when I see how he was in the Diary Room. I prefered that Raph though for sure. If he brings that one into the house as well then he could go far. Not ao sure if he keeps hiding at the back, nodding and smiling.

Raph is just applying a bit of real life interaction rather in your face, course, aggressive BB style. Its how normal humans interact. Can you imagine meeting someone in the street and mouthing off at people the way this bunch do? They wouldn't last 2 minutes without being decked

Well, that's the interesting part for me, I am very curious to see what happens and if he can keep the public onside and whether or not he'll change tact as time goes on.

With all due respect I get what you're saying but walking down the street and the Big Brother house are completely different things.

As bad as some of them have been I can't imagine them being like that in the real world. They just wouldn't have survived as long as they have otherwise and some of them are actually really succesful so it's not a great comparison really.

So you want all the HMs to behave the same way? Why? that's boring.

In fairness, no I didn't say that, I suggested there was a range of ways to handle that and be interesting. Not just sitting there looking all damp getting splinters.

I do think Raph is playing a game, a clever game and is managing to be a nice person with it. That to me makes an interesting HM to watch. the loud, argumentative for the sake of it, foul mouthed ones who have to have an opinion on everything are the HMs i dislike but each to their own

I get that everyone has their own defintion of interesting, but I have always thought that there are two types of gameplayers in that house... Those that play the game WITH the public (Victor) and those that play the public (Aaron). Raph, to me, is looking like the latter.

It could win it for him, it has worked in the past, but it is a sly and slimy way to play the game in my eyes. I honestly haven't found a single thing he has said or done on his own merits interesting.

Well Aaron won and Victor didn't so

I don't mind game players like Aaron, infact i prefer them tbh, I think most non casual fans will see that they're playing a game of sorts and appreciate that as fans of BB. With Raph I think he is playing a game but he's also genuinely that type of person, naturally polite and respectful. You can be and do both, playing a game when you're in a game is not sneaky imo. I don't think he's being fake either, again i think you can play a game by being sensible with stuff but still be who you are

Oh, for sure, like I say, it'll probably serve him well. I tend to think of HMs in terms of how they entertain me though, not just if they win or not, and the sly fence sitter that plays the public has never been a type of HM that I enjoy.

Yeah, couldn't stand Aaaron and his passive aggressive mood swings and the way he played the public, right up to a rigging of the result. I don't even consider him a legit winner, personally.

These are just not the type of HM I personally enjoy. But... It's all stuff to talk about and debate, so all good I think.

Oooh.............i've somehow ended up in the ''Let's bash Raph'' thread!

He's just biding his time and cautiously feeling his way through the early days. He's playing an intelligent game instead of just arseing his way around in there. He realizes he's vulnerable at the moment so he's treading lightly but every episode he's coming more into his own.

He's a great bloke. He's one of my few actual (friend's list) friends in here and, being the anti-social loner i am, means he clearly makes an effort with people.
I'll be supporting him as long as he's in there for sure. :clap1:

Honestly, I love the gameplaying aspect of Big Brother and would love to say that Raph was playing it perfectly, but I think he's coming across as his real self so far. Infact I'm actually really surprised at how accurate the edit has been of him, because I'd always thought with no live feed they could just create whatever character they wanted out of any/all housemate(s). (and I had a feeling after his VT and them putting him on the spot about his past cheating that they were going to try to portray him as a villainous housemate)

If anything, if he is playing any sort of game, I'd say it's in the diary room. He is coming across very hyperactive in there. That may just be down to him being excited to be in the DR (as well as the experience of nominating), but yeah.
