okay so *MY* main beef with Alex is that she's That Girl who is petty and openly brags about how she doesn't get along with other women and she's a guy's gal or whatever the ****. She has also said that her strategy is to LOSE so she can get invited back and win her second season like her favorite HG Nicole Franzel. She's arguably the one drinking the most Kool-Aid and has said about 20 times that you have to assume that everyone is lying in this game EXCEPT FOR PAUL because "he can't lie to her because his brand is Friendship and if he lied then he would lose all his fans, so that means he's telling the truth and the whole truth to me." She's also pretty stupid and is always yelling over Jason and interrupting him and hitting him whenever he starts to talk game and just tells him to SHUT UP and LISTEN TO ME even though he's usually making more sense than she is.

And I'm not convinced at all that these people will start turning on each other. It's LITERALLY going to be the same ****, with Paul picking his targets two weeks ahead of time and getting everyone to ostracize them. Kevin's jumped up on that pecking order today. Matt literally celebrated because now once Cody leaves Paul won't be nominated until at least the final five. Nobody is playing the game. This is Redemption Island all over again.

I actually find the gameplay often quite unpleasant on BB, it's made too personal, I'm surprised it's lasted this long really. Survivor is more fun and more about the game than the kind of pettiness you see on this show.

Raven gastroparesis update: she was afraid of touching a rat trap (yes, there is a loose rat in the house somewhere) because it would ZAP her and turn her pacemaker off. She also reminded us that if her iPhone goes on her stomach it'll turn her pacemaker off. A metal detector would also turn her pacemaker off. Thunderstorms are fine though as long as she doesn't get zapped. Her mom's been struck by lightning though! Without a pacemaker though, but she has a scar from it.

Yeah, I mean Paul is Good at the game in the sense that he's persistent as **** and relentless in trying to get what he wants (which would certainly be a flaw if anyone else was playing the game), but a lot of the reason he's doing well is entirely out of circumstance. Immune from the Day 1 eviction and actually put in a position of power where everyone is groveling at his feet, then he gets to whip out three weeks of safety when Cody tried to nominate him which basically created the "don't even try to mess with me, you'd be wasting your energy." Like sure, his game is impressive in that he's the only one playing it, but it'd be hard to mess up when you get dealt a hand like this.

I don't really buy into the 'playing with idiots' thing, you have to work with the card that's dealt to you and if that means the cast aren't that great at Big Brother then so be it. I definitely think there's an argument to be made for the person in control of said 'idiots' to be partly responsible for their idiocy too. I mean, you don't have to be the sharpest tool in the shed to realise that a veteran shouldn't be kept in the game this long...and yet somehow - even by his own admission in a DR in the recap episode - he has managed to avoid the block? Even Derrick didn't have the target that comes with being a returning player. Talking of Dan, actually, if Paul somehow manages to win this season (and I'm sadly not convinced it's written in the stars) he will have done what Dan did but in reverse - and I definitely think there's something to be said for that. Has he been handed some advantages? Of course, this is BBUS, but you can't spend two months avoiding the block without some semblance of a social game. He has that in abundance, it was his jury management that cost him last season.

I get people don't like Paul but sometimes you've gotta swallow your pride and concede that someone played a good game whether you enjoyed it or not. I couldn't stand Andy but I think his ability to ride the middle undetected makes him probably one of the most deserving winners this decade? Same with Maggie, couldn't care less about her but she absolutely deserved to win.

And although the 3 weeks safety helped Paul, it's totally a fair part of the game at this point with care packages and voting twists being a part of every season. Jessica actually got the best advantage and she got nowhere with it. You still need to play the game well. Not to mention I really don't think Paul was going anywhere regardless of the safety. He almost definitely wasn't going to get evicted week 1 anyway even if he didn't have it. :shrug:
