I wonder how it will work. The press release there will be "3 local versions" with the U.S. being one of them. Is it different players from different countries in the same house?

FIRST of all, Channel 4 have revealed that All4 had 6 MILLION requests for The Circle over the past 3 weeks - and Netflix have bought the rights to reproduce the series in 3 different international locations, including the USA. They couldn’t go ahead and do that but cancel it in the UK

I was proper gobsmacked when Kate won the player ratings! Everybody 100% gave out three 0’s to everybody except Dan giving Kate the win on a plate :laugh2:

Alex thoroughly deserves to win both prizes too, best catfish by FAR and serving up some of the most iconic RTV moments ever when he met all the other players omg
Freddie was ****ing annoying at the start but I actually grew to love him, Sian and his friendship is iconic already

Also can we talk about how amazing the studio, catwalk, apartment block etc all was for the final :shocked: Channel 4 put a lot into this and it definitely paid off. Maya and Alice were amazing too, if they have a series 2 I definitely think they should have a weekly ‘Love Island aftersun’ type episode with them 2 in the studio and all the blocked players

Hands down this was the best tv show of 2018!

Now BB is leaving our screens this needs to take over and it has the potential to be bigger than Love Island its such a good concept.

This series deserved massive ratings but like Love Islands relaunch that didn't do that great either but ITV2 stuck with it and look where its at now, Lets hope Channel 4 have the same faith in the show.

The Precious/Sian feud was ICONIC

I thought that was the weakest moment of the series, very cliche and so felt a bit fake. The last 2 contestants were put in so late they were just throwaway really.


The best moment of the finale was the meet of the final four, meeting each other gradually and sorting things out among themselves, no need for any go-between. Both Sian and Dan thinking Kate was Freddie at first lol.

Best winner, best cast, best editing, best story flow... the best.

One thing that was surprising is how many people didn't watch it from the start, I did, the concept sounded interesting.

They seem obsessed now in just targeting particular age ranges as well, surely a program can be more long lasting if you think outside limited views. Look what CH5 did to Big Brother trying to cheapen it to a younger audience. Isn't there something arrogant dumbing things down anyway, thinking different age groups are bound to watch totally different things.

Six million cumulative views across 18 episodes means that each episode was watched about 330k times on all4. I don't know how much better or worse that it than the average number of viewers most shows get on all4?

It might be almost too easy, there'd be a big queue of gullible people to fill several series. Though conversely some will play even harder too, it depends how mainstream the broadcaster is how far they will go.

An interview with Dan probably soon after while it still felt particularly bad for him. The grave tone of the interviewer sounds slightly ridiculous to me. His tone has changed a lot in the last few days and he even apologised for his reaction at the final.

Channel 4 seem so proud of this show its obviously been a hit online and Netflix picking it up for America is massive.

They are obviously going to renew it and I can see it doing a Love Island getting bigger ratings each series.

Now BB is dead its the perfect replacement.

Unfortunately it was largely a US style recap episode instead of having much that was new, that doesn't work here as it isn't a casual channel hopping audience, plus it only lasted 3 weeks anyway. Someone elsewhere described it as an episode for people who hadn't watched it, containing little for those who already had.

The ratings were the only uncovered bit. Freddie on Instagram said he gave Kate more than a 1 as she came near the bottom last time, I think he thought it was a safe vote so he would look a bit less stingy. But with the other low ratings Kate was actually more competitive here than he expected and it cost him.

If they had put more in from the start maybe they could have extended the run more. There's definitely more they could do with the tasks and the news interaction seemed quite glib. Overall the cast and the experimental nature of the first series carried this but a second series could do more.

I thought Precious was quite generic, typical late addition to stir things. Aiden was quite funny and I would rank her higher. Ryan was pretty good car crash tv really, definitely not bottom for me, and I'd put Genelle lower.

I'm not really into the instagram stuff, there's something a bit too narcissistic about it.

Alex has had a few meetups with Dan, and he does seem generally popular and open with others, he wants to do videos with Sian. The whole final 4 seem to mention each other a bit.

Genelle largely puts up pictures of her baby, so reflecting the show.

Hannah definitely got to be friends with Aiden. Aiden also got on well with Alex.

Mitchell seems a bit dull to me, seemed to get on with Harry. Dan and Alex said they were impressed by his messaging on the show as it seemed very smooth and rapid.

Sinead went up to visit Ryan, and they made fun of Freddie saying Ryan got a wake up call in the uncovered program. Before she left London she was out and about with Hannah.

Mairead seems to be interacting with quite a few of them, in contrast to Precious who seems more in her own particular world.

Sian is obviously close to Freddie, recently been pictured with Scotty.

Scotty's posing is quite annoying, he thinks he is so cool.

Jennifer doesn't seem to have social media.

To be fair most of the drama was put in for Sian, Precious was obviously put in to conflict, Mairead likely as well if you look how she entered. And the producers wanted some showmance with Scotty or Harry. I liked her friendship with Freddie though, that was really the best part with her I thought.
