For the first time in over ten years, I've finally gotten back into creative writing, it feels so good to finally getting around to it, as I've missed this outlet for a long time!

Thank you, I did have a previous cover, but it didn't fit the tone right, or... look all that good :laugh: (The artwork is nice enough, but the cover didn't feel punchy enough lol)

My last 'attempt' was basically me writing from my childhood to my teen years, I used to have a folder full of different stories I wrote and all that stuff, but then one day I just stopped. I did try writing a new one quite recently but I didn't like how it developed so I stopped shortly after I began
With this one, it feels as if I had a thousand ideas already, and I have put in work to behind the scenes stuff, such as world building details that aren't quite revealed yet, I also have the ending of this specific 'book' already in mind, with ideas of what the second might be about.
With this story I'm slowly going to reveal more about the world as time goes on, with several key characters in different locations, each with their own objectives and agenda. Also, I don't really plan to have any big romance elements as romantic writing isn't really my strong suit :laugh:
I am thinking about moving away from Wattpad after someone who reads my stuff told me the site forces you to join after a certain point, and interrupts with big ads like this

Im not sure I agree with that gesture though, because to me, it sounds defeatist. And one that could be used against a person if the book does that well that money must be paid to the author.

Hmm,
There is Roisin Luna, who is the main protagonist, she's a new student at Wynd Academy, she has great potential and intends to unlock it, though she can be quick to lose her temper
The main villian is named Lumina, she attacks with pure crystals of light, which can bend anyone to her will, the will of light.
The story is still in its early days, so while I do have ideas of the characters and their directions, I don't want to give too much away :D

Yeah, with Rory, I felt there was a need for an actual violent villian, all the others so far are schemers, whereas Rory isn't afraid to cut anyone down to get what he wants. He's gonna be very interesting as time goes by!
I'm going to slowly add more allies at time goes on, with Logan being a second year, he's sometimes going to be seperate from the main group, so he will come across more of his own year as time passes by

With the 18th Chapter out, Wynd Academy has come to an end, but I've post the prologue for the next story in the series: The Luna Legacy! (https://www.inkitt.com/stories/fantasy/452844?utm_source=shared_web)

With this book, I plan to take a little more time with the characters, since they're no longer facing a apocalyptic threat. I also plan to dive into Roisin and her brother's history a little more this time too. (and no, her brother is not forgotten :p)

Thank you! Indeed, Rory has fallen completely to his primal rage now, no longer trying to fit into society, all he cares about now is his vengeance.
The Airship battle was really enjoyable to write, as it introduced a whole new group into the story, while being really important to the continuing story :D
Glad you liked the cover, I tried a few different types of cover, but decided to go with a similar style, I really like it too! I plan to continue the story almost right away, so there will be no real wait :D

Indeed! That's what inspired me when writing Celes' powers, she could be a very deadly weapon to the enemies of the city
My original plan in the first story was for him to basically have Rory's place as a villian, but I felt there was enough people who were bent to Lumina's will already, and it'd be interesting if someone actually resisted her :D

Haha, maybe! Though with the size of the dragon that flew over Rivenlake, they're more likely to be Wyvern eggs :laugh:

...I loved the chapter title btw, the white rose of her beautiful dress on the night she died...so Amanda ordered the deaths of Roisin’s parents...but she spared Atlas, no attempt was made to take his life and yet they were enemies...and she must have known that in leaving him alive, he would be seeking revenge...it was obviously a mixture of emotions in that chapter because of the brutal deaths of Ruth and Darenth...but i also enjoyed the layer of depth at knowing Roisin’s back story of how she lost her parents, and we felt more, the closeness of her relationship with her uncle...

Indeed, I felt this chapter was a good time to expand on Atlas' story, while telling more of Roisin's past too, there's definitely more to tell about what happened after that night

..I think it needed that to introduce us to the characters and to give us the time to bond with them, for me that’s really important in a read...the parts that were more story driven, beautifully created their world as well and were very fast paced...I loved it..:lovedup:...I loved the bonds and friendship between Roisin, Dex, Ashe and Ariel...I loved that Roisin was briefly reunited with Ruby...and I feel that Rory has found his light side a little more at the end...it was a lovely read, Scarlett ...and an exciting read in many parts...thank you so much for sharing...:love:..

...oh I started Pyre Academy last night, Scarlett... I think I read 4 chapters but I’ll have to check...I’m loving how the books and stories blend and how the reader slips into the next one so easily...and I can feel already how much I’m going to enjoy the read...:love:..

...The characters../..the story are becoming quite three dimensional now...I was with Syl and Seb in the forest when they were escaping the giant spider, it was quite terrifying...and I really did find myself racing t9 the end of the chapter to get them out of there as quickly as possible and away from that giant beast...:laugh:...I love though, how you added a bit of humour to the end with Seb giggling...:laugh:...

...yeah, I can imagine how difficult it is to kill off a character like Dex because he’s such a key character to the friendship group and to Roisin in particular...it also obviously means that changes to her character have to be made as well..?...so that’s a really brave decision for you to have made...I do think though, Scarlett...that you did it really well because Roisin obviously has a huge discovery to make of herself/her powers/and the crystals, anyway...so you’ve now left that open with less restrictions for her, you’ve left her oath very free..?...when we watch great TV series that have sustained their popularity..?...one of the things we’ve liked about them is that they haven’t been afraid to give us that ‘shock’ and kill off key character swiftly and suddenly...as Dex was killed...it leaves open for more character development, I think....and it’s a very brave decision...I may have felt sad but I think you’ve done the right thing, tbh...

Indeed, Roisin's character does change as a result of both the loss of Dex, and because of what Skylar did. Memories of Ice isn't as bombastic as Pyre, but it focuses more on the characters

We were one of the first companies to collapse (Shearings) so it was back in May, the hotels have been bought though and are 100% reopening in October, just keeping my fingers crossed that the staff are offered their old positions

...OH..MY...GOODNESS....I guess that Bryan deserved his fate in becoming Lumina’s puppet...Roisin, though...Will she absorb the ice crystal and if she does, what will it do to her...she’s already finding it difficult to control the rage of her fire, how ‘fallen’ could she become in having absorbed both crystals...she could become monstrous..?...Anya’s backstory was a bit heartbreaking..:sad:...really well thought out...another great read, Scarlett...I love the stories, each one is packed with so much adventure and so many twists and turns...thank you...:love:...

...yeah I did notice that with the chorus chapters, I just connected them to being chorus at the time...:laugh:..I think I was so engrossed in the actual story as you built it in the end, I overlooked how cleverly you had done that...doh, I’m so unappreciative but it really is clever...strangely as well, one of the last English things I was doing at school was short/long sentences and chapters etc to build up suspense/emotion etc...I’m so dumb...:laugh:..

...yeah I did notice that with the chorus chapters, I just connected them to being chorus at the time...:laugh:..I think I was so engrossed in the actual story as you built it in the end, I overlooked how cleverly you had done that...doh, I’m so unappreciative but it really is clever...strangely as well, one of the last English things I was doing at school was short/long sentences and chapters etc to build up suspense/emotion etc...I’m so dumb...:laugh:..
I wanted to have shorter flashback chapters to fill in where Lumina was in 'Memories of Ice' and then, to explain more about the fall of Utopia before the ending, so they fit in well :D
That said, I didn't wanna make them stick out too much :)

...yeah I was thinking that as well...will her ravaged/repaired body be able to cope with the power of the crystals because they would drain her even at her most healthy...it feels quite doubtful atm...:sad:..

On the sixth 'book', the first and third are shorter than the rest, but the others arent too long
....wow, this is really getting quite dark with the back stories...so from Roisin and Keegan’s birth, Rychard Pyre was implicated...and if only the nurse was killed, how was Keegan’s disappearance covered up/explained...?...‘the descendants of the moon‘...so what powers will Keegan have as a descendant and how will those powers be used...totally separated in personality also..?..

...I don’t know, do we think this could be Amanda showing genuine remorse, could she possibly be changed or is it just a fleeting moment of self pity...?...I liked that chapter, showing all of their varying thoughts through the storm...some thoughts ‘still raging and storming inside’ as well...it also mirrors the real storms that some have had recently as well, Scarlett..so it’s a perfectly thought out chapter..:love:..isn’t it funny how...(...as you mentioned in there..)...some of us can be freaked out by 8 tiny little spider legs scuttling about...and yet we're fascinated and mesmerised by the universe raging in its dangerous glory in a storm....

I requested a transfer to another area in work today, I decided I didnt wanna go into serving in a restaraunt again and will be doing housekeeping, this will leave me with a good amount of free time to write :D I couldn't handle doing split shifts again

So, I had a bit of a nervous breakdown... I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow at 4:10pm so hopefully can be diagnosed and get some support. I'm gonna go back to writing more often, it seems to help a lot :)

It's something that has been building for a long time and has finally come to a head, I hope the doc will be able to help.

....awwww, Scarlett...:hug:...it’s a huge, huge thing to start a new job and be so uncertain because there is so much that you’re uncertain of and unsteady about ...and you’re work colleagues aren’t familiar yet....at any time, it’s such a nervous and anxious time for any of us..?....but with your confidence probably at one of its lowest times because of your redundancy and your emotions have probably been so conflicted and confused as well, with such ranges of shock and anger, plus a sense of loss as well...but this hasn’t been just ‘anytime’ ...there’s been COVID as well, which has been the most scary time ...but you’ve felt the safety of your home around you ...so now, going back to work and a working environment again...is jus a huge step...
...you’ve recognised your crisis, which not everyone does, but you have...?...and you’re taking steps to control that crisis by going to see the GP, which is the best thing and will help you take those steps forward from here, which would be so difficult for anyone, they truly would..:hug:...and you know I’m always here if you need someone to be here...:hug:...

I talked with the doctor, and they've prescribed me some medication and given me a sick note for Universal Credit, I told them how writing helps me calm down and they said to continue doing it :)

...just take your time, yeah...you’ll take each step when you’re ready and feel emotionally steady enough, having small goals is good as well...this is your body’s way of telling you it needs to take a slower pace ...your redundancy was forced on you and was a time filled with anxiety and worry...now it’s the thing to take some time for you, without those worries and anxieties...:hug:..

....oooo, the Gravity Crystal, that’s a really interesting power..1 can’t wait to see the full forces of all of the crystals when they come together...obviously, Roisin has two ‘allied’ crystal powers, but the others will be opponents...Treleva is such a manipulative and evil presence, I really don’t like him at all and that he has influence over any crystal power....
