The Final. The Task.

Finalists. Congratulations on making it so far. Please read the following carefully.

For the final you must firstly assemble a team comprising yourself and up to 3 other forum members to help you. It would be helpful if you get someone who can design a banner. You must name your team creatively. Please post this name and your team members in the thread.

As a team, you must select one category of goods e.g. menswear, ladieswear, jewellery, etc. Then you need to work together to make a mini-catalogue of products, they can be actual products you find on-line, you don't need to design your own don't worry.

Once you've done this, and the quicker the better as you'll then have more time for the rest of the task, you need to launch your teams very own shopping channel. Start a thread in Chat and Games with the name of your catalogue included in the title.*

During this task you must confer and share the workload of promoting your chosen goods in this thread as well as actively posting in the designated catalogue thread. You must inform forum members that they can place orders in your thread, and have the following restrictions to adhere to.

1 Your budget for purchasing the goods that you are going to sell on in your catalogue is a whopping £50k. For the purposes of this task all sales count as 100% profit and his budget doesn't get deducted from your sales obviously, or you'd be bankrupt**

2 Any one forum member can only make up to 15 purchases throughout the duration of the task.

3 Forum members may buy from just one team, or both if they wish.

4 Forum members can spend up to a maximum of £1,000 PER TEAM during the task. You are responsible for ensuring forum members know the rules.

5 You must work together to keep a ledger detailing all sales and indicating which sales person made the sale. You are allowed to post "adverts" on peoples walls inviting them to watch your shopping channel. Don't ask Arista. Lol.*

6 You may if you wish allocate each team member some time slots to promote the goods. This is optional.

My feedback

Enthusiasm. Jake and Nicky both had this in spades. It was heartwarming to see.

Energy. Again both stepped up and it was a long and arduous task.

Leadership. Jake excelled. Delegated well. Nicky a little weaker but developed in confidence as the task progressed. He blossomed under Annie's tutelage.

Professionalism. Both did marvellously.

Salesmanship of team. Annie and Cherie were marvellous in their customer service skills.

Enterprise and Ingenuity. Nicky excelled with the choices of product particularly the christmas trees. Jake was amazing with his package deals and last minute 3 for one idea.

Profit. Nicky profited most. Both teams worked their socks off to get what they did. Impressive all round.

I'll be summing up and giving full feedback tomorrow, so for tonight I just want to address you both quickly.

Very well done. It's not easy to play a game that requires so much effort and coordination on timings, deadlines etc, but you've both been enthusiastic throughout. Every contestant that entered did their best, and both of you made it to the finals, so congratulations on that point alone. Sometimes just playing these games requires endurance, so Jake, with a young family and as a participant in other games, absolutely amazing job. And Nicky, with your internet being limited to days only, and also playing other games, you've also done amazingly well.

I'd have no problem with either of you winning, and that's also a credit to you both. Unfortunately, the game doesn't work that way, so I'll see you back here tomorrow, when one of you will be hired.

however, i feel like i have learned a lot as for leadership, i started out with no confidence in myself, but i've grown a lot, and i've done really well in the tasks

why i deserve to win, i feel like i've given my 110% in every task whenever i could be available to play

Lord and Lady Shugarr

I would like to start my plea by saying what a wonderful experience this has been. It has challenged every aspect of my business qualities.

I feel on every single task I have delivered.

In the John Lewis task you both loved it, the only critique I was given was the grandma clicking her fingers. That was an easy fix

In the Soap Supergroup Charity Concert task I feel I excelled in. I dont want to sound big headed but I stepped up to the mark in that task I volunteered to be the project manager and I feel I allowed my team to show what they have to offer. Some times it was challenging I admit but I feel I pushed the team to deliver and we were left with a really good end to the task

In the mascot task I was able to create my mascot and I put my heart into it. I hope this is developed as I think young kids learning to swim especially when they have disabilities is important

In the PR task I feel I showed Natalie Cassidy to be a national treasure. Yes Lord Shugarr I could have put more humour in to it but with a 500 word limit I didnt want to fill most of those words with pointless jokes I wanted to show Natalie in the best possible light

In the interview I was honest and poured my heart out and explained why this process was so important to me

The last task of the catalogue and shopping channel was the hardest task of all. Unfortunately I didnt make as many sales as team unique. But overall I think the idea was strong. It was displayed beautifully. I kept the shopping channel running throughout with Cherie. Kazanne was an amazing help when it came to the banner and catalogue front page and I felt I was able to display my sales skills and business ownership skills


So we come on to this moment in time. I wanted to remind you of my ability in this process. I find it uncomfortable to show off and talk about myself in a positive light but I feel I must.

I hope I have shown why I deserve to win, how I have being consistent throughout. How determined I am in the business world and how hard working I am.

This opportunity will change my life and my familys life. I rarely win at life but I think it is time that changed

I love Nicky he has been so great at this he has excelled and I wish him the best

But I feel I am your perfect candidate.

Jake and Nicky, for the past 13 weeks you've been battliing it out to decide which of you would become my apprentice. You've beaten off (:smug:) all the other competition to secure your place in the final, so what I need to decide now, is, has the cream risen to the top or is it just bleedin' sour milk?

You were both tasked with recruiting a team and creating a pop up business, to sell the products you wanted to the forum to purchase from you, in order to create the most revenue possible.

Jake, I liked your team name and your banner was easily my favourite out of the two, but what the bloody 'ell was that turquoise writing about? At my bloody age I can barely see white on black, never mind bloody sea green on white.

yes Lord sugar. He organised us well, had a clear vision for what he wanted us to do, and motivated us throughout.

So this collection of experiences you chose; I've had a look at em and there are a couple I would have purchased. The big cats and the sharks for definite, but I'd pay 300 quid to never have to see little mix ever again. I have to question these experiences in the light of covid and how practical they are. I think you over complicated it unnecessarily.


Nicky - I liked your team name and your reasoning behind it. Your banner was simple, and although perhaps a bit too simple, the colours were christmassy and perfectly in line with that you wanted and what you were trying to do.

Annie, how was Nicky as PM?

Jake, I think it's fair to say you've been the most consistently high performing candidate throughout the process. Even the other candidates identified you as such in the questions round. I wasn't really a fan of your Sonya round, but other than that you've been pretty faultless. The first to hit deadlines and just enthusiastic throughout. Watching you reveal and share personal details about yourself has helped us get to know who you are, and not just the candidate, so thank you.



Nicky, you started off slowly, but every task has seen you grow and display more and more confidence. The numbers you've put up in this final round are really outstanding. Although it's not for me to say, I think Annie has earned your 10pts the next time ML comes around. The first round was your worst round, and that in itself shows that you've been learning and
enjoying what you've been doing, and it's been fun to watch your contributions in the threads always thinking of ways you can improve. Never lose that.

I'm really struggling here. You both made mistakes in that final round, for example there was way too much money left unspent from the people that bought from you. You should have been creating packages to spend that money and taking it to them, not waiting to see if they came back in to buy more.

I'm really struggling with finding a way to pick a winner that is fair and a reflection of the work you've both put in. We have 2 deserving winners who both deserve it for different reasons, which makes those reasons really difficult to compare. Do we reward consistency, or do we reward an unbelievable victory in the final round?

There are a couple of things we could have done differently as judges that will mean this situation will never arise again, and we've learned from that, but for this game and how it played out, we decided the only fair thing we could do was to reward Jake who has been the best player throughout, and Nicky, for pulling in that absolutely sensational final round.
