Bookies have Dixie & Bianca as the faves to be evicted. Both have been in Danger Zone all week.

An insider at Network Ten has informed us that the hopes of a Big Brother Australia Series 9 are currently looking very slim.

Information is being held close to the chests of those in the know, but we can tell you that Channel Ten and ESS are in ongoing discussions on how - and indeed if - the Big Brother franchise can be saved.

Both sides are suggesting major overhauls to the format if it is to see the light of day next year including a new behind-the-scenes team and possibly a new timeslot (yay!).

A decision is expected to be made in the near future. We’ll keep you updated.

Several reliable sources have confirmed that another celebrity will be entering the Big Brother Australia house, this time in the form of Tara Reid.

Tara Reid was touring Australia earlier in the year making paid appearances and we suspect her visit to the Big Brother Australia house will follow a similar cash transaction scenario.

Reid should enter towards the end of the series. She is rumoured to be in Australia to take part in Network Seven’s Dancing With The Stars - which would cut out any blatant cross promotion.

Ried’s entrance would mark the third celebrity to enter the Big Brother 2008 house, fifth you count the cameo by the two So You Think You Can Dance judges… who didn’t really enter the house but you know what we mean.

He won the chance to change evictions, which he will find out more about on Sunday. He also won a flight on "BB Airways" with three housemates of his choice. He chose Rory, Ben & Bianca.

Well, Nobbi’s certainly had an interesting week hasn’t he? Over the course of a few days, he seems to have gone from producer favourite to target practice. It all started Sunday night…

Sunday, Day 35: Nobbi vs. Terri

As a large group of HMs chatted in and around the Kombi van, a drunken Nobbi made a joke about Terri, saying she “rubs herself in the toilet”. Terri took great offence at this, which Nobbi failed to understand. Even the jovial Terrence was put off by Nobbi’s remarks, but Nobbi said that Terri’s age meant nothing and he treats her as he would any other housemate.

Nobbi’s point of view was essentially that as Terri had previously been open in talking about her sex life and sex-related topics, a joke like this was completely harmless. He also thought her offence was a sign that she was trying to act differently in front of the new arrivals. He expressed this point of view repeatedly by shouting at Terri.

Terri found the joke disgusting and out of line, and did not think it was the same as other sex topics they had all discussed in the house. She was offended that he made a joke like that in front of everyone. She eventually walked away as Nobbi continued shouting at her.

Later, the two resumed the argument away from the group. Nobbi said that it was a joke and everybody knew that. Terri disagreed; she didn’t see it as a joke and didn’t think some of the others had, for example Terrence. They also disagreed about how offensive it was to make a joke about masturbation.

Throughout the argument, Nobbi continued to put down Terri’s view, saying it was a joke and she has “no common sense at all” if she thinks otherwise. At no point did he seem to understand or acknowledge that she could be offended by what he said, despite her repeatedly telling him so. “Terri, I have said so many things, that are so much more offensive to you…. it’s not offensive, because I was joking.”

The incident received no coverage on TV, except briefly during Terri’s nominations as she gave one point to Nobbi. When questioned about this on his blog, Mike Goldman said the producer opinion was that it was “just Nobbi being a smart arse and not much of a fight”. Or maybe producers didn’t want to hurt Nobbi’s reputation as one of the more liked characters in the house? We won’t use the words ‘cover up’, but– oh wait, we just did.

Thursday, Day 39: Nobbi vs. Alice & Travis

In a group spa session, Travis is asked which HM he dislikes the most. His eventual response is Alice, because he had been told by others that she had expressed a strong dislike for him. Alice is surprised and wants to know who told Nobbi that (it was essentially the boy’s club - Nobbi, Rory, and Ben). What follows throughout the night is a series of events that essentially exposes Nobbi and the other boys as liars and manipulators, with Alice and Travis completely turning against them. Friday, Day 40: The audience reaction

These events were the dominant storyline on Friday’s Daily Show, and, more interestingly, continued on Friday Night Live as the hosts attacked the actions of the boys. Bree said “no redemption”, and Fitzy called him a “rat.” It didn’t stop there - whenever Nobbi was mentioned throughout the night, and especially when he won, the audience booed, certainly a first for the kiddie-friendly FNL. It’s doubtful they would have done that of their own accord - suggesting BB producers have decided that there’s no point trying to hold up Nobbi’s reputation and are now pushing him as the bad guy. We’re not trying to imply that it isn’t deserved - there are few that could approve of Nobbi’s actions throughout the week. It’s just interesting to see how things have unravelled over the past 24 hours.

Our guess is that the character assassination of Nobbi will continue on Sunday’s programming. We hear the boys (Nobbi/Rory/Ben) were given a stern talking to in the Diary Room today, and were called up on their bullying behaviour. Look to see how events are edited and presented in the Daily Show on Sunday, and then again if it’s brought up by the hosts during the Eviction. If Nobbi is nominated next week, eviction is almost a certainty - and it’s doubtful his eviction show would see a ‘celebration of his time in the house’ to say the least.

I do agree for Terri in the way that he could get over it and all the stuff which happened earlier.
But the boys found in Travis, a way to go further by making him confused hence last night argument: they knew that if Travis was in conflict with any of the girls, they will nominate him therefore the 3 boys will be safe. But I do not deny they somehow did it for fun because they think he's a weirdo (and because they must be bored lol) However, I think their plan didn't work since I guess Travis is still crying and the girls are here for him.
I also think that drama like this was expectable because with a personality type as Travis, that was obvious the boys would have been picking him at some point.

I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of the eviction. I love Brigitte and Terri (I like Brig more than Terri though), and I like Bianca, so that left Renee. I didn't dislike Renee at all, but since I'm a fan of the three others who were up against her, I wanted to see her go. But Bianca looks like she's going pretty soon, which I'm pretty unhappy about.

Hopefully the bullying from the Kombi Guys has done enough to make the others in the house nominate them. Then Australia can go ahead and vote them out. But Nobbi's HOH power scares me. This is just speculation, but what if he does get nominated, but he's able to save himself from getting evicted because he's HOH? That would suck.

Haha, I only ask because last time I tried to search for betting sites, and when I found one (lasseters), there were no odds there, which I found odd. :shrug:

But now after searching for australian better sites again, lasseters had the bets uploaded. Along with lasseters, I checked centrebet and sportingbet, which both had betting odds on Big Brother.

I must say that I hate the odds for the winner. Travis is on top. I mean, he's okay to me, but I don't want to see him win. And in all three sites, he's followed by Ben and Rory. Yuck. I hate that Nobbi is the only one that went down on the betting odds after the bullying of Trav, and not the other two. I thought it was a weird task when they first revealed it, especially since it's coming after such a great task ("Ignore the Obvious"). But as it started to progress, there were some hilarious moments. Like when Terri was cutting Brig's hair:

Get Nobbi out! I knew I wouldn't like him since the beginning! People find his gibberish talk towards Terrence funny, but I just find it mean. And he really should stop teasing Brigitte about Cherry. I would pissed if I were in her position also. It's not fun being teased about someone you know you don't have any interest in, at all.

Tonight's show really brought Nobbi's insecurities out into the open. His whole Big Brother world is crashing down and I for one am damn happy about it. He deserves everything that's coming to him.. especially the boos which I'm hoping he'll receive when he's finally Evicted.

I keep changing my mind about Brigitte. Like, tonight, she was mostly entertaining and I enjoyed her on my TV screen, but at times I thought she was going a bit over the top. I must say though, I enjoy her little protests.

I think it's just the way he goes about making the drama. I'm all for drama and I agree that it's a breath of fresh air in BBAU, but I don't agree with the way he's going about it. I don't want boring nice people, but I also don't want people who have absolutely no heart whatsoever. Nobbi is an extreme, and an extreme which I simply don't want on my TV screen.

And I've never seen him be "funny" in the whole 40-odd days the show has been on.

I also feel that when he's gone, we'll be able to see some of the other HMs shine a bit more. It's sorta turned into The Nobbi Show for me, and as I said I just don't want him on my TV screen.

I feel Nobbi to be a very weak person, actually. Character-wise he's strong, but he has SO many insecurities about everything. And he definitely is heartless, he said it himself. I feel his time is up, to be honest. He's been making conflict for half the series now. It's got to the point where I and a lot of people are simply sick of the all the stupid things that he does. He'll definitely be up and gone next week, which is a breath of fresh air for the series and hopefully a lot of the other people can shine.

I like this task, much better then I thought it would be. The hair styling bit is rubbish, but the discussion are very amusing. I loved the one between Brigitta and Terri.

Two things about this series have stood for me. 1) Big Mouth. I love this show and it has made this good series even better. I love the hosts, and the panelists. Chrissie, Tim & Nathan are all very funny. I'm glad BB04's Paul has not come back. I hope they do one show after the finale, but I don think they will. 2) Hand grenades. It's a brilliant and original idea that I would love to come across to the UK. It means the evictee always has a presence in the house. Terri and Saxon's hand grenades are still alive in the house today.

I'm curious to where the prize is. I dont think it will be a big shock prize. We already know it's at least $60,000. I hope for the final this year they have at least four finalsists. It would make the final a lot better IMO and it might mean they get rid of those stupid plays and performances by exams.

I hope Nobbi, Rory & Ben do not win FNL tomorrow. Please! If they do, they will save Nobbi for another week!! Arrgh.

I'm quite surprised about the thinking behind this task. For once it seems the task designers are actually thinking about things that can cause some sort of conflict. The hairdressing side is simply a cosmetic thing, which is what I love. Nothing can beat last weeks task though.. that was fantastic.

I agree with your two stand-out points. It's a shame Big Mouth doesn't rate, it's absolutely great. The Hand Grenades are so ingenious.. something I would have expected from the UK people to do. Hopefully they do knick the idea, it'd be great to see what they can do with it.

I immediately loved Bianca, she was a very different type of housemate. Even if she acted like a cow towards Corey. She has something really attractive in her.

About the tasks, this year's ones are the best of all the series of BB AU: that's one of the best thing about it, the task designers are the best. Much better than the UK ones.

I don't like Big Mouth that much, I hope it was more interactive and a bit deeper but it's not that bad. And the Hand Grenades are just perfect and what we needed this series: it brought drama, action and funny moments.

But I still don't see the point of FNL, I wish they axed it, it doesn't mean anything anymore.
I think BB08 is one of the best series IMO, the 2nd after BB05 (which remains the best obviously). We got rid of most of the bores, we don't have controversy which used to give bad views about the show in the papers and TV, Gretel and her politically correct is gone (thank God), now we have 3 great hosts (Mike is considered as one I guess) who make a great job.
I find the dynamic of the show different and enjoyable to watch and I don't have any plan to stop watching like I did in BB06 and BB07 between week 5 and 12.

Usually in the past, I have liked the so-called bullies because they brought entertainment. Sure, they're mean, but their constant whining and fights I thought were entertaining. For example, I liked Charley last year.

But I don't find Nobbi entertaining at all. He's just a manipulator, and he just tries to manipulate others into doing things he wants to see (case and point: the Truth or Dare fiasco). And sometimes his constant complaining just gets on my nerves, like when Terri came back into the house. I can understand that he's mad, but he just came saying, "That's low man! C'mon! She can't come back, Big Brother even said so!"

But anyway, this is my first full season of BBAU (I watched last season's final episodes, but that's it), so I wasn't really expecting anything. But I love it. I find it so entertaining. The hand grenades are awesome, I agree, though they have affected my favorite housemate twice now. But that doesn't matter, since her tantrums after receiving them were kind of fun to watch.

And I'm loving the love for Bianca. I really didn't think that many people liked her, but it's great to see that pretty much everyone in here does.

Oh, and I don't know about the "3 great hosts" thing, Captain. I really have not liked Kyle ever since his words towards Nathan. I'll be glad if Mike replaces him. And Jackie is okay, I guess.

I actually have a soft spot for this year's producers. I feel a bit sorry for them.

I think we shouldn't blame them because this year we have had a good series so far. I expected this since BB08 because BB06 and 07 were disasters. But it would have been better if they got rid of FNL and stayed with the 'Australia nominates, you evict' format.

I think they got scared about the format change and what ideas they should put in it to save the show.
They brought a good cast with some diversity (thanks God), the new format was great and a new dynamic introduced with the handgrenades.

Exactly. This series has been good so far, I don't understand why people don't watch it. Generally I do never care about ratings because for example we all know no matter how are the ratings, BBUK will air until 2010. But I'm more worried about BB AUS since no contract has been signed until a certain date.

There were a few rumors earlier on that said that BBAUS had a chance of not coming back next year because of the low ratings, but now I'm reading that after the producers have talked with Ten, the chances look good for a season airing next year.

And ugh, dang it. My worst nightmare came true. Maybe he can get the 4th highest amount of votes, so when he saves someone, he's automatically in the bottom 3. It happened to Rebecca.

Brigitte and Cherry both received a strike today from Big Brother for discussion of Nominations. They were both trying to figure out how to get rid of Nobbi! Haha. Good on 'em.

What I find funny though is, Nobbi's upset about it. I thought he liked conflict? Also, he's a bit of a hypocrite since he's always talking about people, but the second he gets talked about he has a big sook.

Personally I think people don't like Nobbi and the 2 others because they used to watch boring and nice people so I guess it's kinda of a shock for them but so far BB promised us a different and good cast and that's what we have.
Whatever you like him or not, Nobbi is intelligent even if sometimes his plans screwed but he's not a bad person.
I also think he was the right person to be put in the Kombi Van: imagine if Alice was in it, it would have been boring.

I actually love people who aren't boring and cause some fights here and there. On another board I post on, I'm often the person who has an opposite opinion from everyone else because I'm the one who likes the loudmouth, and other people hate the loudmouth. :bigsmile:

But this time around, I really do not like the Kombi Guys. Like I've said before, I just find them cruel. Even if they are interesting, I want them out of the house because of the actions they have done towards the others. They've been mean, and they've been bullies. And personally, I don't find Ben interesting at all. The only things I can remember from him are his rant about Brigitte getting some items back and the fight at the dinner table where he said he wouldn't hang out with an old lady or a brick layer in the real world. And the latter I only remember because of Dixie, when she called him out.

It definitely has something to do with the big Prize Money announcement tonight. I'm well excited, I hope I'm not disappointed with the twist thing.

I'm expecting the odds to change. We still have half the season to go. And also, I checked another betting site, and Terri is actually #3 on that site, only behind Travis and Ben. :cheer2: I would love it if Terri made it 'til the end.

I just watched FNL, and I actually really enjoyed it. It made me laugh a couple of times. I was disappointed though when Brigitte didn't make the final because I would have loved to see her reaction to the food. :laugh:

Wow, I was honestly shocked at the result. It's the best choice by far, though. Even the bookies got it wrong - they were sure it was either Cherry or Terrence. I'm very happy, though. Cherry and Terrence add so much to the house - Rhianna did nothing but have sex with Rory. Although, I did feel sorry for her when she was crying on stage. I'm such a sucker for tears.

The Prize Money Treasure Hunt is a great idea! I'm really impressed with it. I never thought BBAU would ever do something that's pretty new and interesting. Though, once again, the housemates ruin the fun and simply say "Oh, okay." and continue on with the rest of their lives. They really are a crappy bunch of people. So bloody fake, the lot of 'em.

1. Over on the official forums on the BBAU website, Brigitte fans come together and announce they will target one person to get evicted. Last week it was Renee. This week it was Rhianna. I doubt that a forum coming together is what changed people's minds to vote for Rhianna, but it's pretty weird.
2. Dixie wanted Renee to win, and she was out the next week. Then Renee said she wanted Rhianna to win, and then she was evicted next. :laugh:
