So the weekend shows all down on last week after a weeks of increases
I'm not surprised that last nights show was lower than last weeks but im guessing C4+1 would have added a lot to the figure

I know every one must be fed up with hearing it but i still say that the stopping of live feed has a lot to do with the fall in ratings. I for one watched it a lot and don`t think i would have gotten so hooked if we`d only had high light shows in previous years.f

Yep, all the time. Its usually about 700,000 lower than the weekdays.

Bad times! But oh well its nothing special, just replaying the eviction.
Where do you get all the ratings info from?

Channel 4 Overnights and Inside BB.

Ahh right ok cool, solves that mystery!
The last few days have been really boring bet the ratings go up a bit tonight with Craig and Dean + BB3 Hm's

Bloody hell, this thread is boring!!!

Man 1: ''Tuesday night, 2 million, I see.''

Man 2: ''Aye, right enough. Not as much as Monday though.''

Man 3: ''Yeah true, but you gotta take nominations into account.''

Man 1: ''Fair point. Of course, it'll be good tonight. I think Lisa's shaving her armpits''.

Man 4: ''Nah, that was last Sunday. Just one and a half million then''

Man 3: ''Really, that can't be right, honestly? One and a half'?''

Man 1: ''Yeah, he's right.''

Me: ''Show me your penis!"

Man 1: ''One and a hal....... Eh? Did you just say 'penis'?:laugh2:

Good for last nights show
I'd expect this week to rate higher again this week with the extra advertising of the birthday week. I'm expecting above 2million for all highlight shows if advertised all week

I haven't been watching C4 much, but the times I have this Birthday week has been advertised a lot.
Its getting more promotion on C4 than in the run up to launch from what I have seen

2.6m for last night!! Highest rating since Sophia's eviction (1st show).
Looks like the adverts are working! Its 500,000 up on last weeks Tuesday show, and 400,000 up on the previous highest Tuesday show of 2.2m.

Its starting to look much better this week, maybe we could be pushing on for 3million for Friday
Strong competition tonight which could dent it but again im expecting it to be up on last week

*mazedsalv**

Yeah the competition is strong tonight but Who do you think you are? is more attracted to the older audience i think, so it wont be too bad.

Here's the official ratings just released for the week that Sree went. 2.6m for both of the shows on Friday is very good.

Monday 29th June: 1.7m
Tuesday 30th June: 2.2m
Wednesday 1st July: 2.4m
Thursday 2nd July: 2.1m
Friday 3rd July, 9pm: 2.6m
Friday 3rd July, 10:35pm: 2.6m
Saturday 4th July: 1.8m
Sunday 5th July: 2.3m

Week 4 average: 2.2m

Week 4 which spanned Sat 27th July-Fri 3rd July averaged exactly the same audience as the previous week (Week 3)

Shame more people didn`t watch last nights HL show it was best one in ages, think tonights will be higher due to shock task and new housemates going in, also the 2nd show is on for an extra half hour tonight from 10-35 until 11-35.

With quite good ratings this week, the bad weather and new housemates tonight im expecting the highest Friday numbers of the series so far.
I think tonight and the weekend press about the new housemates will be a pivotal moment in the series ratings

2.7million and 2.8million for last nights shows and thats without +1

*mazedsalv**
18-07-2009, 11:05 AM
That great without +1, it will be about 2.9m and 2.9m again when +1 comes in, the officials will bring them to about 3.1m or even 3.2m.

I know, Hopefully Channel 4 have taken note of that and in BB11 Will bring back the 24 hour coverage..

And hopefully the Newspapers will bother to make BB Front page again, thats like the most advertisen it gets seeing as C4 Didnt bother there arse advertising this year

LordHalfwit
18-07-2009, 11:29 AM
I think this season's public voting's been really good (for a change) and that's probably down to less casual viewers and less sensationalist media reporting..

If lower viewers = better show, then I'll take it!

*mazedsalv**
18-07-2009, 11:30 AM
I do think that the advertising for the eviction is the reason why it got higher ratings (and people going in), see its not hard, all C4 need to do is advertise, have it on newspapers at bring LF back, and then it would constantly get over 3m.

The advertising was shown all the time for last night, I dont think the new HMs were teh complete fact why it got higher ratings, in the past few years, when people go in, only about 200,000 is added from normal, but last nights was about 500-700,000 higher than the normal average (and thats excluding +1)

Brad*
18-07-2009, 12:32 PM
We say that ratings around 3m are good now, but if last night took place three years ago, the ratings would have been doubled. Anyway, the two shows last night were fantastic, this series is really shaping up to be amazing!

What complete bollocks.

It is BB Fault and its because they cut the LF They even said that themselfs, fans love Big Brother its still popular its only because of the no live feed thats why the newspapers arent even reporting on it.

In BB11 You`ll see the diffrence when they get 24hr coverage

You claim to have not seen the figures for a few weeks. Doesn't mean it's true what you said.

You could have easily read the past few pages back to see how the rating's going. Or more likely read the ratings for the last few weeks day by day anyways.

It is good Tom, it was getting 1.8-2.1m constantly up until last week (celebration week), so to get over 3m for a Friday show that finished at 11:35pm is very impressive, it was the most watched show since launch and it won its slot, Jonathan Ross scored 2.4m.

Week averages so far:
Week 1- 2.6m
Week 2- 2.1m
Week 3- 1.9m
Week 4- 2.0m
Week 5- 2.1m
Week 6- 2.3m

Its been increasing for the last 4 weeks.

Lol, I haven't twisted anything.

It's all on record. 2 days ago you said "Can't believe they're still not above 3m." So you'd obviously seen the ratings.

Then today you said: "So these are good figures? Sorry not been here for a few weeks or really followed this so I have no idea."

So you lied because today you said you had no idea, but you clearly did have an idea as shown by your comment 2 days ago.

Not trying to wind him up boss.

I'm just pointing out some discrepancies in what he's posted!

I'll leave this matter behind now as we are going to sort it out via msn (if he actually comes online!).

Like I said, when am ready. I don't go on MSN in the day noone is ever on so if you're that bothered (and i'm certainly not about what you think of me) then you can wait.

You're going on my ignore now anyway, goodbye :xyxwave:

A very interesting development here, having had the misfortune to have met this con artist and carpetbagger a few years ago all I can add it that it’s about time he was found out for what a degenerate and despicable low life he really is.

Well done for exposing him

people who vote kenny or marcus or anyone for that matter over hira, their the ones who are killing the ratings and the show.
ratings have gone up this week, why is that?
its certainly not to see hira because she hasnt done a single thing and never will as long as she's in there.
they tuned in to watch kenny and bea locking horns, marcus, tom and noirin triangle, you know actual story lines which we can follow, but o no people are gonna break them storylines up by getting rid of kenny and keeping the invisable mannaquin in.

Yes, this series is improving marginally.

But...

The ratings overall fall well short of the desired 3.0m mark set by Channel 4 executives and that means changes for BB11 for better or more likely for worse given the massive decline since BB7.

Spike

Saturday - 1.6million
Sunday - 2.3million

Not bad over the weekend
I'm expecting this weeks ratings to be down on last because of no twist or new housemates, and with a big character probably going on Friday which will probably take away the whole Noiron storyline which is carrying the show at the moment, something needs to be done or this series is going to go down hill rapidly in terms on entertainment value and therefore ratings

That's not the whole story. There's much disagreement behind the scenes between C4 and Endemol (the production company) over how this series has been run and the ratings are still well under the 3million mark that C4 execs wanted. There is a possibility that they will agree to part ways at the end of this series.

Any BB run is made or broken in the first few weeks, and the bullying issue, perceived or real put alot of viewers off. Also it has taken about 6 weeks to get anywhere close to interesting. It doesn't help that it has actually been an interesting summer for news, as the tabloid lifeblood of the show, normally nothing interesting happens in the summer and the so called silly season comes into play with BB filling the gap in column inches needed to fill these papers has not been there this year. MJs death, MP expenses.

On a seperate note, still missing the pseudo psychoanalyasis Sunday show!!!

I cant put the Inside BB link becaus eit never works, but go onto Inside Big Brother Site and click on Ratings and those are all the overnight ratings, the officials will add about 300,000 more to it.
If you want to see the official ratings so far, under the overnight ratings table, look on the right hand side and there is the list from BB1-BB9 series averages, click on BB10 and it will show you the officials so far.

By looking at the ratings (officials) Karly's eviction and the 5 going in were the only 2 shows which broke the 3m mark other than the launch and the 1st HL show.

Predictions for the rest of the week (predictions are with +1)

Tonight- 2.4m
Wednesday- 2.3m
Thursday- 2.3m
Friday(1)- 2.8m
Friday(2)- 2.6m

The reason the Fridays are predicted high is because 2 big characters are up, and whoever goes will get quite a few more people watching imo. I mean Noirin's intervie wgot 2.6m (the 2nd highest Friday interview behind Karly's 3m) so if Noirin could reach 2.6m, Marcus and Freddie could break 3m.

Even Hira's interview got 2.5m! And she was new and dull (but a nice girl).

Here are the Week 8 official ratings that were released today:

Monday 27th July: 2.3m
Tuesday 28th July: 2.7m
Wednesday 29th July: 2.5m
Thursday 30th July: 2.7m
Friday 31st July, 9pm: 2.9m (
Friday 31st July, 10:35pm: 2.9m (Noirin eviction interview)
Saturday 1st August: 2.1m
Sunday 2nd August: 2.3m

Week 8 average= 2.6m (The highest week average since Week 1)

WEEKLY AVERAGES BY EACH WEEK:
Week 1- 2.9m
Week 2- 2.4m
Week 3- 2.2m
Week 4- 2.2m
Week 5- 2.3m
Week 6- 2.5m (Birthday week)
Week 7- 2.5m
Week 8- 2.6m

It is very clerar that Birthday week gave BB10 a boost, Week 8 (the week that Noirin was evicted) was the highest week since Week 1, normally mid series ratings drop, but ratings are going up!

2nd show- 2.0m (without the 10 mins extra it would be 2.4m)

Only 2 million for Freddie’s eviction!!! That’s horrendous!

I knew this would happen. Without live feed, the viewers can’t connect with the housemates making the whole eviction process pointless.

A disaster. Endemol must be very worried right now because Channel 4 have effectively killed their show.

Only 2 million!!!!!!! That’s shite!!!

The ratings went down becuz people dont like how BB engineered it so that Freddie & Marcus went up! So a lot of people have stopped watching it now.

Noirins last week in the house had the Highest average ratings for any week except the first week, The weekly average has been falling ever since. Her eviction night audience was the second highest this year , The highest was karly but her main opponent that night was Noirin which means her fans were watchng to see if she would go that night .The weekly average will be down this week for sure with bad ratings on an eviction night usually the best viewing night of the week

I stopped watching once i knew Marcus/Freddie were up and havn't watched since.

I hope the ratings drop below 1 million in time for the final. For me and thousands of others were appalled that 2 big characters were up. There was even a video on BBBM saying the big characters always get voted out and we are left with the dullards. Too little too late! BB have screwed up big time.

Oh your talking about officials, Week 9 officials will be out on Wednesday and that could be 2.6m as well (Its going to be either 2.5m or 2.6m) If its 2.6m than no audience was lost.

I think Week 9 will average 2.6m just like Week 8.
Week 10 will average about 2.5m officially.

Fridays eviction show (especially the 2nd episode) will be given a huge boost by the officials. First of all, officials will not add the 10 mins extra, without the early finish, the 2nd show averaged 2.4m. Then add the +1 to that, will bring it to about 2.6m and then add the 200-300,000 that the officials normally add, and Freddie's interview will end up getting 2.8m/2.9m in the officials.

In the officials I think Fridays eviction ratings will be this:
1st show- 2.7m
2nd show- 2.8m

The show has never finished that early before, and the 10 mins early finish lost 400,000, so the eviction really averaged 2.4m without +1, not 2, and the officials will take that into account.

Friday(1)- 2.5m
Friday(2)- 2.2m (add on 400,000 from the 10 min early finish), should be 2.6m.
Saturday- 1.8m (2nd highest Saturday rating).

How much has it fallen since the Dermot Days

Brad.

i think BBLB usually gets about 400,000 now. it used to get 500,000 - 600,000 but it has dropped this year I think

Im sure this year it has gotten alot less, I heard that shows were in the 200,000 range.

BBBM performed well on Friday when Freddie was evicted, I think before it was getting 400,000 but Friday got over 600,000 for E4 which is very good considering it was from 11:10pm until around 12:20am.

Finally the ratings have been released:
Last night got 2.51M. In line with all the other Tuesday episodes, down on last weeks Tuesday which got 2.55m though.

Official ratings for Week 9 have been released also:

Monday 3rd August: 2.4m
Tuesday 4th August: 2.6m
Wednesday 5th August: 2.5m
Thursday 6th August: 2.4m
Friday 7th August, 9pm: 2.9m
Friday 7th August, 10:35pm: 2.8m (Hira's eviction interview)
Saturday 8th August: 1.8m
Sunday 9th August: 2.6m

Weekly average- 2.5m, down on Week 8 average of 2.6m but 2.5m is higher than most weeks. YAY!

OFFICIAL WEEK AVERAGES OF EVERY WEEK:

Week 1- 2.9m
Week 2- 2.4m
Week 3- 2.2m
Week 4- 2.2m
Week 5- 2.3m
Week 6- 2.5m
Week 7- 2.5m
Week 8- 2.6m (Highest since Week 1)
Week 9- 2.5m

Looks very stable for me, gaining viewers rather than losing them.

Brad.

Looking from the weekly averages there are some positives to this series' ratings, its been consistant while gaining viewers. Still this series in terms of ratings has been a flop

It might get a fairly good +1 rating but I think they're heading for lowest audience ever, probably 1.4m or 1.5m. Usually Saturday highlights do quite well when a big character has been evicted the night before so it might surprise us. They could've done with pushing it back to 9.30 though

But 1 of the football matches include teams from other countries like last weeks match which got awful rating of about 1.5m, so we dont have to worry about that. We have to worry about the Arsenal one though.

It will be a disastrous week for BB i feel.

Tom
22-08-2009, 03:32 PM
Arsenal match finishes at 10 so that one should hold up well with +1 and the one on Friday is the Super Cup which noone really cares about atm plus its an eviction. Won't be the best of weeks but I don't think it will be a disaster, everything will still be above 2m (maybe apart from tomorrow)

Spike
22-08-2009, 05:00 PM
I don't think the football will dent the show that bad.
The UEFA Super Cup (Friday) never rates well even when an English team is in it, so it wont clash with Big Brother's audience much if at all.
The Arsenal match may cause a slight problem but with Champions League qualifiers never rating that well either, it not being that big of a match and C4+1 it shouldn't dent Big Brother too much
However Sunday will be down, I don't get why C4 are showing a film which they have shown many times before in a slot which will effect other shows.

But at least C4 have scheduled the finale nicely, its not as bad as last years. Not clashing with EE will mean the first show surely wont do that bad and the second show starting at 10 could draw a few extra viewers who are finding something to watch at that time. I expect a peak of 4million for that second show

*mazedsalv**
22-08-2009, 05:47 PM
The annoying thing is that the 9pm is the slot that BB does much better in, but all the 9pm shows this week are up against strong competition and matches, and then all the 10pm do worse. So with both 10pm shows doing badly and 9pm competition, BB is in trouble.

Or we can look at the bright side, maybe the XF will give BB a boost, most people are out on Saturday nights, but XF is on, and millions of people will stay home and watch it, so if those people that watch XF dont go out clubbing when its finished, they could possibly tune into BB as BB starts 30 mins after XF finishes.

1.7m for BB last night.
Friday shows still not released for some reason.

Im happy about 1.7m because:
1. Its a Saturday, 1.7m is an average Saturday rating.
2. Up against Michael Macintire which got 4.6m
3. Up against Xtra Factor which got 1.3m on ITV2
4. Up against The Cube that got 5.5m on ITV2 after XF lead in.

Didnt damage the BB ratings at all.

the 2.1m is because it finished 8 mins early, reported the 2nd show actually got 2.5m if not counting the finish.

Also they dont include +1.

Imo, when the officials come in, both Freddie's and Bea's interviews will add a huge number to the rating

I think XF auditions next week could lose quite a lot of viewers imo. I've never seen such negative feedback. On all the forums, X factor forums, DS forums, Yahoo, XF website, around 90% of the comments are very negative over the new format. XF could be in trouble, especially during auditions, it will pick up during Live Shows obviously.

I like XF and everything but Im annoyed about Simon Cowell slagging BB off, how would he like it if XF loses so much viewers in 1 week?

We could see an XF decline like we have seen with BB.

Yeah maybe. SOR will probably get around 2.4m because of being advertised, BB will get around that imo.
Im just quite excited to see the officials of Week 10 because Freddie's eviction will be high. Stuipid early finishes ruin everything.

But how come 40D is being really weird these last few weeks, some HL shows of the week are missing.
