@Kate I would say go ahead and see your son and you can stay a little distance away but still have a chat etc. I've seen loads of people doing it in the streets and neighbours/friends. If you go somewhere where there are minimal people there's literally no problem at all. Oh and don't worry you won't get a fine
If anyone tried to stop you (which is VERY unlikely anyway) then just say you're out for a walk.
