This shows that the majority of them were arrested for obstruction not violence, I have never and would never condone violence but I can't help but feel it's slightly more acceptable when it conveys a strong positive message of strength against those seeking to oppress others....
The suffragettes have been in the news a lot recently, what would have happened if they had not acted in such a dramatic and passionate fashion?

Probably wouldn't have been much difference, women's contribution to the war effort was the main reason behind them being awarded the vote, could even be argued that the suffragettes violence harmed & discredited their cause more than helped it
