Ah Chuff come on, people don't campaign to change things if everything is just fine and no one is upset, that makes no sense at all. Maybe where you lived was the exception to the rule but you've just heard here from a black person an account of what his father went through and someone else posted a link about how black people still were expected to stand up for a white person on buses in the 50's so clearly it was very much an issue, one that you didn't see obviously
