I haven't been to uni, but I know many people who have.

It's hard work. A lot of studying and effort involved (although I'm sure you know that already), so if you're thinking of getting a job, make sure it's only part-time or else you will be too tired and won't have time for socializing and studying.

Just because everyone goes out and parties all the time doesn't mean you have to. Of course everyone does because they initially want to fit in, but you'll find other people who don't and enjoy doing other things besides drinking.

The food situation...you will probably find yourself buying/making the easy and cheap stuff. Like noodles, pasta, soup etc.
