So I had that scenario covered anyway  .
However...
1) They don't do "women and children first" any more,
2) Passenger ships aren't allowed to sail unless they have adequate lifeboat space for everyone on board
... so neither of these situations shall ever come to pass. |
But yes, ridiculous that in this day and age anyone would be left without a space
