Me and 8-year-old were watching Titanic (she's become obsessed with it ) and she was like "Oh nooo daddy we'd have to get on a boat and leave you behind"...

...and I was like "Nah, they let Cal on when he pretends some random kid is his and he's her only carer, so your mum and sister would get on a boat, and we would wait a few minutes, then run up and I'd be like "I HAVE A CHILD! I HAVE A CHILD!" and we would get on too, and we would all pretend not to know each other until we got to dry land."

So I had that scenario covered anyway .

However...

1) They don't do "women and children first" any more,
2) Passenger ships aren't allowed to sail unless they have adequate lifeboat space for everyone on board

... so neither of these situations shall ever come to pass.
