if you believe that somehow something apart from oblivion happens then you need to say why you think that (ie what information that you have read etc has led you to believe this)
Interestingly I went with my mum to put flowers on my dads grave (next door to my grandparents stone who died young in the 70s) and the dog was going mad sniffing around the grave -either she could smell my dad or it was just a dead thing she could smell.
The outlook for most of us from a Christian point of view is pretty bad:
Therefore, after death, a person resides in a “temporary” heaven or hell. After this temporary realm, at the final resurrection, a person’s eternal destiny will not change. The precise “location” of that eternal destiny is what changes. Believers will ultimately be granted entrance into the new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Unbelievers will ultimately be sent to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people—based entirely on whether or not they had trusted Jesus Christ alone for salvation (Matthew 25:46; John 3:36).

Dont forget there was 13 billion years of oblivion before you were born...
