Hands off my Brick!
|
I've listed the main ones...........Poll to follow :
Action Stories whose central struggle plays out mainly through a clash of physical forces. Spoiler: Adventure Stories whose central struggle plays out mainly through encounters with new "worlds." Spoiler: Comedy Stories whose central struggle causes hilarious results. Spoiler: Coming-of-Age Drama Stories whose central struggle is about the hero finding his or her place in the world. Spoiler: Crime Stories whose central struggle is about catching a criminal. Spoiler: Detective Story/Courtroom Film Stories whose central struggle is to find out what really happened and thus to expose the truth. Spoiler: Epic/Myth Stories whose central struggle plays out in the midst of a clash of great forces or in the sweep of great historical change. Spoiler: Fantasy Stories which are animated, or whose central struggle plays out in two worlds - the "real" world and an imaginary world. Spoiler: Gangstar Stories whose central struggle is between a criminal and society. A cautionary tale, rooted in a main character who commits crimes (This genre is often blended with Film Noir). Spoiler: Horror Stories whose central struggle focuses on escaping from and eventually defeating a Monster (either human or non-human). Spoiler: Love/Romance Stories whose central struggle is between two people who each want to win or keep the love of the other. Spoiler: Science Fiction Stories whose central struggle is generated from the technology and tools of a scientifically imaginable world. Spoiler: Social Drama Stories whose central struggle is between a Champion and a problem or injustice in society. Usually the Champion has a personal stake in the outcome of the struggle. Spoiler: Thriller Stories whose central struggle pits an innocent hero against a lethal enemy who is out to kill him or her. Spoiler: I think Thriller for me.

I've chosen coming of age drama, as my favourite film of all time, The Breakfast Club, falls within this genre. Although I also really like the comedy and thriller categories too.

I'd feel odd picking anything but comedy. At the end of the day comedies are what I'm taking to the desert island.

Umm probably between action and comedy, those are normally my favourite movies and the ones I can watch again and again, although I do like gangster films and epics as well when I can be bothered to sit there and watch it all

the 2 categories I'd be least likely to pick are horrow, don't give them the time of day, and instinctively probably Sci-Fi, but then again if that includes Star Wars films and stuff like Avatar, which was completely amazing, I'd have to rethink.

Gangster films are always the best but I voted for Crime before I saw that, thought they'd both be the same. Thriller, Action and Comedy aswell.
Will watch pretty much any genre though if the films supposed to be good |

I don't really have a favourite genre. I like all genres apart from Gangster films, I can't stand them at all.
