I rang it once years ago when I lived with my mum and dad and I came home early to find the house being burgled. The burglar was still upstairs but heard me come in and legged it. I rang and it took the police 3 hours to come.

Yup. Once when my grandmas house was on fire
Once when my mothers partner was trying to kill her. Took the police about half an hour to get there..luckily I had a knife to HIS throat by that point. Unusually, they never questioned me officially on that, but that may have been because they could clearly see that my mother had been badly beaten. |

No, he doesnt remember it at all. Well. He remembers the guy throwing his vodka bottle across the room but thats because I locked him (and my sister) in their rooms pretty much immediately then went back downstairs :/

Yep, a few times. I've rung them a couple of times for fires breaking out in houses/building near me. I've rung them once when sheep had escaped a field and where all on the railway track and I've one dialled 999 by accident on my phone when it was on my pocket. The only reason I noticed is because they rung me back to ask if everything was okay.

Many times, In the main for an ambulance.
I did for my Grandmother when she collapsed while I was out with her. Also for ambulances for a good friend who was severely brain damaged in a car accident years ago, he often had seizures that required urgent hospital attention so 999 was the way to get him there as near immediately as possible. We lost him though a couple of months back. Have also called 999 for the Police and fire service too for others. Last edited by joeysteele; 10-06-2013 at 10:58 AM. |

I learned a great deal from him though as to realising the little problems that turn up in my life were nothing compared to all he went through and still he tried his best to carry on and give a smile too. |

Yes I had to ring them when I was 15 because one of my brothers and his friend were attacked, my brother had been stabbed and one of his lungs was punctured but he was trying his best to hide it from me and just trying to help his friend who had been hit on the head with some sort of shovel, I only noticed the state my brother was in when he turned round and his shirt was drenched with blood thats when I ran to phone 999, thankfully they were really fast to respond though, the police, cid, and ambulances were there within what felt like seconds.
