Default Do you prefer this years series or last years?

I think this year has been an improvement. Still way too many flaws, unnecessary outside interference and nomination meddling but it’s been a better series than last year’s dire Jenry show.

..........................a draw! while it's good to have BB back i feel that my experience is somewhat watered down by dull HM's carefully chosen
to limit any offence to viewers sensitivities

I think this year is better but the production meddling and obvious promotion severely drags it down. Last year didn't feel as bad in that regard.

The perfect mix for me would be Jordans gang and Ali’s gang .. minus Lily .. and a few harmless floaters

I said last year.
I am finding this lot a bit boring if I am honest, apart from the ruddy obnoxious screaming from Lily and BP

Depends on the metric. Last year had a more likable cast but this year's is a better production. If the show gets renewed I hope Head of House stays.

If Head of House stays I'd like it to be more structured, so each HoH gets the same amount of power, rather than what we have now.

Agreed. Hopefully the constant tweaks are with a view to settling on an implementation for future series.

This years defo.

Although people saying it’s predictable Lily will win, remember so many said that last year about Yinrun and she only ended up 4th. Don’t forget people have only 5 votes by app now, so it’s not always as predictable as we think.

This years. It feels like they're beginning to sway back to basics more so than last BB/CBB. I like the heightened drama we've been getting.

I wish it wouldn't be cast to be the "least offensive" (sign of the times) and I'd prefer less editing of the main shows. I also want nominations to go back to basics and what they were. The head of house garb isn't doing it for me. If they want to go the North American route then rebrand the show "Survivor 2.0" and go that direction.

I'd also like to hear producer voices again rather than the Barney "I love you, you love me" voice we have now.

Last year’s launch wasn't the same as it was prerecorded. At least we got a live one this year. For me, Jenkin seemed ok on launch night but I got bored with him rapidly. Tom and Matty didn't do much for me either. Then I got disappointed with Chanelle. Farida was more interesting. Obviously that's my personal point of view but I'm enjoying this series much more.

I’m preferring this series and it does feel more old-school. I think this is a more interesting and authentic group of housemates, whereas too many last year to me seemed to be playing up to certain roles, so I didn’t find them so genuine. Although I have preferences, I’m not finding anyone totally unlikeable this year.

One of my biggest wishes is for the Live Feed to go back to how it used to be, without all the unnecessary censorship. It used to be great for revealing the full characteristics of the housemates and the true dynamics within the house. I still have vivid memories of drama unfolding on LF, and unfiltered housemates saying exactly what they wanted to, exactly how they wanted to! And I’ll never forget staying up half the night watching the conflict unfold between Pete Burns, Michael Barrymore, George Galloway and Jodie Marsh in Series 4 of the Celebrity series!! (RIP Pete Burns - how I miss your caustic comments and wit!)

Surely, they could choose to allow the action to play out with a slight delay and with a warning in place about possibly offensive content? And, surely, we are all adult enough to decide for ourselves whether, with that warning in place, we choose to watch? Everything is far too censored these days, when we are all fully aware of the prejudices and offensive behaviour of people in the real world? We don’t live a sheltered existence, after all.

…although I’m liking this season more than last year…it still feels a bit on speed dating vibe in that I’d like to have longer to get to know the housemates as we did back in the day because they really do display a ‘journey’ through the house/with the group…I think with the HL shows, we’re very restricted and limited on what we see of them and get to see aspects of their characters but I do feel that it is only aspects and those aspects are obviously determined by BB at what ‘role’ that person will ‘play’ in the house…anyway, even though I was thinking that having Halloween in the house each year in it screening at this autumn time…?…allows for some pretty dramatic events and evils and shock factors…I prefer the slow easy summers of it all evolving more slowly…those summer days and nights…/…all off topic, probably…but yeah…this year is a good year…(..I think, still more Channel 5 than Channel 4……)..

Last year was a bit of a slow burn but it got really good from around this point. We had:

- Kerry's coffin eviction after Noky and Trish's secret task
- Dylan's blow up on Trish just after
- Paul doubling down on being a wanker
- The Paul/Dylan double eviction
- Jenkin and co being left raging after
- Chanelle being evicted when she should have been immune but broke the rule
- Jenkin/Tom being vile in the bedsit with Jordan then those two being evicted in a shock double
- Matty's shock eviction

It was so bloody good! It felt a lot more intense last year, everyone's actually pretty chill in there this series and I don't think we're going to see anything new from them. I agree with Smudgie that this lot are a bit dull
