and then there's jade richards from last year didn't get through when she was clearly the best, because she wasn't some stick thin, fake tanned, wannabe. and didn't get through this year, i dont even think her bootcamp audition was shown.

the judges always say you sing good and YOU LOOK GOOD (why is looking good a factor in a singing contest?)

if it is not a singing contest then why do they have to sing at the audition to get through? why do they have to sing at bootcamp to get through? why do they have to sing at judges houses to get through? why do the have to sing on the live show every week? that sounds like a singing contest to me.

It's called The X-Factor which to me suggests they're looking for someone with a package, a decent voice, a decent look and charisma

theory doesn't hold water, this years contestants aren't the best looking bunch, James Arthur, Lucy, Kye, none of them are 'media defined goodlooking', but they do all have some modicum of talent, therefore looks are irrelevant, and I find if you like a person for who they are, you find them appealing anyway

The most goodlooking people can completely leave me cold, because they are horrors inside. Prime example...Chezza Cole.

his job is to stand there look pretty and mabye say the od ah or oo baby
their songs will be written by songwriters, they will be told how to dance by choreographers, they will be told what to where by their stylists, they're just the puppets, to earn people like simon cowell money, it's called manufactured music, it's not honest and it dosn't come from the heart.

I did see them live in person a few weeks ago and the boys were amazing. They are actually brilliant live singers. Some of their music has been co-written by influential singers such as Ed Sheeran (Known for music about drugs and personal rejection) and they have been more involved in the writing process on their current album. They are manufactured with their image but who in the pop music world isn't?

One Direction was awful on The X Factor, I still can't believe how the teenage girls forced them into 3rd place while the rest of us was begging for them to get off our screens.

Good luck to them anyway, just as long as I don't have to endure them.
