I see that she has many fans in this forum and I'd like to know why?
Not trying to insult anyone for having their favourites but in the show she looks so bitter and miserable with her lips pursed so tightly and all she does is bitch. It was fine a few days ago but recently she's become even worse, all I see is plain hatred. She's not even a fun bitch. I do like her views on other HMs but I think she is just as bad although in a different way. For the record, my favourite is Chris who is spot on with his opinions yet doesn't let it deter him from having fun in the house. |

As for why I like/enjoy her... Most of what she's doing doesn't come out of pure spite or nastiness imo. I just think she is genuinely disgusted by Helen and the lads and the way they speak, the language they use and the way they sometimes treat people. Remember that these are people who spoke on national television in the first week, with their parents probably watching, about fingerblasting women. And this is the stuff that is broadcastable. I believe the Star when it says that it is much much worse than that, and I think it's probably the major contributing factor to Ashleigh not wanting to be anywhere near these people at certain times. What person of any class would? And though I do think Toya was ridiculously over the top when she went on her rant, the men were pathetic with the abuse they threw back at her. I think we all recognize this is not a pleasant group of people this year and that some of them are utterly ruthless. Ashleigh has a craftiness and saviness about her which has been fun to watch emerge the last few days. And for an 18 year old she doesn't seem at all intimidated by some of the others who have it in them to be utterly vicious (e.g. Helen towards Matthew). I largely agree with all her views on Helen and the lads. But also on Kimberly as well. She seems to like Chris and Christopher who I would pick as the two nicest housemates and gets on with Matthew, who I'd put up there after them. I don't really see how you can say she's just as bad as others, especially Helen. Ashleigh seems to be reacting to something that is actually there (and because of the editing issues not shown to its full extent) and the worst she gets is just going off with Danielle and venting. As for her being moody and miserable. I was moody when I was 18 and being in that house would have made me even more miserable. Last edited by Yaki da; 03-07-2014 at 07:14 AM. |

Like most, I'd imagine, I really didn't notice Ashleigh for the first few weeks, but lately she has really come on as a character. Yes she b*tches, but who is she b*tching about? Helen. Has she said anything about Helen that isn't true and that isn't reflected in the majority of opinions of the viewers? Ash. The only times we see Ash voice an opinion its a fairly nasty one. His comments about Jale have been pretty bad. The maggot comment was to her face, but the comment about her not leaving water in the pool after a dive was as low as it gets. And Ash picked Ashleigh out as the one person he couldn't stand to be around in the house. Steven and Kim. Has she said anything that most viewers agree with? That Kim is fairly cold and seems to move between the groups as she likes. That the whole "relationship" is about as fake as you can get. Ashleigh is a smart cookie. Its true that her delivery isn't great. But she is tuned in and on the money.

I like Ashleigh, i think she's had to put up with a lot of crap in her past, i don't know what's happened, but it seems that Helen is a reminder of the vileness she's had to put up with, i think that's why she dislikes her so much.
Not everyone is comfortable with sex talk, and she's taken herself away from it because she doesn't like it, so again fair do's to her. Yes she's bitched about others but the biggest bitch is Helen, she's proved that she doesn't want to crawl up Helen's arse so again, good on her. She seems to speak honestly and doesn't make judgements like Helen does, she listens to what others say and speaks her mind, she says about the other housemates what she sees with her eyes and hears with her own ears, she's doesn't go off hearsay. I hope people can see that she's a nice girl, and lets face it she's seen through the fakeness that is Kimberley and Steven, that's why he didn't stand up for her. |

how i'm feeling now

I think her character and role in the house is developing greatly. It's nice that someone besides Helen is stirring things up for once, but in a more sly and amusing way.

I would just add that her response to Kimberly/Helen/Marlon choosing her as the most whatever it was, was rather impressive. You could see Christopher looking very uncomfortable about the fact she was being chosen again and again and with all eyes on her she delivered a couple of very funny lines which led to one of those great jaws hitting the floor moments from the housemates.
And the way she played the whole nomination process made for good viewing. She's emerged as someone who is pretty, clever, feisty, savvy and strong minded. |

Great posts from everyone. You have said it all, really. I have little to add except that I love her morals and stance regarding her relationship with her boyfriend. She stated she had one from the beginning and doesn't join in with anything that might bother him. Her thoughtfulness and loyalty in this regard is admirable.
Helen asking Steven if he realized that Ashleigh fancied him was a low shot (video on C5 site). She might want to get back at Ashleigh, but no need to bring her b/f into it. He has done nothing to anybody in there and is an innocent bystander. How will he feel watching that? Last edited by jet; 03-07-2014 at 08:42 AM. |

I think she's a hilarious bitch. I like the way she just sits back and observes the other housemates, doesn't start arguments for the sake of it but isn't afraid to voice her opinion when necessary either.

She's not sitting there making up random things, like Helen v's Kim and the "roll eyes" scandal of the first couple of days. Ashleigh says what she's thinking. She doesn't start pointless arguments and she doesn't go around spreading bile like Helen. Her biggest problem is how she is saying it. Her face gets all venomous, but that's hardly the worst complaint. Remember that Chris, who is my favourite in there, essentially called them all idiots. His comparison of Winston and an abandoned car was classic. Thats the difference between Chris and Ashleigh, delivery.

Something inoffensive
|
I admire her for the plan that she put together and for her general deviousness, but I will also love watching her being beaten at her own game. Which is why I would keep her in but pick off all of her favourites so that she is left isolated in there.

I like her because for such a young girl she has a fair set of balls to take on house bully Helen. I agree she needs to start having a bit more fun but I think her misery is coming from sharing a house with that witch Helen. She was actually enjoying herself last night when Helen wasn't there though.......coincidence? I think not

I'm not a fan as such but i will back anyone who fights against scum and stands up for themselves in the fave of adversity , when the cause is just they will always have my support i dont care if i like them or not.
ashleigh is doing and saying what the majority wanted and should be applauded for it and backed. you may not like the methods or tone but war is ugly and its war in there. and its never a good thing to see but it has to be done for the greater good. as a person do i like her. i dont know yet. but i like the fact she's not a sheep the same reason why i like mathew and chris. so many fakes so many sheep so many try hards and unigenuine people. its nice to see someone make a stand and for the right reasons so far. she can do a jale and join the cool gang and be part of the evil pack to try and win the show or she can stand by her beliefs. and she done that and thats admirable .

Shes definitely growing on me, it would be good to see her have more fun though like she seemed to last night. It will be interesting to see if she can get more people on her side, eg Stephen after last nights revelations re Kimberley and Stephen. Shes a game player
but a good one, and because of her age a surprising one. |
