My flatmates always do the third one. How bloody difficult is it to change a toilet roll!? Frustrating. Anyway I do it accidentally, so whether it runs over or under is by chance. But I do prefer the roll do go down the back side (no dirty jokes please - the 2nd one), it looks neater.

As in the 2nd picture for me. I read somewhere it was the correct way to do so.

According to wiki, "It has even been suggested that preference for under may correlate with ownership of a recreational vehicle or a cat".

I don't have either...
